both of them. After restart, always is down and I have to press up, but works normal, then sometimes keep scrolling down. I have to restart. the batteries and mouse configuration are ok.

I wouldn't add a thermal pad to the PCH since there is no heatsink making contact with it to dissipate the heat.
Having a thermal pad on top with no heat sink would probably make the PCH run hotter.

It will transfer it any material, obviously having something like a metal sheet would be ideal.

If you place a thermal pad on something without a heatsink it will just insulate the component making it run hotter.

Well you would contact it onto some surface otherwise it's not really a thermal interface material.

Hi there, I remembered that you mention you tweaked your gpu with afterburner. Do you mind sharing your settings for it?

    @ShayMagen

Each card will respond differently and I have like four different profiles. I can post them for you. You have to turn afterburner on every time and load the profile to use on every boot. It doesn't save like Intel xtu does for CPU settings even when told to load on bootup. I believe it fights with CCC.

Tomorrow night I'll post them for you and how I tuned my card.
I used 3d mark to mimic a heavy load and gpu z to do light load tuning.

You undervolt both cache and cpu?

Usually when you undervolt the cpu it mirrors on the cache automatically. You can do it individually. I'm not sure how much of a difference it really makes.

Anyone have any tips for undervolting the cpu and gpu on this. I had great success undervolting my pb71 from last year setting it at -180 and -.9 and then capping the gpu at .8 and am trying to set up this years version for a family member

Did you play around with clock curves in MSI afterburner on your last machine? Otherwise very similar.

yeah, the gpu will be easy to take care of but this cpu seems to be running WAY hotter than my 9750 from last year and I'm wondering what to do about it. I have it pasted with pads for HID but when I run something like Cinebench 20 my temps are high 80s. The score is 4200 compared to 3200 on my 9750 but my temps arent nearly that high. The fan seems to be significantly louder too so that's why I'm curious as to people's throttlestop settings

I am interested in buying the sager np8378f2. I was wondering about the build quality, this laptop would be used for live shows and I need to know if it could handle a couple of years on the road. It is mainly for Resolume Arena but also a little after effects, premiere, blender, cinema 4d and photoshop.

So long as you are putting it in a suitable bag/case. It won't fall apart with use quickly but it's not a rugidised model either.

They could technically flash it if they wanted to, but it comes from us with the standard BIOS. I would ask them.

Well, got mine back from HID and its still having issues. I think I actually have a bios issue now, as they updated my bios (lost all my OCing features) and now I'm getting random BSODs to include hypervisor error. Was wondering if anyone knew of a newer bios, running 1.07.06NS1 (which has a date of 9/25/19 oddly enough).

    I'm still on 1.07.03LS1
    9/25/2019
Seems like a slightly revised version of mine now. Honestly I wouldn't play. Call them up and tell them it's still not right. Bad machines can happen, but to send you back one still screwed up is not excusable. They should forward rma a new machine and pay shipping now.

Its rage inducing at this point. It just keeps crashing more and more. Games are just closing to desktop. Couldn't finish a match of LoL cause it just repeatedly kept crashing to desktop throughout the game. This is two laptops, and going to be two RMAs on this one.

I hear ya. Try and stay calm if you can. When you talk to them see if they'll be able to work w you. They might be willing to forward rma u a new machine, they'd put a hold on your card but that is removed once your machine is returned. This way you get a working machine and don't have to wait. Make sure they test it before they send it to you.

Either that or go for a full refund and buy from a different company. HIDs not looking too well here.

I'll try but I doubt they'll go for it. Wanted to do something like that when this one went down the first time because I went through the same thing with my previous laptop with them. The turn around time is horrendous as well.

    Just a heads up.
I have the Intel AX201 wifi in mine and I think you all do too. It was not really all that stable at times but Intel has a new driver out for it and it certainly is better.
    New driver revision is 21.110.1
I got it directly from Intel.

So, has anyone else been having issues with their webcam? I can't even find a driver for it on my computer. It's not something I'd ever thought to check, as the mic has been working fine, but the camera doesn't seem to exist in device manager.

A whole buttload of new drivers posted at www.clevo.com.tw on 9-5-2020 for my lappy, since almost all the same hardware probably for yours also.
Get em if you need em.

Hi guys, I recently got this laptop and it's pretty good performance wise. Though I'm hitting the 115w TDP limit of the 2070 super while gaming and I'm thinking about doing a shunt mod of the card, but I can't find the shunts anywhere on the motherboard. Does anyone know where to find them ?

Under heavy load the max temp of the card is 70C, so the headroom is big to gain performance with a slightly higher TDP. I'm aware of the Mobile Pascal TDP Tweaker software, but it won't work with Turing GPUs.

Hey guys, I would like to activate the hidden menus in the Bios of PB71DF2-G. Please tell me the key combination for activation.

MSI and Lenovo use a key combination to activate a hidden menu in the BIOS. I think clevo also has a key combination.

HI, I have the PowerSpec 1530 version of this. CLEVO PB51DF2

My question is does any know if the the 1530 can have multiple hard drives? There is a slot for an additional m.2 and a 2.5" drive, which I installed, but its not detected in Bios or Windows.

I have 2 m2s in mine w no problem. Didn't try the 2.5. after installing you should see them in the bios. Windows won't see them until you use disk manager and format them.

Perfect, thanks. I just wanted to verify that the Powerspec 1530 could indeed use multiple drives. I can deal with the drives possibly being bad, though both of them not working is a little suspicious. They worked in the old laptop.

Should I format them first before adding them to the new laptop?

You should be able to format them in windows. Can u see them them in the bios after installing? Maybe do one at a time and see.

Neither of the drives show up in bios/windows.

Reading this, do you think its the same problem? I have 1 nvme WD Black and 1 m.2 SSD WD Blue in the 1530, only 1 detected, and the 2.5" not detected.

There are two modes. One is pciexpress or sata mode. In the bios you might need to change the settings. What bios is one your machine?

It is possible that your machine is limited to one drive. Even though the machines are the same, in order to save money the can order them with certain options disabled.

I just booted up mine. Sata mode is set to ahci. I have seperate controllers for nvme and Sata m2. Since both my drives are nvme I cant test and see what happens if you add a sata m2 vs nvme. If you put just one drive in at a time do you see it then? Take the boot drive out and replace it w one each and see if it shows in bios.

I will boot and look this evening when I get home. My bios looks like this (not my pic)

Just a pain in the ass taking the keyboard off to get the two screws.

I do know sata mode is set to ahci

    Windows>administrative tools>computer management>disc management
Make sure the drives are initialized and you can see if they are "greyed out" or whatever.
If they show in there you may have to change drive letters and stuff to enable them

Under the advanced tab make sure your set to ahci for sata. See the two off board nvme and Sata? If you click on them do they show drives?

They do not show drives and neither does disk management in windows.
