I wonder if one of your ram sticks is bad, causing the flashing process to get corrupted.

Just received my P750DM-G! This thing is a beast (specs in Sig).

    Some things I've noticed:

-Protip, don't install multiple drivers simultaneously, especially Nvidia drivers. It gets stuck.
-The supplied Synaptics Touchpad driver had some weird crashing issues (touchpad would stop working, then return with basic drivers only). Fixed that up by grabbing the older ones directly from Clevo. Unfortunately, they have the even older bug of not being signed (get a warning on bootup to say it's untrusted).
-As expected, the Skylake processor benches well, even in stock form for me. Firestrike Physics score benches a solid 20% higher than my 2600K @ 4.4ghz.
-The included Nvidia 354 series driver suffers from the G-Sync lag bug when using G-Sync for windowed mode
-The 950 Pro (even though I've only got the 256GB version) is a god damn beast.
-Max temps through 3DMark are 78 degrees on CPU, 64 degrees on GPU.
-I can't see any backlight/IPS glow. I'll have to test in the dark when I'm home )

A preliminary run on Firestrike (everything stock):

    My desktop for comparison (980Ti @ 1464mhz/8000mhz, CPU @ 4.4ghz):

Sure! From 1.05.03 tp 1.05.05 we have:

    - ME version stays the same 11.0.0.1178
    - Updated Microcode
    - Quadro detection improvement
    - several detection niggles on boot
    - improvement to Fn F11 Airplane mode functionality
    - fix occasional keyboard non-detection in DOS environment

Most of the changes were included in 1.05.02, so .03 - 0.4 and 0.5 are just improving on niggly issues which I suspect most people woulnd't have noticed or experienced!

So to anyone wondering if the DM can power headphones with 250ohm or more...
250 ohm are no problem. Volume is good but the bass just isn't as responsive.
Got a black friday deal on a Creative E5 DAC, the thing is awesome! Complements my Beyers 250 ohm so nicely!

The internal display has no impact on what the external ports can do :) So no issue with any G-Sync and/or high refresh rate external displays either way.

Does anyone have the 4K sharp IGZO panel? If so I'm looking for some pictures and video if anyone would happen to have some to share, or if anyone has a link to some video that would be great

Did you order the 4k Glossy?

Also has anyone tried watching 4K netflix? I'm curios if that works for anyone because if so that may be an indication that the batman supports HDCP 2.2

Eurocom; they were the only ones I saw that offered it. I chose it because the specs seem better except for g-sync which I don't think I would notice much. I will be using this more for workstation tasks than gaming.

I just received my P750DM from Eurocom and I am very impressed thus-far. The build quality surpassed my expectations (my first Clevo; I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of build quality).

Right now it's compiling Gentoo at a very surprising rate. Keyboard feels great and every piece of hardware worked great right out of the box (which I was surprised about; usually there are a few catches). Can't speak to the media keys; I never use them.

The matte Sharp 4K IGZO screen is gorgeous. I have never had a display I liked as much as this, including my Macbook Pro Retina's, which was too glossy to be used comfortably for me. From what I saw when I was searching for this laptop is that Eurocom is the only company that offers this display (at this time). I highly recommend it if you do not care about G-Sync.

Later on I'll install Windows on a secondary SSD and test out its gaming performance. Very happy with the decision to purchase this.

Usually if I'm looking for something, I'd check newegg, tiger direct, or amazon first. If you find a specific ram you want, then maybe search the web and see if anybody has it listed cheaper.

that's actually quite true for me, this book is running like no tomorrow, it's very cool, have no issues, everything works absolutely gorgeous. Didn't even have to apply the screw mod, while playing my CPU never surpasses about 70 °C wich means i finally own a heatsink wich isn't slighty bent

I was wondering if this is a Linux issue or something else...

When the display shuts off due to power saving settings (or when I lock the screen; Gnome does this these days) the onboard display will not turn back on.

Inputs work fine, and external displays work fine but the onboard one will not come back on for whatever reason. Has anyone else encountered this in Linux or otherwise? Thanks!

Well, I have the most recent ones available for Gentoo, which are 358.13. I noticed that there is version 358.16 on nVidia's site, however trying to use stuff out of the Portage tree really messes things up in Gentoo. I'll definitely update when they are made available.

