thats what i thought too, but it cant be. i've had 4 motherboards, all displayed the same issue.

i do have the 3 year warranty, and yes, the motherboard revision was something i posted about before hehe....but the downside is, unlike other older dell models, it may not be worth getting a new revision because it involves removing the snap on palmrest......which once u take off never fits back as tightly again :(

You've had 4 motherboards in the same machine????
I meant you should get a new machine. Anything that involves removal of the main board on this machine is just not worth it (for the same reason you state above).

If you have had the same issue with different motherboards\machines, we need to narrow it down to the common denominator. It may be a rogue application but I still think it's a hardware issue. I don't think it's a driver issue because I think it would happen much more often than just a couple of times a week, and I also think we would have heard more people complain about that same problem.

Could it be a voltage problem. Do you think it may be the occasional brownouts happening in your neighborhood? Hmmm, if that was the case, the battery would probably just kick in anyway....

no, 3 motherboards in one machine, and one new machine.

i dont think they'll replace with a brand new one if its months after purchase....they'll prob give a refurb....

If you can show a history of problems (with the case#'s) starting from delivery of laptop/s then maybe they will replace with new. It wouldn't hurt to ask (and ask to speak to a manager if needed) - especially if you have the ProSupport.
If you buy multiple machines and can show that you are a regular customer that would help too :) (no company wants to lose customers, especially those that buy several computers)

I always find it helpful to be really nice yet persistent with my requests....

    yea i know the drill....

it could either be a driver issue/64 bit issue that hasnt been resolved yet, or it could be a software issue, because i've been using the same hard drive all the time.

the reason im still unsure is because it happens very infrequently. and for a split second, im wondering if anyone else is actually experiencing it but hasnt seen it

i was pretty sure it was some software and i need to reformat, i just mentioned it because of the incompatibility on the dell website that was brought up
