VRAM is not usually a concern and it's rare to be able to monitor it.

Hello everyone,
This is my first post here so I would like to greet everyone . Now to the matter at hand. I've just done my first repasting of my 2,5 years old Clevo w150erq. Needless to say the paste was in a "rock" state and was very hard to remove. I've cleaned everything and applied Gelid GC Extreme paste. What temps should I be looking at? At the moment my temps are as follows:
CPU: Idle - 55C, Medium load (browsing internet, watching youtube) - 65C, Heavy load (Battlefield 4) - 84C (used to be around 94C) ...
GPU: Idle - 55C, Heavy load (Battlefield 4) - 74C ...
My specs:
Intel i5 2340m...
Nvidia Geforce 650M 1GB...
Should I try and repaste it again? Ive read somewhere that the paste reaches its maximum potential after few hours of heavy load. Is that correct? To be true I expected more from repasting ...
Thank You very much for answering and help...

I have tried drivers from diffrent sites, tried resoring Windows built-in drivers, still nothing.
When i plug in headphones audio works just fine. But not from Built-in speakers.
Sometimes the VIA Audio device dissappears then only the High Definition Audio Device shows, which has an triangle over it and same error code as described above.
Has anyone been able to solve this problem?
EDIT:
It started working after it went to sleep mode or something, but when i rebooted the sound stopped working again.
Also, it does not work via HDMI (This is probably the faulty HD Audio Device in device manager).
EDIT2:
HDMI Audio now works, it was due to Intels Audio driver not getting installed when istalling VGA driver via Windows.
So remember to use Intel VGA driver from Clevos homepage for Audio atleast, or maybe even Audio driver from Intel itself works.
Still having problem with built-in speakers. But as soon as i put computer to Sleep/Hibernation/Standby mode and then resume it, audio starts to work normally. And everytime i reboot the compuert, audio stops working from speakers. Seems it does not get loaded properly.Last edited: Jan 2, 2015 -

am i right in thinking its the same model as sager np6165??? i find it hard as i dont speak french so cannot get much info about the drivers etc.
can i use sager np6165 as refrerance to install drivers?? i tried installing the latest geforce drivers and it crashes/hangs my system upon installing...im currently on 365.10 drivers
this is my 1st time using an oem laptop and im finding it hard to update everything..i also cannot even run a 3d mark test as this crashes aswell
any help and info about the machine would be greatly appreciated as would direct links to new driver...i know it only has an i3 processor but im pretty sure i should be able to run xcom2 on low settings @ 1400x900 res but im getting long pauses/loadtimes when in game and about 15 fps..
the laptop has been upgraded with an ssd and 8gb ram also
thanks for any help/info -
Owner reporting after ~3.5 years of use.
Still functional although two issues cropped up - one minor one major.
The minor one is that a couple keys are starting to glitch. If you hold them down for anything, for a frame they'll forget they're being pressed before recognizing the key is pressed again. This is mostly a concern if you use WASD or other keys for movement (causing you to randomly stop), and it will probably affect those keys first.
The major one is the fan which started to make rattling noises at random intervals. I contacted support, got a new replacement fan. Tested it - the new fan was making noises as well. May have been defective - asked for another, was sent another, and so on. After the third replacement fan was making noises, they refused to send another fan or progress any further.
I've attempted to add oil to the fans but there's no point of entry underneath the sticker. If shake the laptop the rattling goes away for a couple seconds - but this is obviously not a working solution. The fan is custom fit for the laptop, so I don't think I can just get a fan from a different manufacturer.
The remaining components are working correctly. Maybe I can harvest it for parts? The noise is driving me nuts and the experience with support and poor quality replacement fans has severely damaged my trust in the company. -

It may not be the fan but a piece of plastic caught somewhere or one of the supports is loose.
-
I spun the fans manually outside of the laptop and they were making the rattling noise.

My 650m is overheating to 94 degrees and throttling...is the gpu removable so i can apply thermal paste ? or is it soldered to the board??
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
The GPU is soldered but can still be repasted, make sure you check the fan and fins are clean first.

can anyone say if they have used these bios updates and if the process is straight forward??? im currently on 1.03 and it looks like its well worth updating...fan control etc and microcode updates... ive only ever updated bios before ..what is ec firmware for>>

The GPU is your likely limit, it's getting on a bit now. You could look into tweaking it for some gains.

any idea why my card reader doesnt work??? it can be seen in device manager and i have reinstalled the drivers... but when i put in an sdhc 8gb card nothing happens...

Have you tried a different kind of media and checked the pins inside for damage?

Have you checked to see what types of cards the computer can read? There are various versions of SD cards that have come out with faster speeds and higher storage. There might be some limitation caused by the different types of SD cards. Have you tried other cards as well?

not yet.. its an 8 gb sdhc card.... i thought my clevo w150 had an 9 in 1 card reader?? its realtek card reader

Wondering if anyone can help...
I made a stupid mistake and flash wrong EC on my W150ERQ. It started the flash and then shutdown.
Now when I turn on the laptop, there's nothing on the screen. The battery led is lit and the power led is blinking.
When press and hold any key, the power button light and vga light flickers while the fan spins loudly.
Anyway I can fix this?
