Unfortunately not, only FHD available at this time.

Sager has provided guidelines on not listing the advertised pricing for these models or specifications for these models until the NDA is lifted.

Not sure why the PSU is larger, obviously Clevo did this for the additional Hard Drive and whatever internal reasons they had.

Released on the 9th, does that mean we can start placing orders that day? When do you guys start shipping?

Also, do any of the new Sandy Bridge models offer non-glossy screens? Thanks!

Regarding the PSU differences found out exactly why:

It’s due to the 2 systems uses different chipsets HM65 vs. HM67.

And that the HM67 supports Intel XTU, which it is being planned to be supported on the NP8170 but with some minor issues that still needs to be tweaked so it’s release ETA is end of jan’11. :D :D

As for the CPU's, f I remember right they are all Quads. All 3 models are getting the same CPU offerings.

Silly question, but when you say "All" do you just mean mobile Sandy Bridge chips or does that include the desktop processors? (I'm waiting for an i7-2600k 485m laptop to replace my 5 year old development computer).
    I'm guessing that means no?

Oh cool. I was just looking at Malibal and noticed the 485m is launched much like the configuration page for sagernotebook. Are you guys offering the desktop sandy bridge processors to replace the 980x? (I'd get the 980x, but it doesn't have the AVX instruction set that I want to play with).

    DAYUM!!!!
2920XM and 485 in a laptop the size of a NORMAL 15" laptop...
I'm impressed 1.6" thick at the thickest - that's just a tiny bit thicker than the XPS 15 and the other dimensions are actually smaller...

Clevo has god-tier engineers. It's ridiculous.

It's like they get bored and decide to prove that a 100W GPU can be placed in a 15" kit.

I wonder if Alienware will stick to the "All-Powerful" branding, on the M15X.

Now I'm hoping for Sager to buy Dell (lol(Not otherway around cause we've seen what happens when dell buys companies)) so that AW can start making MBP size gaming laptops with the design of a Camaro. :S

Clevo doesn't need Dell, that would just damage them. They have the ability to make an M17x clone looks wise if they wanted, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to make a similar design. However I think they're more focused on efficient designs than aesthetics. The x7200 is a pretty decent looking notebook so once they add backlit keyboard + SB, it will kick AW's butt.

Is it known whether these laptops will support GPU switching? I know they have both an integrated and discrete GPU but that doesn't always guarantee GPU switching(looking at my Envy 15)

What restricts the use of backlit keyboard? I mean why didn't they (Clevo/Sager) use it already on the 15'/17' laptops. I cannot think of any technical restrictions.

Nothing, I guess they just didn't feel the need to do it. Clevo has been slowly improving though. They built the X7200 with some metal rather than use full plastic (which I dislike) and are now going to finally add backlit keyboards. Hopefully they wise up and add an IPS display option to compliment their high end systems.

    How does a 2920XM compare to a core i7 950 desktop cpu ?

For now lga 1366 is still the king because its the only way you can get hexa core.

Sandy bridge hexa and octo core will need a new socket. ANd that new socket will have quad chaneel memory controller integrated.

It would be great to implement it on the 15' laptops as well but that's unlikely :(
What are the possibilities of installing a backlit keyboard yourself  , are they sold separately?

Which one does the NP8150 use, the HM65 or the HM67?

EDIT: Nevermind. Found the answer in the manual. It's going to use the HM65.

    just to be sure

    is 8130 a successor for 7130?

    8150 for 8690?

    8170 for 8760?

    1. if 8130 really a replacement for 7130 can you show me its pics plz if its thickness is like 7130 then it will be the thinnest one to house a 460m

    2. does it have optimus?

    3. does base cpu have 2630qm or 2720qm? i am looking for 2820qm with all other base configs will it be within 1300 usd for 8130 ?

all i want from nvidia is to release gtx 560m hopefully a rebrand gtx 470m if gtx 560m gets into 8130 and if 8130 chassis is like 7130 then it would kick

Hard to say. i7-2820QM is faster than the i7-920, so it should be in the ballpark.

For those planning to own the Sager NP8130, NP8150, or the NP8170 it would be good to start an official owners thread on this forum so appropriate posts can be made on the specific model since these models will be available to order in less than 48 hours... :)

Assuming the P150HM has some form of GPU switching, it's near double capacity battery combined with the more efficient Sandy Bridge should lead to some pretty great battery life compared to a W860CU.

I don't know, gpu switching sounds like a god send if they do implement it ofcourse but can the onboard IGP handle the 1080p screen for things like youtube, web browsing, and such?

I asked Origin about this and they said there will be no implementation of the IGP on Sandy bridge, I think they had no idea what I was talking about so there might still be hope.
