What's your FPS on the Ghost recon built in benchmark at ultra (optimized setting by nvidia geforece experience)? Before I wast getting around 75fps but when I install the windows 10 creators update, the fps drops to 55fps.

Just use this https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24075/Intel-Extreme-Tuning-Utility-Intel-XTU- to set your processor to its default clock.

If you're "not good with overclocking" then don't go upping your multipliers to x47, it sounds like you don't understand the risks of what you're doing. Back it off to x44 and add an undervolt (set 'core offset' negative) and your temps will be reasonable, which was your original concern.

ok i changed it all cores to 44 and -150v and got bosd spam... so i returned to original settings and then lowered the clocks by .1 and the the voltage offsets to -110
I got it from HIDevolution like this... I didnt change anything:/
How much should the core offset be?

Seems like yours can't handle what mine can. Good that you can get it down though! You should see cooler temperatures now.

My apologies I didn't think a reseller would ship a unit in that configuration with those temperatures! You should contact them and let them know.

    NO!

    @Elyask

You never wanna go as low as a -150mV offset on a 7700K, that was a good offset for 4.2 GHz on a 6700K and would be very unstable for a 7700K running at 4.4 GHz which is why you got those BSODs!

Max undervolt I would set for a 7700K is -100mV, then open Clevo Control Center, Choose the Performance Plan, then click the icon on the bottom left (System Program) and set the fan profile to Overclocking which makes the fan spin up faster to keep the temps low

Don't use Throttle Stop, just set the undervolt in XTU until the Prema BIOS is out for the KM1

PS: Why did you even want to undervolt more than -100mV in the first place?

As long as the CPU is in the 80-91C temp range it's fine

Why no? It's been working fine for me for a few days now and a prime95 stress test proved as such.

The key word here is *for you*, you might have gotten lucky, you can't assume that's a safe undervolt for all 7700Ks, -150mV is stretching it too far.

Synthetic stress tests are not enough to test stability. Try long gaming sessions, try opening 50 tabs in Google Chrome in one shot and see if it crashes.......

I have a bookmarks folder in Chrome called Software Updates which has like over 50 bookmarks to check the latest software updates. Sometimes I would *think* that my undervolt/overclock is stable as it passes AIDA64 Stress test just fine but when I launch that bookmarks folder in one shot, the computer freezes.

That's how it is, the fans run at low speed when the temps are at a certain level, once they reach 80C or so, the fans speed up to keep the CPU cool. that's how things go. This is a desktop class CPU in a small laptop chassis, it needs to be properly cooled

I'll take it down a notch then as you suggest then. I mean it doesn't show signs of screwing up or crashing while playing Andromeda or Wildlands but, if it matters in the long run, I'll take it to -100mV.

that's the right thing to do. In fact, the stock BIOS from Clevo has it pre-set to -100mV

If you don't see any error infront of you doesn't mean it's not a risk, stuff can happen in the background like data corruption or other errors that are hidden

After installing the Creators Update and the latest driver. My SLI setup has completely broke. All my games lag and crash while running SLI. Turn it off, and everything goes back to normal. I don't know what the tell to do at this point. Wildlands locks up and Andromeda lags with every menu and then has a driver failure after about five minutes.

I contacted hidevolution support and Mr. Zoltan changed tweaked the OC profile on XTU .. it does look better but i havnt been able to test it on gaming yet, Ill see how it goes and report back.
I was also surprised to know that running games will get the temps to 100c and that i must keep the fans at max speed if i wanna play something on 1440P.

Clean new install of Windoze "Creators" OS and then the latest driver? Or just updated the OS, then install new drivers without use of DDU Uninstaller first in safe mode?

Not clean but did use DDU in safe mode. After fiddling around with it more. It only happens if my main monitor is the one that is connected via DP. It be slow, crash, and bug out. Use the laptop screen and I'm golden with zero issues. Now, change the main screen from the external monitor to the laptop screen and still have extended display, the game still stays on the external monitor but now the laptop display is the main display; no crashing or lag! The game plays on the external just fine. This is truly bizarre and I'm not sure why this is happening and it's extremely annoying.

