    Hi, forgot to mention.
My laptop does a hard shutdown every 30 minutes on the clock. Like as if it just lost power. This happened while I was running an extended memtest as well. Which leads me to believe that it's not OS related. 30 minutes after powering up, it'll just loose power. It's not a heating issue, since temps are in line, plus it'll run a stress test fine for 30 minutes and then loose power again.

From what I found, possible causes were
    1. Hardware changes - Nothing has changed in years on this laptop.
    2. RAM fault - No issues found on standard memtest. Laptop powers off before it can complete an extended memtest.
    3. Software/OS bugs - Happens in command prompt/ bios screen as well.
    4. BIOS/EC fault - Looking to flash the BIOS, with OEM files. Don't have those, sager website looks like it's down. This searching for those.
    5. Motherboard fault - Really hoping that it's not the case. Unlikely that I'll be able to repair that.

Does it run for 30 minutes again if you power it on straight away? Is it always very consistent in timings?

    Yes and yes.
It's very consistent with the timings. Stress test/temps... Doesn't seem to bother it at all.

I am based out of India now.
The website doesn't load for me.... Have tried multiple DNS points for myself, but that doesn't help.
Will try to see if VPN helps.

Anyway to get a link to the bios for Sager P67SG (I7-4720HQ and gtx 980m)?

You'll need to use the site request form or speak to xotic.

    Submitted request on sagernotebook.com
Looks like it is working for people based in the USA. When tor routed through Austria, it wouldn't let me put in a ticket. Worked, once the connection was routed through USA.

    Thanks @Meaker@Sager

Yeah, it's odd it's like some countries in that area of the world are not resolving it properly.

Update: My issue has been resolved.
Flashing the BIOS and EC with OEM files resolved it. Thanks for your help meaker@sager.

Hi, I am trying to extend the life of my P670SG a little longer before upgrading...is this model able to use gsync or freesync with an external monitor? I've been reading on other sites about laptops unable to divert the output to the 980m gpu.

Can it be done with the P670SG?

    Thanks

Unfortunately it cannot. The laptop is routed through Optimus on all display outputs.

You can get high refresh rate displays still and if you get one supporting adaptive now your next machine could use it.

    Hi,

Has anyone use the Exp Gdc "Beast" with an external GPU card with the 670SG laptop? It seems with some other model of Clevo laptop, it has been done. Seems like a good boost to use our laptop longer for gaming.

    Thanks.

    they have
the exp gdc has the m.2 ngff connection.

looking at another device by ADT Link R43SG with M.2 "M" key connector....a user with a 2015 15" Clevo P750DM-G manage to get it run it. Is this laptop a similar build to our P670SG? the m.2 slot with x4 would be used.

Hard to justify doing that with the big hit to average and minimum frame rates that bottleneck would cause.

Anyone know which version HDMI these laptops have? I'm trying to run 4096x2160@60Hz. Currently running 4096x2160@30Hz over HDMI/HD6400 (970M desoldered/died). I'm considering purchasing a mini-DP to HDMI adapter since display port v1.2 should support this resolution, just not sure the i7/HD4600 will support it as i've read conflicting info from different sources.

Can anyone confirm the ability to run 4096x2160@60Hz via the HD 4600 and which port?

I don't think it's 2.0. Using the DP should work though.

    Hi again,

Is there anyway to disable the p670sg NIC in Bios? it seems our Bios has very limited flexibility or functions. Does this laptop have an unlocked bios?

Need to disable the NIC via bios for the external gpu project.

    THanks.

I doubt it without unlocking it, even then that's not a common option.
