anyone think the notebooks are due a refresh ?

    Yeah, I meant AMD--the "Vision" stuff. Sorry, I don't follow AMD closely enough to know the exact dates, and don't think Dell uses AMD in notebooks anyway.

    I was referring to the OP....he mentioned e series amd precision series which indeed do not exist.

    Back on topic: The only features I'd like to see are not enough for a refresh:

    - 2.5'' HDD caddy for the modular bay (already available from www.newmodeus.com)
    - standardized fingerprint reader that works with Firefox, Windows 7, etc
    - 1680x1050 screens for the 15-inch laptops
    - Precision M2400 and M4400 with lids similar to the E6400 and E6500 or the M6400
    - switchable graphics (perhaps not available with professional Nvidia GPUs)

    has anyone seen engadget today ? thats the studioxps line getting a refresh with the core i7 platform

    how long till the business models are updated ....

    Probably a little while still. It seems to me that business-line computers are slower to adopt new technology than their consumer counterparts.

    As sgogeta4 said, the Latitude E series will be refreshed in Feb/March 2010 when Arrandale is released. Most likely as E4210, E4310, E6410, E6510, etc.

    Guaranteed or your money back :p
