    I am thinking of purchasing p775dm3 with 6700k + 1080.
Wont it lack power with 330w?

And if it lacks power with single 330w brick, would it support dual-330w power that comes with p870dm3?

    Hi everyone,

I currently have a Clevo P750DM-G with GTX 970M. May I know is it possible for it to be upgraded to the new GTX 1060 or GTX 1070? I noticed from the Clevo website that the new P750DM2-G has a slightly higher z-height of 2 mm. And seems like the GTX 1070 will be using more than 100 W of power, exceeding the MXM 3.0 specification, so not sure it is compatible with the old model.

Meaker confirmed on the P870 thread that the 120hz screen is non-G-sync as the panel has not completed certification from Nvidia.

Its an MSI 16L1 barebones. I only heard of it a few days ago on another thread here. MSI is releasing it as the GT62 but with a BGA cpu and as a tier below their GT72 model, from I what I've seen so far.

looks like we are in the same boat again :p, But i think 330w is good for a single GPU configuration, can't answer the second question tho.

Wanted to ask the same question right now too, i only saw that the DM2 has the option for 1060 and 1070 and the DM3 for the 1080, so the cooling is different?

A single 330w should be more than enough even with OC on single setup. If there is a power cap for use of more than a single 330... @Prema firmware will fix it :)

Why is there comparatively so little interest in this P775DM3 model? :(
Did anyone find 120hz screens in Europe (or resellers that offer it)?

I'm ready to push the button on the P775DM3 but I was hoping for the 120hz screen too :(

Is the 4k screen a 120hz non-g sync option as well? Where do we find the specs of the panels as I don't see anything on Clevo.

Yes the 120hz panel has not been cleared by nvidia yet so it does not support g-sync.

If it does get cleared by NVidia, is it a feature that can be enabled adhoc?

Not officially, it would need tinkering and ensuring the gpus are g-sync capable.

    Sooo...

Apparently Metabox AU are listing this as an option for the P775DM2:
    -17.3" QFHD (4K) 3840 x 2160 IPS WVA Matte 120Hz LED with G-Sync (Coming Soon) $595.00

And that's listed separately to the 4K/60hz panel and 1080p 60hz and 120hz panels....

Surely all the GPUs in the 775 are capable? I thought it was automatic that the 1060, 1070 and 1080 were GSync compatible.

That price pretty much puts it out of reach for me. I would be stretching to go for the 4k panel unfortunately :(

Same as last generation there are g-sync and regular versions for each of the 3 new GPUs.

Well, I feel they may have mixed up some information there... ;)

That's AUD btw, so pretty normal for here actually.

But you may have missed the gravity of the situation. That would literally make it the 1st 4K 120hz laptop panel EVER.

Ahh, that's good to know. I didn't realise that. I assumed it was a firmware difference rather than actual hardware. Every day is a school day :D

Mixed up information? As in there isn't really a 4k 120hz GSync screen in the making?

They are in the making, but won't pop up anytime soon. ;)
Right now there is a 4k with g-sync and an FHD with 120Hz (and pending g-sync certification).

Great, thanks for the info :)

I'm at odds with what to go with. The 1080 is the card of choice but without going for the 4k screen it seems like overkill.

1080 and 4k is £483 more than 1070 with FHD.

So I ordered a P751DM2G from pc-konsulten.se with 1070. I'll reuse the RAM, SSD and i7-6700 from my P751DM. I do not want to go through the hassle of looking up a MSI 1070 MMX card to fit the old one, it will for sure be costly and I'm also not sure if heatsink needs to be modded or not.

Also pushed the button on a P775DM3. I couldn’t stomach the extra weight/size of a P870DM3 – and there’s no Vive SLI support anyway.

    Went for G-sync 4k IPS (I need 4k for work), GTX 1080, i6700 unlocked, 32gb/2400mhz and a 240gb SSD/2tb HDD.

Should get it next week sometime.

