Agreed that it is a lifesaver, in fact, given the state of my keyboard, it is the only way to type in passwords if I don't have the wireless keyboard, but you have to concede that it is not for everyday use, especially with a touchpad. You really need a touchscreen for it to be convenient. I'm thinking of linking my phone to the laptop so I can type on my phone's screen, as even that is way better.

Most people seem to be getting on ok, it's worth slotting a replacement in.

Should I buy keyboards in bulk? Put in a new one every couple of months?

There are others with similar issues.

My problem is that I'll have to import these - not available in my country.

Any idea where can get a hold on the laptop manual? It seems to be a software issue, the moment I launch flexikey the key would instantly pop back into action.

No luck on the LCD cable reseat, the symptoms seem to be deteriorating every time I start the laptop.

Good idea not to get another Clevo laptop from now on. No confident, even my local seller started to stock up the other brand from China.

Go to https://premamod.wordpress.com/ maintenance tab. You need P95XHR.
You can buy an LCD cable online. AliExpress.com has them fairly cheap, but it takes a while to get delivered.

New laptop screen arrived, got this at about $40 from Taobao with shipping (Grade A+ no dead pixels). Apparently the screen goes even cheaper if it has dead pixels.

You may see the some scratches but that's fine for the protection layer, we can remove that layer once installation is complete. (See top right corner)

This laptop uses 30-pin, the latest one come in gold plated which is pretty cool.

The dead pixel ones are getting harder for them to shift these days.

Hi all, I wrote on here some time ago about booting issues with my machine - technician since has discovered that it's most likely the CPU fan has gone bad (he plugged a different one in and it booted up fine). I'll obviously need to replace my fan, but can't find one anywhere for love or money - there was one offered on aliexpress but turned out not to work, and the seller has proved...difficult...ever since. Does anyone have any idea where else I might be able to source a 3-wire variety of the CPU fan? Cheers!

You should either mention the model number of your laptop every single time you ask for help, or do the sensible thing and put the relevant details in your signature.

Does anyone know of a good quality, low wattage, light/portable charger that I can use with this laptop? I won't be gaming while using it, and I'll have low CPU power usage (Intel XTU says <20W TDP) so wattage doesn't matter much, but I don't want to fry my motherboard with a low quality charger.

Just get the tip size right and the wattage above what you know you consume and you should be fine. Don't use a switchable tip universal, the sockets you attach the tips to wear out fast and can short.

I have the same problem with specific keys not working on the keyboard. Started with my w key registering for a while after I stopped pressing it, walking forward in Fibal Fantasy XIV, now a year later certain keys just don't work. I ordered from HIDEvolution so I reached out to them for support.

I had an issue with mine a few months back where certain keys would stop working periodically. Over the course of a few weeks it got worse and worse until some of the keys would not work at all. Tried reseating the cables under the keyboard but that didn't help. The fix for me was to loosen the two keyboard screws on the bottom of the laptop some. Keyboard has been fine ever since.

So I spoke with HIDEvolution. They are quoting me $115 to get a new keyboard shipped to me. When I google for compatible keyboards I am finding them for about half that price, but I do not know how reputable the sellers are. What are peiples thoughts, does anyone have a recommended site where they bought a new keyboard for this that works well

Friends I am experiencing an issue with my Clevo P950HP6.
The notebook is shutting down while playing.
It happens randomly, without a certain time, it can be with an hour or with 2 hours of game.
I formatted the notebook, it has the latest build of windows 10, all drivers installed.
I checked the temperatures and they are great (CPU 60º and GPU 77º), CPU with undervolting of -100.

Has anyone seen something like that?
Do you have any idea what's going on?

    Thanks for the reply.
I didn't know that thermal pads could be exchanged.
They are deformed, crushed, they have changed their shape.
    I will arrange the exchange.

You should only see impressions of the chips and there should be very minimal if any cracking.

You may find if you flash it with the update again it may work as the file should only touch the areas it is going to update.

    hi guys,
I got this laptop from 2.5 years now. My chasis was deformed on edges, below the keyboard. Now it's kinda U-shaped and when closed some keyboards leave marks on the screen.

I usea soft cloth between the keyboard and a screen to prevent it from happening.

Is it normal? Do anyone else encounter such an issue?
    https://photos.app.goo.gl/t1sWj2cXbkRG3Sg67

Are there any other known issues for this model? Mine seems to have minijacks broken (not working with any headphones).

Plus I got LCD panel cable broken, as the screen flickers each time when you move the screen up or down.
What kind of LCD panel cable I need to buy to replace the original one? Is it standard 40 pin one? How to find one in the store?

Your battery swelled? You should address the deform first, i would change the battery for the start. Regarding cables, maybe contact your resellers?

Hello, my bios is version 1.05.12 and EC 1.05.09 (EC latest version).

I will update the bios to 1.05.14.

Do I need to update the EC again to the same version? or can i update only the bios?

Usually the right EC version is included with the BIOS, if it's 100% the same then no need.

Could you explain how exactly you update the BIOS? And where you found the update?

I found this website after 2 years of owning my P950 from PCSpecialist (UK): Support | Drivers | CLEVO Computer | Integrator of configurable computer systems (clevo-computer.com)

but I don't know how to install the BIOS.

Been a while since my last update of failing keyboard. Bought a replacement keyboard from HIDEvolution, it also has failed.

Now the computer monitor flickers, or shuts down and one of the fans rattles like crazy. Honestly feel like my venture into trying a Sager Clevo was a complete disappointment.

LCD flickering, check if changing the display angle impacts it, if not then it needs a new LCD panel most likely.

Thanks. It has occasionally not turned on, and other times works fine. Seems to have most issues around or shortly after opening or closing the lid. I'll keep watching it, but mainly use external monitors.

I cleaned the fan and ordered super lube to reapply lubricant when it arrives on Sunday. Hoping that will fix the fan at least until the replacement cpu fan that I ordered comes in a month. If Anything, I guess the positive of this laptop is that I am learning a lot about how to fix all of these problems myself...

Your LCD issue is most likely due to a worn out EDP cable, not too difficult to replace if you can get a replacement (make sure you get the right pin count depending on your panel, probably 40pin if it is 144 Hz / 4K, but double check). The P950 in particular has notoriously bad quality fans as well (probably due to how thin they are), and the infamous keyboard design flaw. I had to replace mine numerous times over the 3 years I had one. I guess they cheaped out on some components. But fortunately, all these fixes are relatively easy and very cheap, so shouldn't put you off Clevo in general as they do tend to beat out competitors pricing wise for the same spec, and the rest of the build quality is usually really good.

Try going back to older graphics drivers. I'm having similar issues and they seem to be less irritating with older drivers. Perhaps they changed the timings a bit. Tapping the screen sometimes helps. Opening the settings page sometimes helps. Really, very disappointed with Clevo. And the P950 keyboard is NOT cheap.

A physical tap making a difference does seem to point at the cable.
