This is the adapter that comes with the E6500. according to the Tech Specs page:

    Power Supply:
90 Watt AC adapter with cord wrapping

Can someone please measure theirs or is there specs online? I couldn't find it. Thanks!

Straight from the E6500 service manual:

    Height 70.22 mm (2.76 inches)
    Width 146.64 mm (5.77 inches)
    Depth 16.3 mm (0.64 inch)

I do believe this is for the new adapter (PA-3E?), though. Some early adopters of the E6400 and E6500 may have gotten the old adapter (PA-10) which is a bit bigger. Admittedly, the cord wrapping on the new adapter doesn't really work as well.

The standard cord length (going towards the outlet) on the new adapter is three feet, but I'm sure Dell has a longer cord as they did with the old adapter; you'll just need to figure out the part number and jump through some flaming hoops to get it. The nice is that the new adapter has a standard connector on the outlet side, so you could actually go and buy your own cord if you wanted something longer.

EDIT: New adapter on the left, old adapter on the right:

I measured the adapter for my E6500.
The 110v cable is detachable from the power adapter, and measures about 35" long. The low voltage cable from the power adapter measures about 70" long. The power adapter is fairly flat, measures 5/8" x 2 3/4" x 5 3/4". As you can see in the photo in a previous post, the adapter has a bumpout where the 110v cord plugs in. The power adapter is 7/8" thick at the power adapter. The plug on the end of the 110v cable is larger so when it is plugged into the power adapter, the total thickness at that point is 1 3/8" thick. The power adapter is fairly light, compared to the larger adapter for my old Inspiron 8600, but fairly large compared to the tiny little adapter for my wife's Toshiba A605.

I don't think so... unless Dell shipped a travel adapter instead of my regular adapter. Furthermore, the PA-3E is a 90W unit (I mean it's actually written there on the label), whereas all the travel adapters should be 65W units. And then it doesn't have changeable heads, a short cord, etc.

Thats a regular power brick from the D series. Looks like a 90W judging by size. There were also 65W look alike models a bit smaller. Travel adapter look more like a smaller version of the left one.

The one on the right is the standard D-Series 90W adapter (PA-10). The standard D-Series 65W adapter (PA-12) does look almost the same.

    This is the new PA12 65W auto/air/AC adaptor, next to a PA10 90W PSU.

    [IMG] (from my E6400 review)

The 65W PSU has the added benefit of a 2-pin mains connector which has a 2-core mains cable, so travel weight and size are further reduced. The 65W PSU has enough capacity to power my E6400 with Intel GPU and recharge the battery. It should be an option instead of the 90W PSU and not just an additional option.
