When the Steelseries keyboard was offered on Sager/Clevo computers there were some mapping issues. It was mostly the Fn keys though. Since that was a few generations back it could have gotten worse.

They have gradually got worse over time for not working together. It all comes down to how the keyboard controller reads the matrix of inputs. One slight difference may not impact one much but totally offsets the other.

    Hi,

I'm new here. I have a Clevo P170em with stock keyboard, and mulfunctioning Tab, A and I keys.

If the price is fair, your keyboard is 100% compatible (mapping included) and operating and you can help find some installation instructions, I'll definitely be interested!

    Please let me know

Hi, I used it in my P170EM too so it's 100% functional, buuuuut the Fn key mapping is not. So you'll have to remember what function goes where (which I did).
If you're still interested then PM me.

I just send you a message at the Hotmail address. I cannot send PM since I'm new to the forum. Can you send some keyboard pictures? Thanks

I have one of these available as well. Used it on my Sager NP9170, but have since sold the laptop so i don't need this keyboard. Is anyone looking for one?

    Hello,

I am under the impression that the P150EM is the Clevo model equivalent to the Sager NP9150, so it should fit. Should read this thread to understand how to get the perfect fit, as there is a minimal amount of DIY effort needed to file the screw holes.

Note: you are not accepting PMs. If you adjust your settings, then I can message you.

I bought a Steelseries with nordic keys, but it wont work in my Clevo P150EM at all, the keys are all random and even when I use key remap software it wont remap the keys properly.

    This is were I bought:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-For-MSI...744?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item259f4d1c08

My original Clevo keyboard is for Windows 7 but I really dislike it because its unresponsive at times and the backspace key broke of completely randomly.
Do I need a steelseries or W7 too? Or is there some drivers I can install to make it work properly?
Yes I also checked if the connectors are connected properly, twice.

Yes the key mappings have been changed in later revisions, you would have to find one of the original batch and good luck with that.

I think it was the windows 7 version, I can't quite remember when the change happened.

Aright I will have my W8 keyboard exchanged for the W7 version then by the seller in Hong Kong and see if it works and then I will report my findings.
Although it does make sense the W8 would not work with he W7 version because W8 key mappings are different in general, from what I read.

Well the latest keyboard won't work in the latest sagers for instance and the windows 7 keyboard did not work in the p570wm so it can be model dependent too.

I made sure to buy the steelseries for GT60 - GT70 MS-1762 and my laptop is a Clevo P150EM custom built by Norwegian company Multicom and I upgraded the processor to Extreme Edition, 1TB SSD and 16GB ram so it should not affect the keyboard.

Funny enough I bought it from Aliexpress because it was on sale, anyway on Ali page it says the W8 is compitable with the W7 version and W8 version but on eBay another seller writes in big font with red colour that when buying W8 keyboard I NEED to have W8 stock keyboard likewise with W7. If I am right I will need the W7 version, I already returned the W8 one so I should expect the W7 within this month and I will report my findings so other people wont have to waste money on buying the wrong keyboard like me because it sure was f****** expensive to return it to Hong Kong its 12.96€ just for international post in my country, the stupid package went just over the length limit so I had to pay twice the cash because for whatever reasons.

Good news guys, so I bought the Windows 8 version of the steelseries keyboard for GT60 - GT70 model series 1762 - it did not work at all.

Then I bought the Windows 7 version, it works! I sent a mail to Clevo about the issue and I was told if you had a Windows 8 computer you also need the W8 version of the keyboard the same if you have a Windows 7 like me.

So the solution is pretty easy, get the supported series of the Steelseries and if you do not know what Windows version your Clevo/Sager/MSI is then look at the keyboard model series number and search for it to find out what type it is, they are all produced by Sunrex. I hope this helps prevent anyone from making the same mistake as I did which turned out to be quite an expensive one.

I actually got mine from here http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-For-MSI...471?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item259b7080ef
But its for Scandinavian keyboard, 20come12 delivers strong but I seen some cheaper deals out there for US versions of the Steelseries sadly 20come12 was the only one who sold Scandinavian version of the keyboard but I am happy with the purchase so what can I say. There is also AliExpress they sometimes have sales its worth checking out there as well.
