in your case i would try to apply the default settings in XTU and uninstall it and recheck, if it doesn't work out that way i then probably would do a CMOS/NVRAM Reset, just pull out the battery and power plug then the CMOS battery itself too and press the power button for some seconds, i do 30sec-1min, after that just replug the CMOS battery and reinsert the battery itself and the power cable. In that case the book should reset itself to stock values, just redo your bios then and use @unclewebb Throttlestop 8.30 instead :) i'm using it right now too for undervolting and everything works like a charm (mostly lol)

1,875W is default according to XTU :(. I tried setting to max value and then uninstalling, but that doesn't seem to work.

Where is the CMOS battery located?

under the keyboard, you just have to open the back plate and unscrew the keyboard screws and then you can raise up the keyboard on top and there you go ;)

but let me doublecheck i open up mine

edit: well can't don't have a needle or a thin thingy here atm to press out the keyboard on the backside, lol.

You will need a updated firmware for support for Kaby lake processor. Either a mod bios from master @Prema or from where you bought your machine.

It's a TN screen, when I asked Donald earlier about it for another friend of mine, he said they will have it soon maybe in 1-2 weeks so stay tuned :)

@Phoenix first of all the link to HIDEvolution is not the Aorus x5 v6 (which has a GTX 1070). Second XoticPC does not have the Aorus x5 v6 with the 120Hz panel listed. Aorus' site does list it in the specs. block: "15.6" Full HD 1920x1080 Wide Viewing Angle 120Hz & 5ms Anti-Glare LCD support NVIDIA® G-SYNC™Technology"

2880x1620 is also known as 3k which is higher res. than your 1440 2560x1440 panel.

It is a 15.6" 120Hz - 5ms Full HD (1920x1080) TN Antiglare Matte Type Display - with nVIDIA® G-SYNC™ Technology. We have it listed on both the EVOC P750DM2-G and EVOC P650RS-G, but it will not begin shipping until around the end of November...about a week or so out.

It is not available as a separate part at this time. That will probably take another 1-3 Months.

    Hey guys!
Can anyone please help me to find the factory EC and 2nd EC? I have installed EC 1.05.03 and 2nd EC 1.05.02 and one of them has a bug. When turning on the laptop the screen turns off for a second (probably this is how they "fixed" the colored lines at bootup), but this is not a problem, the real problem is that when a 3D app is running, the CPU will not hold the clocks. With these EC version cache ratio is also reported wrong to the Clevo app (it will only show x40 for cache despite being higher in the BIOS), and it also seems (maybe this is just reported wrong too) that the core clock are not stable when an 3D app is running.
Clocks during Rise of the Tomb Raider:
    [IMG] [IMG]

    Clocks during FireStrike test:

As you can see on the picture, its not because it is overheating.

Can someone help me out with an EC and 2nd EC that does not have these bugs?

This is the bug that @Shakeeb Anjum has. I think GTV EVO said that you need EC or BIOS 1.05.04 which is the older one

Yes, probably, the question is, where can I get an older BIOS or EC? My retailer wont even send me an older BIOS because they are afraid that I will break the laptop, let alone an EC update ...

And Palkeo only has the new EC and 2nd EC ...

I just had a word with HIDevolution's tech support, they told me that they have all the BIOS/EC files but they won't send it to me or anyone without a valid order number and verification so you will have to tell your reseller to send it to you and tell them you will flash it under your own responsibility.

If you do get it, let me know and I will guide you how to safely flash it step by step so no issues would occur. It's super easy man

It's because people just take a file that's close in name and flash it, bricking their system.

Yes, I know how to flash them, but thanks :) The problem is, it takes days for my reseller to reply and when they do, they don't really want to send it to me...if they even have the EC files, because even amongst BIOS versions, they only have 1.05.01.
I wish it was easier to get BIOS/EC updates for these laptops...

@Phoenix: That is why I allays tripple check the name of the BIOS file before flashing.

That's my biggest gripe with Clevo laptops, it's not like ASUS or Alienware where you simply go to the manufacturer's site, go to your laptop model, download whatever BIOS you want and it's way easier to flash through Windows with a single installer. With Clevo, when I had my first P870DM (HIDevolution wasn't a Prema Partner back then) I had to keep begging and looking around to get the BIOS I want

IMO they should be publicly available and the installer would warn the user if he is trying to flash it on a laptop that the BIOS not intended for.

