I noticed HP did offer the RGB LEDs very briefly, (about a day) before they disappeared. So it seems, only Sony has availability albeit with a craptacular video card. I've been waiting for either one since August so maybe 3 more grueling weeks won't kill me.

I think it's just as important to note what the panel bit-depth is. A high-gamut 6-bit panel could have noticeable dithering and would not be very accurate for professional color editing. The only laptop that might use an 8-bit panel is the HP 8730W. It's listed as having '16 million colors', which tells me 6-bit+spatial dithering, but who knows.

I also noticed Dell had all 4 screens available on the day of the launch but there was a problem with their online ordering system where you could not select the quad core processor as it threw up an incompatibility error with the wifi card, not giving you the option to change the wifi card either...

maybe the first bunch of LEDs + edge to edge machines got snapped up by big corps..

also no-one has complained about the 500gb drives... dell we're constantly sayign that we'd have 1tb of raid storange.. and i do not see any 500gb drives available do you..?

Once the technologies are there, and prices on new tech come down, we'll probably see the orange m6400.

I think Dell marketed this waaaayyy too early. All that video and press for two months, promising the world, just so they could under deliver. Looks like they are using the iPhone marketing strategy, but without the finished product.
