Since I spent the time to polish a my IHS and sink I stay away from ICD due to the fact that it will scratch the surface on removal. I have tried nearly all the top contenders in a self experiment and have found gelid to provide the lowest temps. I will say that the difference between PK3 and a couples others were only a degree or two difference but I have plenty of it so I stick with gelid.

Ran into a weird problem yesterday. Everytime I press the area under the left Control key (where the stickers are, left of the touchpad) the right side backlight lightning of my keyboard will turn on. It's very weird.

Could this be a hardware issue or something? What's under the sticker area? It's only the numpad area that illuminates, as soon as I remove pressure on the left area, the backlights turn off again.

Does anyone have any experience with this issue? I don't feel like contacting XMG as I already got the keyboard replaced (and now this one actually works fine typing-wise...)

    One of these should work in Windows 8 to 10 with UEFI;

While holding down the Shift key select the Restart Button
    OR
    At the prompt enter: shutdown /r /o t 0

In the Boot Options menu choose Troubleshoot
In the Advanced Options menu choose UEFI Firmware Settings
    Enter the BIOS setup menus

    OR

Power on normally and log into Windows
    Reboot Windows
Hold the F2 key down after the computer restarts
    Enter the BIOS setup menus

You can also enter the advanced shut down menu by opening the right menu, below power is change pc settings, go to recovery then advanced startup.

Also you can click on power and hold shift while clicking restart.

How did you make sure the heatsink was flat? Especially the heatspreader.

It makes little difference so long as they mate as a surface at the same angle if it's slight, but if it was off then the pattern would be impacted a little.

I have a question about GPU upgrades. I am considering purchasing a Sager NP9772 from Powernotebooks. I am going to be using this as a mobile workstation so I am looking to get the fastest performance for the best price. I pretty much have everything worked except the GPU. It looks like this laptop can be bought with either the K1100M, K3100M or K5100M. I would really like to get the K5100M, but it is just too expensive to justify buying from a reseller. I looked on ebay and I found K5100M cards for a third of the usual price and the seller has 99% positive feedback. I think it is so cheap because it is coming directly from China. I would like to buy the laptop with the K1100M from Powernotebooks and then upgrade the GPU to the K5100M myself. Is this possible to do with the Sager NP9772 and if so how difficult is it? Also is it too risky to consider buying a K5100M from China? My backup plan is to go with the K3100M.

    nVidia + Hotkey Drivers installed?

My question, is someone using Win10 Preview and is DSR working for him? With the latest 343.49 drivers i can't get DSR working really well it seems, desktop DSR is fine but if i set the resolution ingame e.g. GW2 or Wildstar the screen freezes somehow, systems stays responsive tho and even mouse pointer is still working, ALT+Enter is working 99% of the time to get the game running in windowed mode to set it to 19x10 again. Borderless Fullscreen same when setting the desktop resolution to 2880x1620 and start a game. Right now i downsample manually to 2880x1620 which seems fine for these 2 games, so i guess it's a nvidia DSR issue with Win10, but still wanted somebody do doublecheck.

As far as i know there is no option to disable it in Prema BIOS.
This is just nuts, why does it turn itself on in the first place? There should be an easily accessible way to tweak it!

You may be able to buy a P770ZM without a GPU from RJTech. I was shopping around for a laptop without certain components, and I found they were the only site that offered such a thing.

Hey guys, I'm in the market for a P771ZM model laptop, and as I'm from Holland I've found a reseller (Laptopplus.nl), who does sell this model, however I've found a curiosity that they seem unable to answer. They are selling two versions, namely, one with and one without g-sync, and it seems that they claim to use a 60HZ display for the G-Sync model. Is this possible? I've been doing some research here on the forum, and it appears that the other g-sync models are sold with the 75HZ IPS screen provided by LG.

I'm sure that's the case, but is it possible at all that they'd have a screen that is 60hz, TN, and supports G-sync? Is that something that exists? I've talked to one of the company techs, and he assured me that it is in fact a 60hz TN panel. I'd hate to spend ~1700 and find out that I've not, in fact, got the model I'm paying for (it costs about ~150 more for the G-Sync model you see).

Thanks for the help, by the way.

I am not aware of any TN panels being varified by Nvidia but that does not mean there are none.

If you are worried about not getting what you have paid for simply check the hardware ID when you get the notebook.

I'll just pressure the reseller more to let me know exactly what panel they are using. I'd rather not just buy something without knowing exactly what I'm purchasing, but I wanted to know if any of you knew what they were talking about. Thanks for helping, and I'll let you know what the answer is!

Yes.....push the Fn key and the 7, 8, and 9 keys on the numericle keypad right side of keyboard. That 9 key toggles the right side of the blue keyboard lights when the Fn key is pressed and the 8 key toggles the middle and the 7 key toggles the left side.

So quick update, I told them if they're unable to provide information on the screen, I'd lose interest, and this prompted them to answer a bit more clearly - turns out they don't have the laptop in stock right now but will have it come August, and will be able to provide exact details at that point. I'll wait until that point, because in the Netherlands they're the only reseller that offers a G-sync option with a P771ZM equipped with a 970M.

    Offtopic:
Who should I approach to have www.laptopplus.nl added to the reseller list?

I would definitely recommend flashing Prema's vbios if you're comfortable doing that. I saw a gain of at least 10 fps in all the games i play(arma3, witcher, GTA5) without changing any settings or overclocking. I did flash Prema's bios too, but it had no noticeable effects on my hardware. So flash it only if you want a full control over your laptop.

I have done both Prema Mods. So far i have only seen gains in 3d marks score. Im not completely sure, but it seems that Gta 5 runs exactly the same as before. I see you have GTA 5 as well so do you mind me asking on what settings are you playing that and how much fps you get?

Load hotkey, go to command center for hotkey, click on gaming, click on flexikey. Go to backlight, click to highlight what you want to change, click the center of the color wheel that says off. Save. No more backlight!

No dude, this wont do me no good. You see, the backlit turns itself on when i turn on my laptop no matter what i do in flexykey. It turns on blue coloured and stays on until i turn it off either by pressing fn+* or through flexykey.
I´ve been trying to figure this out here before but with no reasonabe responses. One guy said that this is normal and it works like that by default.

    Exactly

At the Moment there is now way to diabled it.
    Perhaps next EC/BIOS ??
Or ask Clevo directly if there can do an Option in BIOS .

It's the default behavior of the embedded controller. The firmware would need to be edited.
