No problem at all with the screen, luckly. I noticed one thing though, from Device Mangager I've disabled the NVIDIA dedicated graphic card, and now in Obsidian Fan Control, the CPU temperature is about 56-57°, it seems the dedicated GPU makes the laptop running very hot while plugged, how can i solve it?

What is the average and max utility of the GPU when plugged in?

Until yesterday, it was about 60-65°, now it reaches about 86-90°after few minutes i've plugged the charger, as if there's a running background app which requires the dedicated GPU.
In task manger, there aren't such processes running though..

    I meant utility, not temps.

If there is no increased utility there's something wrong with the gpu (maybe in need of repaste or tgermal pad). If there's increased load it might be a software issue.

I've enabled again the dedicated GPU, now the laptop runs fine with temperatures, very weird..I've also checked with HW64 tool, no processes running in background. Hope it won't happen again in the future..

Here we go again, now the touchpad stops working suddendly, as if there's an
incompatibility with some drivers. Do you know if there's a keyboard shortcut for enable/disable the touchpad and where can i find the touchpad driver, in order to install it again? I checked the Clevo site, but i couldn’t find it anywhere

Not always, it happens randomly. For example, now i have turned on the pc and the touchpad didn't work, as soon as i connected an external wireless mouse, the touchpad has started working. Once i turn off the laptop, here we go again, with the touchpad that stops working after the reboot.

It used to be fn+F1 to toggle the touch pad on clevo machines. I used Obsidian updater for my drivers so I wouldn't know about them. You coulld also try and update your Bios and EC.

Is there somewhere to find a listing of the diagnostic shortcut keys, and Diagnostic indications by way of LEDs? There are a few I've found through trial and error..

I believe that is a setting that either Clevo or Sager can lock behind the curtain. I saw one laptop where that was toggled to expose the Advanced Features menu.. It was mind blowingly exhaustive, everything that was available to tweak with. It took me a while just to find the setting to turn it back off. Of course, updating the firmware to current over-wrote that, so it was back to basic again. It was fun to see how much there was to mess up with though, and there was plenty of it. Still, there were a few settings I would rather have been left open to change, like the Optimus setting, or Numlock ON at post..

Anyone able to comment on the webcam? I'm not hearing great things about it but is it passable? I don't want to look like I'm using a 20 year old laptop when I'm on Teams. Looking for something I can game on and use for work. When I'm at home I use a external webcam but don't want to have to bring it with the laptop everywhere. I had a razer blade advanced and it was the worst webcam I've ever seen on a laptop. My $400 pavilion has a better webcam...

Unfortunately, the webcams on these have not matched what I would expect to find on a laptop of this price tag. Sure they have a thin Bezel, but (if I remember right) the webcam is 1 megapixel in resolution, and today's standard would make anything less than 3MP "not so great". The forward facing camera on my Samsung S9 is 8MP, and could fit into that bezel just fine. Up your game Bison.

Many resellers out there, you are best getting an exact match usually so if you use an external monitor to get a hardware is on the panel to tell you the model or take it out in preparation and look at the sticker on the back.

I wanted to get some stuff off of so I took it off and put it on my asus scar 3 1070 and that froze in the similar way but it took alot longer.

So I tried switch drives and I played "The division 2" which would freeze between 20-45 minutes and my clevo didn't freeze even though I played it a couple of hours with my buddy.

I just replaced the screen so I am currently redownloading my games on a new Drive to test to do more testing. Only reason I can think of why it the troubled M.2 drive is taking alot longer on my asus is because I lost the drive cover so the drive is in open air and the clevo is enclosed.

The drive that I believe is giving me trouble is the Inland Platinum 2TB SSD, So I swapped it with a 970 EVO Samsung 1TB drive. Hopefully I didn't speak to soon an still have issues. So wish me luck with the new drive I will post my result after I test it with some my more demanding games once they redownload.

So after download my games on to the Samsung M.2 Drive I ran some benchmarks and HMW showed my temp Spike into the 90's and my laptop got hot but it didn't freeze like when I had the Inland M.2. Drive. So yeah it was the Drive and now my clevo is running like its suppose. Hopefully I don't break anything else on my laptop.

How did you manage to fix this?

I had the exact same problem months ago and disconnected the battery in the end.

The past 3 days I've had it twice and just left my laptop to run flat overnight.

I checked my minidump and it looked like either usbhub3 or a Bluetooth driver as the culprit but both are up to date so I'm a bit stumped!

This sounds like your EC encountered a critical error if even the power button stopped responding. Running the system76 firmware myself and have not had anything that bad happen.
Consider updating your EC to fix long term after you pop the battery for a reset.

Hi guys. Potentially buying the 2080S Max Q version of this soon for an incredible price. However it's got the wrong keyboard on it...

How easy is it to replace the keyboard?

    Thanks!

Super easy, mine had a blank keyboard with tacky stickers on.

You basically open the back up then there are two holes iirc you pop a screwdriver or something in and the keyboard pops up. Then all you do it disconnect the ribbon cable and put your new one in, click it back into place.

I contacted Bestware and they sold me a keyboard for €79 plus €15 shipping. I couldn't find it in stock anywhere else.

I have the same one with the 2080, it's an excellent laptop but I had a few issues with it which aren't necessarily specific to Clevo:

-Had trouble undervolting on the stock BIOS
-Clevos fan control software is awful so I paid the €30 for Obsidian's, laptop sounds like a jet otherwise
-Had some crashes recently, I think drivers are the culprit but I couldn't power my laptop off without disconnecting the battery or running it flat.

The only thing that could be improved really is the screen. I'm not sure how it compares to 30 series now too.

Ah I see. I'm being offered it for £700 which I'm finding it hard to say no to. The updated RTX3070 models that I'm looking at are nearly twice that price so I've got some thinking to do!
