i noticed when i overclock the monitor to 100hz it gets slightly darker and visible faint lines going down the screen become more apparent, even in 75hz they are there but not as visible. Also it feel like the chassis has faint vibrations because of the fans spinning. Do other people have this issue?

Yes, when you get higher in the screen overclocking, you might see some different results like that. Have you checked to see if your fans are securely screwed in, and there is no dust/debris in them?

You will feel it slightly when the fans rev up, but it should not be very much. As with all overclocking it's a lottery and just because it can display an image at a certain refresh rate it does not mean it is totally stable (like having a graphics card producing artifacts but not crashing).

my friend his the same exact display, though his doesn't have gsync support. his OCs to 100hz without any problems. the problem on mine is that it has the issues even at its rated speed of 75hz, though not as bad. thinking of getting it replaced.

If you have issues at the stock refresh rate I would talk to your reseller.

I would like to get a bigger power supply but I can't find anything online and I've searched a lot. 200W isn't enough.

You either need to use an adapter on a larger brick or mod the cable, the connector design is really on rated up to 180-200W so the type is switched when you get higher than that.

Has anyone managed to solve the throttling issues on this laptop? Regardless of temperature, if the Nvidia GPU is under significant load, the CPU throttles. Changing to a 300 watt power supply makes no difference.

If I undervolt the CPU I can get a higher clock during GPU load, so it's definitely some sort of "power sharing" issue.

It will be an overall power limit for the system as a whole, it would need a modded CPU.

@Meaker@Sager What is a modded cpu?

The interesting thing is that the throttling the GPU is causing on the CPU is boolean. There is no gradient at all, which is what I would expect were it an overall power limit.

Once past a certain point, changing GPU voltage one way or the other has 0 effect on the throttling of the CPU, despite the fact that changing the CPU voltage has a noticeable effect.

There is probably a flag being sent similar to BD PROCHOT

You have to mod a 240W Dell one.. That's your best option.. Need a PSU and a barrel connector to connect the Dell PSU to your Clevo.. Search for it on this forum, you can defo find a lot of info about it!

    Hello

I just wanted to say that I love everything about this laptop except one thing ... the keyboard has terrible ghosting issues (where only a few simultaneous keyboard presses register). For example, in FPS games I usually shift my hand over a set of keys (ESDF instead of WASD). Except I can't press two of those keys and have the space bar (e.g. jump) work at the same time. In another instance, I'm modding a game and need to enter debut mode, which is LCTRL+RCTRL+F9 ... except I can't press all three of those keys at the same time. Kind of a bummer to be honest. I'll adapt but for a gaming laptop this is not an insignificant design flaw.

I would set up a hot key for those types of combos. It's a downside of making a thin keyboard it's harder to avoid ghosting issues.

Usually when I install a new game, that is one of the first things I do is to just make sure which GPU it is running off of on my laptop. Sometimes, not often, it just decides to throw games to the Intel HD...

I tried everything to get this game to run. Tried setting a virtual machine and that did nothing really, although it was possible but just worked twice as hard for half the result. I ended up going with the dgvoodoo2 and having that bypass hook. Back @ 60fps (capped game). That was a hassle lol, stupid Optimus.

Yeah, sometimes older games don't like to play nice with newer OS's and tech, but it is good you figured out the solution to it. Thanks for letting us know how you did it as well, in case anybody else is looking for a solution.

Hey guys I am having no luck at all getting the bluetooth working with my Metabox p670se windows 7 x64. I have tried multiple bluetooth drivers, stacks etc to no avail.

Every time I try and connect a pair of headphones I can pair but not connect as it fails or with certain drivers comes up with an error. I then need to delete the drivers etc to try and get it working but when I was able to get it working the one time the sound lag made it unusable due to not having drivers etc.

I even went out and bought an external bluetooth usb adaptor but even that failed to work. I done a bit of research and nothing I found helped and the only information I could find is it might have something to do with windows 7 not coming with a bluetooth stack or something along those lines.

If someone could link me the driver I need that would be great as I am out of ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What wireless card do you have in your computer?

Have you tried multiple bluetooth headsets, and which one is it? Usually bluetooth items are pretty universal, but there are still some odd exceptions where one headset just doesn't want to work with another item, or maybe they are different versions of bluetooth that don't play well together.

I've noticed my laptop running way hotter recently. Even at idle on the desktop it's 50-60C and the fans keep spinning up and down. In games like Overwatch my CPU hits 100C. GPU 80C.

Have you tried re-pasting the thermal compound on CPU/GPU? Also, have you cleaned out the fans as well, just to make sure they can run at max speeds without issues? Usually if temps go up, for a lot of cases, some maintenance like that can help out a decent amount.

I tried that but it didn't help.

The wireless card I am using is an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265. I have tried 3 different bluetooth headsets and all of them have had the same issue and they can be connected to my mobile phone so I am thinking it is a driver issue. Here is a photo of my current setup and after a bit of screwing around installing and uninstalling drivers I am able to get it to this stage where it detects my headsets but I am unable to connect to them as it just says connecting and never progresses or errors out.

I think the 970m in my NP8671 is dead. My girlfriend was playing a game on it last night and made the comment that the screen "glitched" once or twice. She played the game for maybe 30-45 minutes after then got off the laptop. Next day (today) she went to play another game and she was getting like 0-1FPS (running on the intel GPU). I came to check it out and nvidia control panel wouldn't open. That's when i checked device manager and noticed the 970m had error "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" under it. FF to uninstalling/reinstalling multiple drivers, nothing seems to work. I've sent the vendor i purchased it from an email requesting a replacement quote. I'm sure i won't be spending the $600-$900+ to replace the motherboard/integrated CPU/GPU. So i may end up with a very expensive gaming laptop with a crappy intel video card.

Anyone have any other suggestions to try and get it working or to verify if it's actually dead or not?

Edit: Considering sending the board to one of those GPU reball services. If i can find a reputable one.

Did you try downloading the driver from Intel's site that has the bluetooth driver as well, not just the wireless driver? You could also try an older version of the driver and see if maybe that gets to connect it.

Have you tried doing a clean install of Windows?

A few months back I was having issues with my laptop. After all the possible changes I could try, I ended up doing a clean install and it started working again. Worth a shot to try, before looking at spending money on a new motherboard or trying to find someone to re-ball it.

It could be a faulty wireless card, however make sure both antennae are plugged in fully on it.

I would check the cables as Meaker mentioned. Might be worth checking to see if you can get a replacement, maybe under warranty if possible, or wireless cards aren't horribly expensive if you were to buy a different one.

The new P670 series (I'm looking at the Sager NP8677 / Clevo P670RE3 specifically) have a choice of two different displays, one with G-sync and one without. Are they both IPS panels or just the G-sync is IPS?

This is the closest I could find to a NP8677/P670RE3 thread. It's hard to find any reviews of it.

The stock screen without GSync is not an IPS screen. The upgraded screen with GSync is an IPS though.

If you need colour accuracy dropping to the 15 inch and getting the 4k panel may be your best option.

From what I've read, 4k doesn't buy much on a smaller screen. And the 17.3" I've been using for the last 8 years is just fine. And my eyes aren't as young as they used to be. So the bigger screen is better for my eyes.

The 4k screen does make objects smaller if you are running at a higher resolution, but you could drop the resolution to 1920x1080 or whatever your preference is. The screens themselves generally have a better color gamut to them compared to some of the ones available in 17" inches.
