Just a note regarding the shipping status of this model. Due to the overwhelming orders for the Sager NP8150, this with the fact that Clevo is not sending large quantities of these each week... there can be delays. Of course this is how it usually is when brand new technology comes out. Especially with the new 485M card. Orders will be fulfilled as quickly as possible in the order of received, placed orders...![]()

I do apologize if there was some confusion about the Redline boost we offer. It always applies towards the GPU and depending on the model it will also apply toward the CPU. With the NP8150 we are not able to apply the Redline boost to the CPU's that are available on this model because of the chipset, at this time. Feel free to PM me if i can help with anything further.

Hey guys, this is my first post ever in this forum. A week ago i've bought my Turbo-X Iron i727-850 which is the "Greek" version of the Clevo P150HM and i have to say i'm pretty amazed by it. It is my first brand new Clevo laptop, although i did own an old D400 and coming from laptops like Asus, HP's and Sony's it's a big change for me. My laptop has the 2720QM, 8 gigs of RAM, 500GB HDD and the GTX460M. I was wondering, is it possible to upgrade to the 485M? Because the P150HM isn't available with it in Greece yet.

10chars. -
Nooo....
are there shipping delays with the 460m as well?..
I was placed on the shipping queue on monday last week! -
Are there any proper guides for opening up the P150HM yet?
-
-
babyhemi says mine is definitely going to be shipped this week..
Gotta trust him! -
-
This is middle ground for the 6970m!
I'll scoop it when it becomes available.. and I'll just sell the 460m.
I just couldn't justify myself paying +$500 for the 485m when the 6970m would be more than enough... -
-
This notebook is pure awasomeness I can game supreme commander with my 30 Dell screen everything maxed : no problem.
485m worths every penny my friend -
-
. But won't you loose an amount of money? Assuming you'll install it yourself: 1- cost of the card (probably more than upgrading price) + shipping the card + less money from the 460m because it will be a used card (where are you going to sell it?).
-
You can sell it here on NBR, eBay, wherever. It's MXM IIIB, but not sure if it's proprietary IIIB in any way. Some manufacturers stray from the spec and it's not compatible with other machines.
-
Well, the cards shouldn't be priced that bad.
I mean, if I were to shell out 400 for the upgrade,
and sell the 460m for at least 150? It would be an upgrade for 250, which is half the price upgrade to 485m.
-
AND the beauty of babyhemi's warranty will work into play...
he'll let me upgrade the cards at the retailer's price, which means it would be a lot cheaper for me, so I just decided to go for the 460m. If it proves more than enough power, I'll probably hold off, but as ATi cards are very attractive in price.. I probably will make the jump.. -
You can clearly see the evolution between your upgrade.
Even the memory is going to be important in order to avoid crash in late game.
My M17xR1 with GTX260 SLI couldn't manage what my P150HM is doing today: this is amazing.
It can also play black ops with everyting max on 2560x1600 -> this is a 3kgs 15inch notebook -

I've just been told that Sager is waiting for my notebook body's to it should be for the first week of FEB and that the ETA for my notebook to ship is the 7th of Feb. They are filling orders on a first come first serve. (My order was given last monday evening).
Can't wait!

I used to own an MSI! -
For the HDTV lovers, I confirm that the notebook recognize the TV without problem. Sound and image on screen, plug in/plug out: no bug it's very easy.
I used to have problem with my HD5970 desktop, couldn't get the sound to work even if recognized by PC. No problem with 485m.
-
Anyone knows of any extensive benchmarks comparing all four of the new i7s? It would be nice to have a head-to-head comparison on the same chassis (i.e. 8150 or 8170).
-
Alright well my buddy recieved my laptop yesterday, we did a little testing. His room is not what I would say cold. Anyways furmark at max settings set to burn mode brought the gpu up to 89c after 10 minutes, and prime brought my cpu up to 83 and stayed there for quite a while.
Now during gaming, I asked him to do a few loops in crysis max settings, didn't care about the fps, this was just for heat testing. GPU MAXED out at 80c while the cpu hit the mid 60's on all cores. Does that seem good to you guys? -
Also did he press fn f1 during the gaming tests to keep the fans at max? -
Edit: As far as I can tell the icon on the F1 key is a touchpad icon, you sure it brings up the fan to full speed?
Also do I have to tell him to install additional drivers for the fan thing to work? -
It's Fn + 1 not F1. And no, he doesn't need any drivers for it to work.
-
80c for GPU isn't bad at all for maxed crysis loop and same for CPU in mid 60's. Yes all predicated on ambient room temperature, but won't vary that much unless the room is 60F or 80F.

Alright thanks for the input guys I'll be sure to tell him about it. I'm sure having the fan on full throttle will definitely bring down temps.
-
I'm wondering why they don't offer the GTX 470M instead of only the 460 and 485, it would be an 'in between' option/price. I would like to have the 485, but it's quite a step (500$).
Eric -
I agree Eric, I know for the 17" model they do offer the GTX 470, the only thing I can think is that something related to the heat or size cannot work with NP8150.
It would be a much better middle ground to allow for upgrades down the road. -

The issue is a huge shortage of video memory worldwide. That is why we don't have the supply of all these models that have just been introduced.
Once video memory becomes more available you will see the nVIDIA GeForce GTX 470M w/1.5GB GDDR5 in the Sager NP8150. -
I have a question for those of you that have not only received your units but also had time to use them a little bit.
How have you found the keyboard to be so far? I am going to be using mine for school and programming among other things, so I will be using the keyboard quite a bit. Have you noticed any flex in the keyboard (an unacceptable amount of flex I should say)? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks! -

Ones were asking to look at the new Intel Advanced-N 6230 + Bluetooth Combo card...
-
ordered a strikeforce usb 3.0 hub cooling pad, should bring the temps down to around 76-80 I would think. -
So Xoticpc is offering the matte screen for the NP8150 for $240 extra (i probably won't be getting it), but is this the screen that the NP8130 has?
-
Can any of the resellers put together a video on how to swap panels out?..
I hope to do it later when I need to, and the videos would help... -

Is that a good configuration? -
4GB of RAM is enough since you can upgrade it later on and WOW doesn't need all that 8GB of RAM. I would invest on a better WiFi card though.
-
Yes, then that is a good configuration.
May I ask if you intend to upgrade the GPU in the future for gaming?
Or are you just a casual gamer? -
I'm not an expert but for your uses, you don't need 8GB of RAM, wait for the notebook gurus, they will confirm
Edit: I'm too late
