You need to work out a deal with HID @Donald@HIDevolution where you can get a constant stream of current laptop models as they release.

Overlapping with 1 previous generation so you aren't without a laptop during the transition.

"The Continuous New Laptop Continuity Warranty" 1-5 years

Big bucks, but worth it :)

You bet...I encourage that program. It is actually cheaper in the long run. Don't think so? Just call me to discuss it and I will show you how.

What is the specific technological challenge that keeps manufacturers from implementing 4K with 120Hz (forget HDR for the moment) on laptop screen? On the other hand finally there is going to be a 4K HDR 144hz IPS monitor from Asus this year (PG27UQ).

March 2016 is 'just' announced? We're now 10 months in. Lol Since we're talking about an unannounced laptop here anything is fair game.

    I.meant 4k HDR.
The exact same discussion has been had before in.multiple threads.
The bottom line - Not enough Bandwidth.
Current system can do 4k at 60Hz max on internal displays. Externally you will need to use multiple ports.

I love my 32" Acer 4K monitor. Depending on my mood I use this or my 1440p 144hz IPS monitor. I won't be upgrading my laptop until a 4K 120hz display shows up.

Anyway this laptop looks sweet. Enjoy to whomever buys it.

I might move to 1440p ultra wide at some point at 144hz. It's easier to keep the frame rate up and gives a nice experience.

Really? Its literally the same.. 1 M.2 slot more...

It's not worth it, even Prema said so.. Just enjoy what you have and wait for Volta! Then you splash out as much money as you like!

I know, as a company, I don't think they'd push for more than a 200 MHz overclock to be on the safe side, after all, it's a promise they're making to the customers, it's up to those individuals to go higher.

On a positive note, Kaby Flake CPUs have a 66% chance of reaching 5.0 GHz vs thd 20% of the older luck of the draw Sky Lake 6700K where it was a MUST (at least for me) to get a Silicon Lottery version.

    Someone donate to t3h m3h a K46y F14k3

Now with the KM1 we probably won't see prema s/vbios until cannonlake refresh

The Prema Release Candidate supports both "Skylake" and "Kaby Lake".

Note on our website for the EVOC P870DM3, DM2 and EVOC P870KM1 is longer says "...once available...", it says latest updated version.

Looking at the size of that bezel, why not a bigger display? 17"? Kinda overkill for 1440p. Oh and no 3D Vision? Come on, we can do better than this.

I think the issue is still as it was years ago with the P180HM - 18" panels of quality to match this level of hardware are non existent. I can't find any mention of the panel inside the GX800 (advertised as 4K 18.4" 250nits) that's the first I've heard of that looks comparable to 17 inch options

(I just read yesterday the GT80 line including the GT83VR ... multi thousand $ flagship DTR ... is still only using an 6bit 2ch LVDS 1080p/60hz panel!!! What a disgusting waste of SLI'd 1080s.)

That's rather impossible, seeing as how Pascal can only output to eDP.

However, notebook panels are still pretty much trash. But there's really no demand for anything better...

It could be using a converter chip. Panelook I know isn't perfect, but lists exactly zero eDP 18.4" panels
