Yes sir :) We are going over the basics and then will go into more in depth of the capability of what this can do OC'd. Our scores above are out of the box and we have not even touched the clocks on the CPU or GPU. ;)

how much you guess for 480m sli out of the box? it almost 100% improvement over one card machine. I remembered Speedy got 8000 gpu score out of the box for D900F.

15k GPU is only slightly faster than dual 5870s. Can you guys run these benchmarks with Physx off so we can have an accurate idea of the CPU numbers as well as the true vantage score? Thanks.

Yeah, out of the box the GPU only score is nothing special.
Also, 80C in Vantage at stock is a bit high for the GPU. Many games will push higher than that.
The CPU temps on the other hand are amazing!

I think I am having a nvidia driver problem. In my first vantage run with physx off, I got driver errors during certain vantage displays...I will work on it... :)

BTW, This machine is ROCK SOLID! A very nice quality feel. This is also the best LED display I have used on a laptop to date. The fans under load are no louder than the W880CU...and this baby has 4 good sized ones!!

    @BabyHemi,

Nice run! Comparing to Justin's results, I see that his CPU load temps are slightly lower but the GPU's are 8C higher. So if your ambient is lower, - than your CPU is OC'ed during this run, am I right? If so, could you run Vantage with the CPU @ stock?

This was a totally stock run with it's 980x CPU. I think for all of this 'horse power' under the hood, the temps are very good!!

Hmm definitely will jump on one of these, with 470M SLI, or will wait to see if the 485M is real. Or will wait and see on the Mobility 6870.

Hell, I don't know what to do anymore, other than to skip the GTX 480M.

Yes I agree I love strong benchmarks and low temps but as said if it sounds like an mx17 its a bust. This looks good to me, putting a smile on my face for sure. If its quiet mark me down for one.

Vantage scores look solid. I get 14k GPU with CfX MR5870s with i7 920XM at stock settings (no OC). The GTX 480Ms have the benefit of being saturated with 6 cores running at 3.33ghz, though I don't think it'll make that big of a difference on the GPU front.

I along with others (I'm sure) want to see how far this thing can overclock. This machine would truly be a monster if both GPUs can OC to desktop GTX 465 levels.

I am pretty impressed by those 06 numbers but have to wonder how much of that is due to he CPU and how much the gpus. Since historically NVIDIA has been weak in 06.

And again still with physx installed.....run vantage with ppu disabled in the options tab. that is how everyone runs vantage....

But those temps are great, how was the noise?

The GPU score is about what an OC'd 5870 can get. Try breaking 18k in Vantage, the R2's top GPU score is 18,627. Some Mafia 2, Left 4 Dead 2, GTA IV, Crysis Warhead and Batman Arkham Asylum benchmark runs would be great if you got the time.

    P.S. disable physx.

can you run the GPU core at 530 and memory 1350 that was my max on the D900F with stock voltage ? :)

also can you run physx on the CPU that way is same as disabled?

Doing a run this way now. There was some noise since i have it set in bios to be always on. All 4 fans are spinning. :)

EDIT we are reloading with a SSD and will update with the benchmarks.
