    Thanks for the detailed answer!

I get it that you are running PremaBios thats how you are able to pull these insane numbers. Is the bios close to be available for us to use?

    No problem

Hopefully pretty soon... Just trying to work out some of the "user error" parts that can get some into serious trouble. :)

    That sounds good! lol

Quick question, has anyone played with Dual optane 32GB memory in Raid 0 configuration? I am not sure if the TM can take only 1 or two Optane memories. I am really intrigued to see how Raid 0 optane memory can boost 4K and random read speeds compared to main storage drive, 960 Pro 2TB. Thoughts?

TM should be able to take 3 because there are 3 pcie m.2 slots. though only 1 on mobo is marked for optane and thats because that particular m.2 slot can only take pcie, while the other two m.2 can do both pcie/sata. courtesy of @Meaker@Sager @Donald@HIDevolution

great idea, sadly not enough capacity and poor sequential performance because low channel of optane memory (only 2 while u.2 drive has 7), but because only 2 channel and its meant for caching, its random 4k read performance is off the chart, around 7-8x of that 960 pro.

heres the review of 3 optane m.2 module in raid

Hi guys I am using a bit of trouble with my laptop ctd in nearly all my games, is there any settings I should be aware of with win 10? I have a feeling I have conflicting software trying to optimise my games at once causing them to crash?

The U.2 slot 280GB drive can fit, but the slots aren't U.2 so it'll not work. The 480GB 900P is PCI/e slot only.

    I was under the impression that 900P is backward compatible with U.2 & M.2. Would a cable adapter U.2 > M.2 work?

Or actually until the 900P is a hit for intel and they release a laptop friendly version M.2 NVME

You would have to route the cable from the M.2 and then where it plugs into the SSD would be interfered with by the normal sata slot.

The 900P seems to have some forms:

U.2 (280GB only), and PCI/e (280GB, 480GB only). No larger drives I've been able to commercially find, as of about 3 hours ago when I was searching.

I'm sure a U.2 to M.2 NVMe converter exists somewhere but it wouldn't be possible to use in this notebook, especially since we don't really have a power cable.

u.2 280gb for now. pcie coming with 1TB and 1.5TB soon from intel, possibly with more channels for higher sequential.

for the cable, there is one and it's hella expensive, power delivery of 12v is the one thing gotta overcome from inside of the laptop, hopefully to source it from mxm or power cable of GPU. wish me luck, or its few hundred dollar wasted with the mod.

There are new drivers on the Clevo website but for some reason I can’t download anything.

On a side note, is there an easy way to do a NVRAM reset without having to remove the CMOS battery?

I tried the Fn + D but it didn’t work.

Fn+D does work, but sometimes you need to hold it longer than normal.
We keep a small piece of tape on either end of the keyboard while testing. It makes for easy cmos battery removal and replace. You can then fold the tape under the keyboard and it becomes hidden. The only problem with that is you will need to remove the bottom to push a very small object through the K/B hole to remove the keyboard.

I will try it next time I need to perform NVRAM reset.

Right now, for some reason I can not launch the CPU overclock tool via the modified control center by J95 for some reason. Whenever I click it nothing happens.

Should I uninstall the GPU Overclocking software that come pre-installed. My GPU get around constant 85-90c with fan on high, while my CPU stay constant cool on 40c. The GPU overclock is off but i feel like its on even though it said off. Is this normal or should i worry? I am play Black Desert Online with graphic on high and texture medium.

the gpu overclock doesn't affect gpu that much

the issue is poor contact and/or insufficient airflow around the laptop

GPU Temp reaches high 80C within 3-5 mins of gameplay with cooling pad and laptop fan on high. Meanwhile my CPU stay around 45C. I am playing a game that supposed to be CPU intensive instead of GPU. There is no GPU overclocking during gameplay. My old laptop Asus G750JM with the same game has opposite problem. I already sent a ticket to Zoltan Tech Support. I will try other game to see if it happened.

I'm having the same problem too. Yet was advised by reseller that this is "normal". I'm with you, I think its way to warm for my comfort level.

That said, different games will tax the laptop in different ways, some harder than others.

@j95 's CCC Mod is for user that don't want to use any of the CCC features other than the light control.
He's removing all the clutter. You have to use the stock version for your model if you want to user the other stuff.

I think the temps are good for what it is I see around 60c on gpu temps in light games and then max 80c on heavy games and that's fans on auto. The cpu I've never seen go over 65c in games.

Yeah, I definitely feel ya. It's unfortunate, but this thing runs HOT. The price we pay for custom power eh? lol

My GPU's stay in the low to mid 80's a bunch, but honestly, it varies quite a lot because I play different games.

As far as the CPU goes, It will. Of course, that varies game to game.

i game at 60hz though even though its 120hz display i barely see any major difference. temps at 1080p with 120hz i get about 81c with 1070. with 60hz its like 70c rofl, cpu at around 75 ish during game at 4.9ghz. this is for dota2.. on highest settings, auto fan.

@j95 do you know a possible way to get CCC working for server OS? honestly i cant seem to see why i couldnt get it going, when i run the program, keyboard backlit color is the only option thats missing while its there for regular consumer OS.

i'd love to see your hwinfo memory temp because couldnt get it to show, rather, your hwinfo settings.

You are not alone at 60hz, some people just don't see the difference, others like me are not so bothered by screen tearing etc. So fair enough on saving the power.