Please call your reseller and tell them that you have no other way to get it but from them but if they don't have the 1.05.04 then I don't know what else can be done

ohhh wait a minute, go to XMG's site, they usually have the BIOS for the public, but you have to figure out what model yours is in their products as they have a different naming scheme for them: www.mysn.de/secure/userarea/download.asp?KategorienOrder=010;010&show=Support

the BIOS would have the XMG logo though but it will be the stock BIOS still

BIOS is not a problem, I have 1.05.02,1.05.03 and 1.05.06 with the basic "Style note" logo.
The problem is EC. I need EC 1.05.02. and 2nd EC 1.05.01 and these are nowhere to be found :/ Hell, I even doubt my reseller have these (considering that even amongst BIOS versions they only have 1.05.01.)
Even XMG only has the BIOS for download, they have EC available for download for all other models, but not the P775DM3-G...

Actually tried several emails. I asked them to "Please send my the current BIOS, EC and 2nd EC you are installing for the Octane III (P775DM3-G)"

    The reply:

    "Thank you for your reply,

I can confirm your bios verion is 1.05.01,

I wouldn't recommend flashing your bios as it can brick the system which will void warranty, "

I have nothing to say :)

oh, no I have not tried asking from other resellers. But the last time when I asked XMG in email something, it took 3 or 4 workdays to reply ... Will try some other resellers, but I doubt anyone will help since my laptop is not from them.

Does anyone here have the AUO B173HAN01.1 panel and can confirm that it is indeed a 120Hz FHD (1080p) panel? I looked up the spec sheets of it and it says it is only 60Hz, but I have seen Eurocom list it as 120Hz and also seen people call it 120Hz before but not recently.

Is it from PCSpecialist ? PCS has AUO B173ZAN01.1 panels which have EDID that does not make them G-Sync compatyble. (Or maybe just the driver blocks these panels)
    The G-Sync compatyble 4K panel is AUO B173ZAN01. 0.

    My friend's pc reports
    1.05.01
    And EC 1.05.02
    Bought from syspack Italy.
Could you tell me where to find the updates?
Because his 6700k stays permanently on 3999 GHz, never scales down in balanced mode. Only 1000 in battery mode

This way His Temps get to 80C playing bf1, of wich I am little concerned

Edit. Xtu is messing up frequency.
Could anybody tell me base clocks and turbo ratio on 6700k on Clevo p775dm3-g?
Resetting default Xtu profile and uninstalling it, it brings the turbo ratios to something like 33,33,32,31 and base 2.7ghz.
Seems not right for a 4ghz cpu

    http://www.eurocom.com/ec/release(345)ec

    - 120Hz; 17.3-inch (43.9cm) FHD 1920x1080; MATTE (Non-Glare); IPS; 700:1; 300nts; eDP; AUO B173HAN01.1

I was wondering if anyone here could confirm that this is indeed an FHD 120Hz Matte Panel because they have it? I can't possibly be the only one interested in an FHD 120Hz Matte Panel, right?

If I am not mistaken, that is the 25ms IPS 120 Hz panel which failed G-Sync certification, so there is no G-Sync with that. But yea, its 120 hz.

Hm, how can it be 120fps if it has 25ms of latency? 120fps is 8ms per frame.

Why? Not only 5ms panels can reach 120 Hz. Even the old LG IPS panel can be overclocked to 100 Hz without frame skip. Not impossible for AUO to produce IPS panels that can work with 120 Hz. Ghosting will be the same as on the LG panel though because of the 25 ms response time.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what "25ms" means, but if it can only change each pixel's value every 25ms, then it's incapable of correctly displaying anything greater than 40fps.

And thats what you get man when you currently buy an FHD panel (LG or the AUO you linked).
Notebookchek actually measures 25-35 ms for b2w and g2g.

25ms seconds is how long it takes for the screen to react to new input. So a really high response time would give you notice-able input lag. It doesn't affect the frame rate.

Edit: To put it into a little more context, 16ms is a single frame of input lag. So while 5ms is of course what I'd want to shoot for, if I gave you two screens and one had a 5ms response and another a 25ms response, you probably couldn't tell the difference. Overall input lag plays a major part as well which is more than just response time.
