    Hi,

is this possible to use dual 24"/27" LCDs with the new Latitude e4300? Do I need for this e-port plus or would be a cheaper e-port also sufficient? I'm asking only for direct digital video connections, no VGA or external video boxes like matrox dual2go.

You need the E-Port Plus. It is the only Dell port replicator that supports dual digital outputs, and AFAIK the only one from any manufacturer. Keep in mind that you will not be able to use your internal LCD with two external digital displays attached -- I was not told this, and I'm able to live with it, but others may not be able to.

Does any of Latitude E laptops support 3008WFP 2560x1600?

If you use the basic E/Port DVI and DisplayPort-to-DVI-adapter, you can use two monitors with it.

You need to see if the E4300 supports dual-link DVI, as that is the only tech I know of that can drive that gigantic monitor.

The standard e-port has two digital outs, DisplayPort and DVI, but is not capable of dual mode?

The manual for the E/Port clearly states you can use two monitors with it.

Yes, Greg, the Dell's online Store clearly states that e-port Plus can drive even 2x30" (2x2560x1600), yeah :D !

But imho the main question of this topic is whether Intel 4500MHD is strong enough to drive such huge desktop 1920x2400? Maybe the RAM is the bottleneck, because it has no own memory and uses shared.

For configuring of e4300 in us online store you can choose 2 external monitors, both 24" with 1920x1200. May be a sign that such a config is runnable... But I would wait for official acknowledgment from Dell.

For non-3D work, there will be no problem driving super high resolutions as GPUs from all vendors are MORE than powerful enough to do this. Dual 1920x1200 is fine, and (assuming the Intel card supports dual-link) 2560x1600 should be fine as well.

If you want me to run my E6400 on my two 24" screens (via my basic E/Port) using DVI and DisplayPort I will be more than happy to. I have the Intel 4500MHD.

That's definitely worth doing since this support for big screens is a regular question.
