    =/

Still disappointing, I refuse to waste time installing it if this is the same update for the M4400 (even though M4400A10.exe is not launched yet).

    (ty though AndyBurns).

maybe the "updated thermal table" is all we are looking for I♥RAM ....though i don't expect much after hearing none of our issues are known at Dell global unresoved issues list :( We all need to call them to just tell them about it, ask for L2 support guy and have them escalate it

What are the common issues left on peoples lists?

    Mine are ...
    • occasional hanging instead of suspending - needs to be powered off to escape.
    • WiFi occasionally disconnects (usually reconnects by itself, sometimes needs to be told to reconnect, very rarely needs radio disabling and re-enabling)
    • Fingerprint reader wakes up slowly after being suspended, doesn't always wake up at all, sometimes it can be persuaded by going through CTL-ALT-DEL and then ESC cycle a couple of times, then it wakes up.
    • explorer.exe taking long pauses which I suspect is linked to having an SD card in the slot, often if I remove the card it comes back to life, I must try a different card.

Just the downclocking that started with BIOS A06, but that doesn't apply to the e6500 i guess, different GPU. I was just curious when i saw this thread ;)

    Remaining bugs and problems?

    1. Once every week or so, my E6400 takes a couple of minutes to go through the BIOS boot.

    2. Thermal management is still work in progress. A09 runs my fan for 10 minutes once it has started, irrespective of temperature. People with docks and nvidia GPUs are still having big issues with fans.

Otherwise, for me the BIOS is nearly there. Some drivers and Dell software, however, still have a long way to go.

Sounds like the system isn't (or thinks it isn't) completing a proper boot sequence, if the system doesn't get all the way from power on to handing over control to an O/S, the system will perform a full test during the next POST, with the amount of memory in machines now, that can take a LONG time.

Your description of the process may be correct. The challenge is to find the underlying problem.

Maybe the TPM since that shows up with a driver error in Device Manager. Getting the security hardware working is waiting for me to get bored at Christmas. Anyway. I don't reboot very often.

I'm also experiencing these problems occasionally on my e6400. The first problem is particularly bad if you put your computer to sleep manually and then have the power settings put it in hibernate after a certain period of time because the computer will essentially power on in order to put itself into hibernate, but then it will just hang there.

The easy way to tell that this has happened is that as soon as you open your laptop case the whole laptop is hot to the touch