Seems so odd that it is limited to the onboard display though.

I don't think anybody made a chart of differences but the main ones are:
    1. 75x - 15.6" screen / 77x & 870 - 17.3" screen
    2. 75x & 770(1) - desktop cpu + mobile graphics card(single)
    3. 775 - desktop cpu + mobile graphics card (single) / 980 gpu 180w version
    4. 870 - desktop cpu + mobile graphics card(s) - meaning can run SLI OR single 980 gpu 200w version.

So to M.2? or not to M.2? is the question,

Do you guys see better real world performance with the m.2 Samsung 850 pro? vs the Sata version?

Also in wingnut's review he was using a SM951 I wonder if the 850 pro has better cooling? Any thoughts?

So in wingnut's review "Having ample storage is nice with two form factors with M.2 and 2.5" drive options, however, while inclusion of M.2 PCIe NVMe and AHCI is nice, the drives do not have adequate cooling in such a system for users that will push sequential reads and writes on a regular basis."

Wingnut may have been trying to show a worse case scenario with SM951 throttling or maybe he had an early version which had thermal issues. I really don't know. I can only note that I have been running with an SM951 NVME in my p770zm for about a month, and I have yet to experience any throttling issues.

As for the Samsung 950 Pro NVME PCIE, reviews note that it runs cooler and in some case faster than a SM951, so it probably would be a better option. It's also a little cheaper.

Anyone else see the Clevo Private Event announcement? Sounds like a whole new line of products will be launched in March. It's not really private if it's publicly posted, heh.

One question: what's the time difference between resuming from hibernation and a cold boot? Not that concerned about small variations in processors, RAM, etc. My computer is so old, and it's always faster to resume from hibernation. Just wondering if there's much difference between resume vs. cold boot on a modern system with SSD.

I am using a Samsung 950 Pro and it is blazing fast.

The POST takes forever for some reason (like 10 seconds), but once the boot loader comes up, Gnome 3 (Linux) is all booted up in a matter of like 3 seconds for me. Definitely the fastest boot time I have ever seen with the exception of the POST. That, and installing software, loading files, etc. is VERY fast. To me, it's worth it; and I have not noticed any throttling in normal usage.

Everyday things are very fast, although I suspect they probably would be either way.

In the work I do, I notice it. I think you would probably be happy with a SATA SSD for normal everyday use, although if your concern is overheating I don't think it's something you'd come across. I have been importing huge SQL files into a database (takes around 15 minutes) and I haven't noticed any throttling during that operation. I think that's more demanding than normal everyday use.

Are you coming from an SSD already or HDD?

I'm coming from a HDD I've used a SSD a little bit and seen how fast they are, I am concerned about the throttling and where a lot of reviews say that you won't see much of real world difference between an Sata SSD. They say it benchmarks well, but when it comes to everyday use that you may not see much of a difference especially when dealing with small files.

Thanks for your feedback, that helps a lot.

Really, here in the UK it's the opposite, with the SM951 being a fair bit cheaper than the 950 pro!

On a different note, has anyone tried the latest 1.05.05 bios. Does it cure the reported issues with M2 PCI-E drives in raid and does it improve initial 'post' time.
    Thanks.

@svend007 I have the bios 05 installed but can't replicate raid issues as I don't have raid. It was a bit hard to install the bios. Check back a few pages for the complete (horror) story.

As for accessories, I'm using a Logitech g700 as mouse and coolermaster pad, I believe it's called u2 or u3 notepal something. A really old model that I was using years ago on my msi gt683dx. I use it when lying in bed or on the couch to raise it from the fabrics, without any fans attached to it.

Mouse pad, the one I received in 2009 with my aw M17X (quad core, hybrid sli 280m). I like it because it is stiff and I can use it on the couch without it bending.

In my bag I carry the external hdd, about 10-12 usb sticks, 4 pens (3 blue, 1 red), 1 utp cable 1m long, 3 usb chargers and about 4-5 mini usb cables, a 7" tablet and of course the power brick and mouse.

    @Prema
can i actually mod my 980M Gsync Bios with Maxwell Bios Tweaker 1.36? I can mod values but don't want to brick anything even when it saves fine, dunno if the laptop cards have some bits more in there, than the desktop counterparts.