I went for a similar config from metabox (bought through Kong in Australia), but 1080p monitor, and a 950pro 500g... Its an upgrade for an old Toshiba with a Gtx 460m... I literally could not be more frothing at the mouth to get hold of it. I have even been holding off on playing Witcher 3 until it arrives. I have dabbled in custom builds and OC over the years, but not since the very first i7's came out. Hoping to have a bit of fun with this lappy, so lord knows an old out of touch fella like me is gonna be picking some brains on these forums :nah:

I’ve spent a day with both. Oculus is lighter, has a thinner cable and the screen was pretty much identical once I got the Vive properly adjusted (which was harder).

However the tracked controllers/room scale on the Vive is incredible (if you’ve got the space) – unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I wouldn’t bother with a Rift until they’ve added that functionality.

When they do – and if they have good some exclusive games – I’ll probably pick one up as well.

Sorry for the redundant question as I know it has been beaten, but does anyone know if the P775DM3-G supports a 1080p screen @ 120hz with or without gsync? From what I am seeing you can only get the P870DMx with this screen which is disappointing

So far I haven't seen a european vendor with 120hz screen on a Clevo laptop other than P870DM .

I have my eyes on the P775DM3 from PC Specialist, sadly it doesn't seem to have the 120hz screen :-(

Purchased the P775DM3-G. Opted for the 120hz, GTX 1080, and 6700K delidded. First time customizing a laptop and I was curious if the G meant G-sync. The advertisement didn't mention G-sync for the 120hz, just for the 4K.

Also I purchased from HIDevolution if anyone is curious.

Any one that sells it in the US. I emailed rjtech and the 1080p panel is not 120hz for this model, only the 8-series. I can't seem to find anyone that sells the 120hz screen on barebone systems.

Is Clevo using the same LG IPS panel as MSI? If yes than that 5ms panel according to Notebookcheck has 34.4 ms g2g response time ...

There was a mistake on our website, for which we apologize.

The EVOC P775DM3-G Gaming Laptop comes with the 17.3" Full HD (1920x1080) LG IPS LED Antiglare Matte Type Display - with nVIDIA® G-SYNC™ Technology, or the optional 17.3" 4K QFHD (3840x2160) AUO LED Matte Type Display - with nVIDIA® G-SYNC™ Technology.

The mistake has now been corrected.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Thanks for the clarification. If I may ask, what's the reason why the P775DM3 can't be configured with a 120hz display since the P870DM3 can? Is there some sort of hardware limitation? It definitely shouldn't be as the official Clevo page states it supports 120hz panels? http://www.clevo.com.tw/clevo_prodetail.asp?id=945&lang=en

Therefore, will a 120hz panel in the 775DM3 become available in the *near* future?

If you don't mind my shameless curiosity (I promise it is the last for now), does the P775 come with an improved cooling solution if configured with a 1080, as compared to a 1070?

Thanks so much for your time!

The 120Hz works just fine in P77 and P8 models (no g-sync atm). Probably just a supplier thing...

Also ordered a P775DM3-G (from Mythlogic), also disappointed by no 120Hz panel available. I'd definitely be willing to wait and pay for it if it was going to become available any time soon.

Went with the 6700k/1080 with a FHD screen. I don't really want to deal with scaling issues with 4k and don't need pixels that small anyways. 1080 might be kind of overkill, but at least it should have a pretty easy time driving just a FHD panel. Plus it should be fantastic for VR!

Has anyone ever swapped lcds in the p775? Curious if we could get a panel with gsync so the gpu has it enabled and swap out the lcd with a 120hz gsync once certified by Nvidia.

No be careful about what you're flashing, that bios ONLY works with the previous generation (the ZM series). You'll most likely brick your machine if you flash that one. Our master guru @Prema will hopefully eventually release a bios for the new DM series but give him some time :)

Any significant changes in the chasis between new models and batman 2.0? Not about size, more about materials, vents holes.

    @Prema

p750dm-g had some power limitation on CPU when OCed, while p870dm-g didn't.
Do you have any idea about p775dm3?
And how long would it take for you to make the "magic" bios for it ? :)
