I just ordered directly from Sager. The sales rep I was speaking to replied that he received my order and they had that model in stock and would ship it by the end of the week. So hopefully not too long!

I believe the matte and glossy screens are the same models (B116XW03 v0 vs B116XW03 v1, iirc) , just with different coatings.

The matte screen might have better viewing angles by virtue of reflecting less light, but in terms of color distortion they should be the same.

Surprisingly, I'm not all that "giddy" about it as I have been about past purchases, I don't feel that OMG got to check the status every hour or so like I used to. Guess that kind of thing has worn off for me.

Side note, I would love to buy one of those SIM card adapters, but I don't want to purchase it from their site, and I can't find any on Ebay.

So if i am just using this inside any reason to really get a Matte vs glossy?

I would rather spend the extra $100 in upgrading the HD to the 750 seagate hybrid.

Mine shipped from RJTech today. I didn't do crazy fast shipping since I have other plans this weekend but I should get it on the 8th. Hopefully the rest of the stuff is here by then too, I got standard/free shipping on everything, sweating it a little now.

Also, i went to the apple store today (blasphemous) and i had a look at their 11.6 inch. It wasn't too small, seems just about right. Definitely getting me one now.

Is there anywhere I can see one of these machines (or any other Clevo) in person, like at a major retailer?

The reason I ask is because I want to try out the keyboard, ideally on this model if at all possible. Is it doeble or am I SOL and have to hope that the construction is good? Anyone have any bad experiences with the keyboards on smaller Clevos?

They will not be at any major retailer that I know of. No Clevo machines ever are. You have a 30 day return guarantee though with Sager. You just have to pay the return shipping, so if the keyboard is that much of a turnoff for you, you can return it.

I just noticed how tiny the keyboard on this thing is. Does anyone have a measurement? It looks like it is 10" at most - how cramped is it? Ill be using this computer on my bar exam in July so I need typing to be comfortable...

Here is a mini review done by AnandTech http://www.anandtech.com/show/5792

Unfortunately Anand doesn't seem to know about Eurocom's infamously bad reputation and lack of ethics. Or perhaps he would have tried to get a review model from a reputable company instead, regardless, it is a mini review of Clevo's W110ER. Hopefully he'll have a detailed review in the next few days.

Nice mini review. Are they aware that the m11x is phased out now? They seem confused as to why it's gone from Dell's site.

If you are in a controlled lighting environment then you should spend it on the faster HD. Matte comes into need when you can't control the lighting environment, be that because you're outside or because you're at work or in a public place.

Here's some BF3 gameplay with the w110er. Looks like it can handle high settings without dipping below 30fps.

I'm guessing it can put out a consistent 45fps+ after turning off motion blur and hbao and using the dx11 render path tweak.

They are a reputable company. I've ordered from them several times for parts, and although they have a high price to ship its because they used certified airmail and the price doesn't go up if you buy a dozen from the price for one. What I've done in the past is ordered extra and sold it on ebay.

Quite a few others around here have had similar issues as well, including me. That's all I'll say on that, not going to get into it anymore.

That's excellent performance for this little thing. It should handle games well for quite some time.

That's quite impressive, more so with ultra settings.
Now just think what you can get OCing it a bit.
Just looked up my order and it says it's Shell Allocated (from MYTHOLOGIC meaning) The main shell for your order has been designated and reserved, some parts may still be pending.
Man mine can't come quick enough :)

the bottleneck here is the video card, right? i dont know if you'd know this, but you'd know more than me, but how would that affect power consumption? because I'm definitely with you there on the OCing, but I dont' want to trash my battery life in the process

Hey HTWingNut, are you planning on making another "Definitive Overclock and Optimization Guide" for this laptop once you get it? Cause the one you made for the dv6z helped me a ton and honestly the fact that you're getting the np6110 is making me lean towards getting one as well.

OCing the GPU always uses more power and reduces battery life but then again I would probably never game without it being plugged in. Personally I've never had a laptop with optimus and not sure how it works exactly when plugged in or not.
Great question though hopefully someone with more hands on time with optimus can say if a laptop uses the discrete card or integrated GPU when not plugged in.
Basically I'm saying I really don't know anymore than you do.

Overclocking shouldn't affect battery life as long as you're not gaming, due to optimus.

haha nice. well i think i'm ordering my laptop tomorrow, i'm really excited for it. but i think if i plug in my laptop i'm not going to plug in the battery, because that'll destroy the battery really fast. so i'll have 120W from the laptop power supply.. so OC shouldn't really be a power issue. now i'm kinda worried about heat issues though, especially since IVB has been noted to run really hot

Ordered on Monday. I found the best price at LPC-digital; they matched XOTIC and then gave a student discount.
As far as quality of product goes, we'll see as I haven't ordered from them before, but I hear they're comparable to XOTIC in terms of customer support.

There simply is no competition. If you want a powerful computer less than 14 inches and can stand the fact it doesn't have built-in WWAN or illuminated keyboard, this is a no-brainer.

Are you trying to implement WWAN just like me?

I bought this one and it arrived yesterday. My all important M570 fits well in one of the pockets and I assume the power supply will fit in the other. I won't be able to confirm until my W110ER arrives on Tuesday though. FWIW I really like it so... *fingers crossed*

Assuming the W110ER works like an M11x, optimus settings are adjustable in your power config. You can tell it to operate in either "balanced" or "performance" mode, and this can be set for both the plugged and unplugged states.

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but 1 inch thickness may be inadequate unless the case has some serious stretchability to it. The laptop is supposedly 1.5 inches thick, so I ordered a 13 inch case with adequate room.

Could somebody (one of the resellers on here) measure the depth of the palm rest for me? I have an m11x right now and the palm rest is barely deep enough for me. I just want to verify it will be comfortable before I order one, as I had issues with netbooks being far too small for my hands in the past.