Remember the Crapstone Edition isn't fully finished (read the link). Expect bugs. Best bet is a clean install or go back to what you had.

Man, the last thing I want to do is waste more time with this crap after troubleshooting this damn issue for a couple if hours. I can't tell if Creators Update broke SLI with the external display or the new Nvidia drivers broke it. If the external isn't the main display, it plays just fine.

Would really help if other with the same configuration as me would chime in too.

    Here you go:

    http://download.windowsupdate.com/d..._a7d437c5bcc172e3d23ba5ffb8940374b2a85b17.cab

to install it, rename the file to myupdate.cab

Place it in a folder in th root of C: and name that folder update

Now while you are in the root of C:, click on file on the top left, then run powershell as admin and paste the following command

    dism /online /add-package /packagepath:C:\update\myupdate.cab

Update made no difference sadly. Game performance is still in the tubes and goes down to 1FPS and either freezes or crashes.

Been there done that. I've done some testing. Hooked up my laptop via HDMI to my 4k TV and it does not display the same symptoms as my Asus ROG Swift that's plugged in via DP. Games run like they should and do not lock up at 1FPS soon after launching the game.

Dunno if this helps but it's very peculiar, this is not an external display source like I thought but it has to do with my external GSYNC monitor and DP.

    Guys,
My 870KM1-G has got 2 GTX1080 GPUs and 2 330W adapters. I am wondering if it is possible to disable one of the GPUs or both of them and use the Intel Core graphics card when I am not doing heavy work? In that case, can I just plug in one power adapter as the power assumption is supposed to be much less? Thanks.

You can disable SLI and use only 1 adapter. But it is impossible to use the Intel iGPU. It's completely disabled and not wired up in these systems.

If you disable one 1080 you can pretty safely use a single brick if you want to travel lighter.

just got my p870km1 and gotta say... this thing runs pretty warm. the 7700k runs pretty warm and needless to say the 1080s do max out around 85c under crysis 3 after 30 minutes of game time.

My main problem here is the CPU... some heatsinks might not make good contact with the cpu.... I think thats probably going to be my problem. I have delidded my cpu and used liquid ultra (cpu to heatsink) and i am @ 4.6 with voltage of 1125 (1.25v)

    Any advices?

if you run @ cap fps of 130 it does not. Try uncapping fps and see it gets warm. Is set to "display based " by default and that is about 130 on this display. FPS capped @ 130 cpu stay around high 70s but unlocked FPS aroun3 180 to 200 is about 85c

My cap is at 300. Even then it barely stresses the CPU. I have not seen my 6700k or the 7700k cross 45-50C when the game is running.
Sometimes certain cores hit peak load, but it settles down to 30-40% usage. With the fps at around 175-225.

So, is the heat sink twisted or arched in the middle? You will likely need it exchanged for one that is not deformed.

Try this. Lay it black side down/CPU side up on a concrete floor. Take your thumbs (or the part of your palms below your thumbs if it hurts your thumb tips too much) and press down on the outer ends of it where the screw holes are at the same time. This will bow it the opposite direction with the heat pipes as a fulcrum in the middle. It won't smash the heat pipes.

It will take a fair amount of pressure, but copper is soft so don't go hog wild or you'll bend the crap out of it. Do it a little bit, check with a straight-edge, go a little more if you need to. Once the straight edge lays flat and no light/gap shines between the straight edge and the heat sink, bolt that sucker down again and see if it helps. I've done this several times on Clevo heat sinks. That copper plate needs to be two or three times thicker than what it is.

I use my modded U3 only when im benching with overclocks. Otherwise i just ue max fans.

I should mention however , that i redid my thermal pad setup, so that might be it for the GPU's. But it still wont explain your CPU temps.
