Does anyone know the battery life with the 460m and 485m on this machine? From forerunners review the 485m can do over 2 hours full brightness while playing HoN, but can the 460m do more?
-
I think mobiousblack (spelling?) got 2-3hrs. watching a blu-ray movie. Which is pretty amazing considering the specs and the moving ODD.

It may be difficult for you to notice the speed differences in both cards, as they are both super-fast, but the 6300 is tad faster.
Range-wise, however, you may notice a difference between two antennas vs. three antennas. -
Ok, more distance and slightly more speed. How good are the button dongles for BT?
Thanks! -
The 6300 has a higher theoretical maximum of 450mbs (vs the 6230's 300mbs) and has much better range because the 6300 has three antennae (vs the 6230's two antennae). Now that speed benefit means absolutely nothing if your signal can't reach it. So, for most people, the trade off is blue tooth for range. For me, I never use blue tooth products to the choice was easier. If you chose the 6230 (i see in your sig that you did) and never use blue tooth, then its kinda pointless to upgrade from stock. Might as well spend the extra $10 and get the 6300.
edit: started typing an answer, left for a bit and someone already answered haha -
I don't use BT, so I can't comment on that.. Sorry.
-
I typically use a BT mouse. I haven't done well with the pads. From what I've read here, the pad is a short coming on these because of the texture. So, I'll be on the mouse. Thanks for the quick responses!
-
Any updates on whether clevo has recieved the qs samples from intel and any updates on availability?
-
Wire mouse >> wireless, also BT drains battery pretty badly
-
-
Well somebody watched a bluray movie
. Atleast I got the time right
-
Hey hispeed
Xoticpc has not given me any ETA but I figure once they start rolling out of Clevo and into Sager hands we will get a better timeline of when the laptops will arrive. -
True. I would really like it if they told me if I was like #647 in line and they ship X number of units a week, but that's not gonna happen.
-
Sure, no problem. I took some with my m1530 on it for reference, since it's pretty much the same dimensions in terms of screen and depth. I put a credit card on one of the pics for scale, because my mouse is a bit bigger than most. (This isn't my desk, my girlfriend is using it for work right now, so it's the kitchen table- so don't question me on the thatched placemats as mouse pad!).
Cooler Master SF-19 Cooler:
As you can see, the 15" laptop is tiny on that thing. The cord for the USB ports is on the right, but I plugged it into the right USB ports on my laptop to show the length. It's probably between 1 and 2 feet long, so that's not an issue. -
That skin on your XPS is sick! Where did you get it?
-
-
-
Completely OT, but Epsilon what ISP do you have to get those amazing up/down speeds?
-
-
I noticed in the pictures that you provided, Epsilon, the gray rubber tops on the storm cooler? Mine are black which I prefer but just wondering. Cool addition if you did it.
-
Well my school is no where close to that. Probably 9 down/3-4 up.
Back on topic(sort of): I'm hoping that my intel 6300 and my future cisco linksys e4200 will make my internet browsing experience a little bit better. Of course, this all depends on what ISP I go with and what package I get. -

Hmm, I suddenly have a dead-pixel almost in the middle of the screen..
Does anyone know what the warranty policy on this is?
I have like 2 dead pixels on the screen, one is more towards the end. -
From whom did you buy it? How long have you had it? Did you buy the "Dead Pixel" warranty?
-
I bought it from Larry, or LPC-digital.
I did not get the dead pixel warranty, but I think there was a policy about "dead pixel in the center of the screen"?
Hmm.. I wonder why suddenly a dead-pixel popped up. -
-
Why me though..
Might have to contact Larry about this black thing lodged in the middle of my screen... -
-
-
Found this on Powernotebooks.com: "Sagers standard policy of guaranteeing no dead pixels within the center area of the screen equally divided by a # sign will remain unchanged for our standard orders."
Looks like you only need one dead pixel in the center area to take advantage of the guarantee.

Yeah, sad.
But Larry contacted me first like 5 min. ago,
Guess I made the right choice by going with LPC-digital, you should also feel grateful Bugler! -
WoW! That IS service! Very cool!
-
It is black regardless of what color I put on the screen, and won't be revived by any stuck pixel remover..
How can I test if it's totally dead or not? -
Yeah, I don't even have to measure it with the #. It's like lodged right there inside the vaguely drawn square. -
-
So you never said what it was that LPC offered to do for you? Is it the standard Sager dead pixel policy?
-
-
I got the upgraded matte screen so I opted for the pixel warranty -.-
How do you guys feel about the trackpad? Does everyone still find it horrible...or have you been able to adjust to the rubberness? -
Here's Xotic's for reference:

Hi all,
I'm having trouble deciding between:
P151HMB with a 460m, 2720QM and matte screen + Win7
vs
P150HMB with a 485m, 2720QM and glossy screen + no OS
My main hesitation is the glossy screen in the P150HMB, otherwise I'd order it today. I've never had a glossy screen and I concerned about the noise from reflections during office use but not so much gaming (usually at night).
I know the colors are more vivid on a glossy screen and the 485m is a massive jump from the 460m, but I'm wondering if any of you would have any input on if you find the glossy display in the P150HM annoying?
I'd order from a supplier such as Xotic or Mythlogic to get a the P150HM with a matte screen but unfortunately I'm based in Australia. -
There are now pics and videos of the 8150, as well as the 8170, which also has a glossy screen. If I recall correctly, most, if not all, were done indoors, so you should be able to tell if the glossiness will affect you. You can also go to an electronics store that sells laptops - you will not have trouble finding some with glossy screens. -
And if it helps at all, I have never, ever had a problem with my screen being glossy.
-
I think I'm going to go ahead and stay with the glossy also. That's all I've had for the last six years inside and outside. It hasn't been a problem for me.
-
I debated on the matte for a while.. But this is my first high end system, so I told myself go big or go home
I'm quite excited. The screen on my current lappy is a piece. It's super glossy and with the brightness all the way up, it's about as bright as my iPhone on 1/4-1/3 brightness. And I think it's been getting dimmer. It's lame..
-
-
Keep in mind that the screen I'm referring is on a crappy Dell inspiron 1545.. I think a few people on here were saying that the bightness capabilities of the 8150's screen were pretty much capable of over coming any reflections issues. I thought I read in like the toms review (or somewhere) that the brightness level of it was on par with that of the mac books..? -
I have a broken Acer aspire. I hate it. It has a glossy screen and I hated it for school. My lecture halls were always brightly lit and I could see the bulbs reflection.
Love my netbook! Matte screen in school is great =]
Matte screens are very nice so I got that option too. -
