You wont like it, because its mostly lacks Graphics horsepower and is not for gaming, but the Thinkpad has the best keyboard of any laptop. I wish the others , just copy paste it.

Anyways typing experience is important for me too. It seems to me, that some Clevo's (reading @Galm posts make me seem so), do have better keyboards. Its a shame that their top end model doesnt seem to have their best keyboard.

Clevo P series keyboards are all good (except maybe the P640 idr that one). The N850HK1 is alright too. The desktop cpu ones are all pretty poor in comparison.

Question for the P870KM1 users out there... I hear the 7700k runs warmer than the 6700k. curious to know what overclocks are you guys running on the 7700k and what temperatures are you getting while gaming (with the heat of the 1080 sli) and the cpu. Also temperatures under some kind of stress test like Aida 64.

    Thanks in advance **

Not exactly the KM1, but pretty much the same (DM3) , this is using Conductonaut and C-Clips removed.

Those are great temps. Hopefully mine does similar work when it comes to cooling. Getting my P870km1 sometime next week.

    no shim?

conducto on ihs->copper heatsink or only delid and you use regular paste for heatsink?

hardly, while its definitely a good keyboard for its thickness, its now where near a Thinkpad keyboard, it doesn't have that key travel. But these are pretty subjective, YMVV.

Its crazy, I am not sure why they cant get a better keyboard (or the same one which they have in non desktop laptops). I know some people don't mind it, but its hard to understand why not have a better keyboard. MSI definitely seems to do a better job on this.

Nope, no shim. Popped the C-Clips, Conductonaut on the Die, Conductonaut on the IHS and super sparse / thin layer on the Heat sink.

    ah ok

what grit did you polish with? 2000?

thinking with CLU/conducto there's probably no point to rub the cpu area...

delid tool is shipping real slow to me :|

edit: is that icd on the chokes?

Yeah i used 1500 and then 2000 to remove the old CLU mainly, with minimal scraping.

Definitely, mainly needed to get run of the crustiness/oxidation crap that was stuck from the CLU. None of that **** happens with Conductonaut, will test Gallistan next week.

That GCE. I ended up putting the thermal pad back on.

so with conducto you get a cleaner surface when cleaning up?

ah ok, oxidation is a good point, I will "clean" my heatsink later on with 1500 and 2000

maybe skip 1500 and go straight to 2000?

Yeah with Conductonaut, when you wipe it off you only get that normal greyish surface that is flat and can be cleaned much better than what CLU leaves behind.
CLU for me causes this weird solid crusts that literally need to be sanded/scraped off.
If you dont have those crusts, then straight 2000 will work jut fine.

I think my KM1 have the stock thermal paste they put on by machine at the factory, haven't checked.

Atm the temps are so bad without delid cpu is 88c consuming only 55w of power. I have to artificially cap it to 45w in the bios so it doesn't explode trying to install drivers.

Oh yeah. Welcome to the Intel/Clevo Stock BIOS Voltage Hell.

A 7700k in my friends desktop was running at 85C at stock clocks under a H110i. Using GCE as the TIM. And this load isnt even Prime95, just normal 3D rendering.

I think they implemented a -100mV undervolt. But even then, depending on the silicon, the stock voltage hits the fan :p
My first 7700k did 4.8Ghz at 1.2V, the current one does 4.8Ghz at 1.235 at least. Its a pain to deal with.

Anyone know of a backpack that these things will fit in? The Swiss Gear I used for my x7200 and NP9772 is too small. Just got a new one SmartScan one that is going back because it is too small.

Cool. I loved my first Swiss Gear. It lasted like 10 years with only minor wear and tear.

Any other options? I did see that the Bonvince is large but I can't find and interior dimension.

With the 6xxx series it was set to XMP profile, reboot and then manually select the timings. Now it just boots.

Weird. Im using a 4k panel, on the DM1, and using the trackpad. So its not as noticeable since it helps a bit because of the DPI.

Im guessing Enhanced PP is already off?
