    Hi,
I uninstalled the drivers for my 5530 card, but will like to install them again. The drivers are not on my dell dvd that shpiied with my computer, but found this file on dell's site: DELL_WIRELESS-5530-HSPA-MINI_A02_R197332.

When I install that file, the instalation process aborts.. - i tried restart, disable my card (it's liste in device manger with missing drivers), and ran CClean once - no luck.

    Any suggestions?

I am on win vista 64x.

Doing a search for that filename, at dell.com, will show that it is the driver for vista 32-bit.

Give this 64-bit driver a try:

    ftp.us.dell.com/comm/DELL_WIRELESS-5530-HSPA-MINI_A02_R197333.EXE

    :)

Dell is only offering one verdor for Denmark (Telia) but i have a different verdor.. - can i activate my 5530 card myself in some way?

You shouldn't need to activate the WWAN card in any way.

In the UK Dell only offer a Vodafone contract, instead I purchased a T-Mobile pre-pay USIM, inserted it and it just works.

Andy: can you tell how use your t-mobile? - how do you connect? - you don't use Dell's connection manager?

janik: did you contact dell support on this? the business support is pretty good. they should be able to advise you since i think their agreements with different operators may vary. yours may be locked where else one from the uk might not be

I am sorry if am i am asking too many stupid questions in here - but really: NO, Dell in Denmark is the worst technical support I've EVER expirenced. They know NOTHING! Actually i called them thursday about this problem and he promised me a call when he knew something - now its monday.

Therefore - i just want to know what app. Andy uses to connect with :)

really? that sucks. did you purchase through business channel? i would have thought the prosupport warranty would be good in all countries.

and im sorry, i really dint mean that i thought you were asking stupid questions or something like that....i just meant that there may be local differences and the fastest way to find out might be asking dell

could they at least tell you if the card is locked in some way to the operator? maybe you should ask to speak to their supervisor..

Well - i did buy it though business lines - but as a "normal" customer (i am a student). To be honost - i never think i've ever talked to the "pro support" - once a guy told me he had to ask some "pro guys" - but why not just ut me though to them? hehe
I'm gonna get in touch with them again today, it can't be true they know nothing about their own products.

no need to be sorry - i just realized that i've been asking so much on these boards recently, and some of the questions might have been a bit stupid hehe - but i am really not getting anything from Dell at the moment (other than a large telephone bill hehe).

YEA this is something that really annoys me. In malaysia the tech support and sales lines are toll free, but when im in the UK i have to pay 5p a minute. this is ridiculous.....it should be toll free!
