    the optane ssd

dont think theres a 2080 announced yet. at most 2080 MQ or full 2070. clevo should have something new out soon within a month or two, just have to wait for HID evolution to come out with it.

Get a fast SSD or wait for optane dimms, the pain of mods is just not worth it.

Offhand, anyone know why a GTX1080 GPU would randomly disconnect while using 2 screens (laptop @ 1440, DisplayPort to external monitor @ 4k)? It's an easy "fix" with rebooting, but it has only started happening in the last month or so, so I'm curious if there's something obvious I've missed, or is the internal card just dying? Note that the GPU crash has happened when i've been reading a webpage through Chrome and while the computer was idling on the desktop. I tried disabling the screen turning off after 10 minutes, thinking that it was similar to the hibernation bug from days of old, but the disconnects continue.

    Any thoughts?

Maybe check the quality of the cable by trying a different one.
Also check that the cables are thoroughly plugged in.

These were some of the things i did when mine was doing what your saying yours is doing now.

Mini DP cables are a bit finicky, I got lucky with a value one from my local store, it never has put a foot wrong.

Guys, with the Prema bios in place what is the max ram speed that this machine can take without any issues ? (2666/2800/2933/3000)
If you aren't sure can you please tell me what memory you have in your machine, brand, speed, cas and size.... I am aiming for an 32Gb total Ram so every detail will help me make a purchase.
    Thank you !

That's pretty good, it can depend on board and IMC. 3000Mhz tends to be a good price point.
