I have tried running (windows 10 64bit) Nvidia 375.95 and it has caused issues running games with g-sync (v-sync OFF, fullscreen mode). I got one game to work by running it as administrator with windows 7 compatibility mode. Overwatch experiences either low fps on fullscreen, or high fps stutter on borderless windowed.

I have gone back to Nvidia 369.56 and both games work fine on fullscreen, although Overwatch experiences an odd black screen bug every now and again.

This is very frustrating as it seems to either be inherent to g-sync laptops, or clevo laptops. I can't find anyone having the same issue.

Happening to my friend in some games. Clevo P650RS GSync not working in full screen mode. It's causing huge fps hits.

Yeah that clevo driver is older I believe (and it is the one I state I currently have 369.56) Battlefield one requires 372.90 or later.

Edit: Sorry I realise now this comment wasn't for me.

Got em from Clevo already, but thanks.

Yeah, it feels terrible to have a beast of a machine and have it plagued by all these problems, really cheapens the experience, but for $1600 you get what you pay for I guess. I've experienced the screen constantly turning off after a couple minutes of me not touching it, (always seems to happen at the climax of a movie/show and I have to frantically touch the touchpad ) regardless of any power settings whatsoever. This even happens when I'm actively making inputs while playing games, in which case the screen turns off and on about 5 times accompanied by horrible audio distortion. Really a terrible experience. Can't find a fix. I'll take a video of it if I have my phone handy while it occurs.

I mean it's not a hardware issue. My GSync works fine. I'm not sure what's wrong quite yet.

Can someone with clevo's nvidia 369.56 test to see if Nvidia Inspector works? It doesn't work for me. I can use Nvidia Inspector with the recent nvidia 375.76 and with the original clevo disc driver 368.83.

Strangely, I think (without extensive testing) that I'm getting the best performance with 368.83...

Hi there guys, just signed up and to ask you knowledgeable fellows a quick question.

I recently ordered the metabox p670rs-g, and from what i read on these forums there is a problem with fan speeds and such with this model due the bios fan tables (correct me if im wrong).

I recently discovered this bios, http://www.eluktronics.com/support/p650rs-g-p670rs-g-p670rp6-bios-update/, its bios version 1.05.05. this bios was sort of mentioned on the p650rs thread, but i couldnt find any sort of definitive answer whether it fixes the fan issue, or maybe causes some other undesirable effect and thus should not be used.

can anyone kindly give me some input on this... it would greatly appreciated...

You know what, I am at 100Hz... didn't think that that'd be the cause. I'll try stock res again and see what that does, thanks for the suggestion.

    Hello!
I have been thinking of getting clevo p670rp6/ sager np8172-s from xoticpc. Since most of you already have it, and are using it, I wanted to ask a few questions about it. Are there any issues that I should be ready for? Can those issues be fixed or should I look for another laptop?
I read somwthing somewhere about the preme bios and the stock bios, can some please tell me what that is and whether I should be worried about that?
I have never owned a gaming laptop, hence this will be my first, so I want to make sure I'm not making a mistake choosing this!

First off, this is a phenomenal laptop. No regrets at all on my part in getting it.

I think pretty much all issues have been sorted by now. When you get it check what BIOS/EC version you have and maybe update it. Some of the Clevo software is finicky, and you may need to be careful with it (Clevo Control Center ugh). But these are all pretty niche issues that those of us who get our kicks this way are discussing. You should have minimal problems getting it out of the box and using it. And, well, if you do have a problem just come and ask - there is even a google doc floating around somewhere that lists all of the solutions to common problems.

Sooner or later (we all hope sooner) @Prema will release his BIOS for these laptops. It will open up a lot of additional options in the BIOS that the stock BIOS does not have - overclocking, (hopefully) flexicharge, etc. If you are not interested, no loss to you - just use the stock BIOS.

Thank you very much for taking the time and replying! I use a desktop now, been using the same thing for about 7 years, so idon't think i'll be worrying about overclocking anything anytime soon with the P670RP6. Hopefully i'll get it by the end of the year.
What does the clevo control center do anyway? Are there any alternatives of the sort?
As for bios, i have never updated one before, so hopefully it'll be updated out of the box. Does the stock bios have any major problems that might mess with my usage or anything?
I will be buying this for gaming mostly, so i hope the nvidia drivers, gsync issues and everything are okay by the time i get it. Thank you again btw!

the stock BIOS is very limited.

    Benefits of Prema BIOS:

    • The ability to disable other drives connected to your system without physically removing them from your laptop, this comes in handy when installing Windows as you never want to have more than one drive connected at the time you are installing Windows otherwise the Windows setup will place the boot files on the 2nd drive it sees which hurts performance and makes it a headache when creating system images or restoring since the boot files are not on the main drive.
    • The ability to overclock, increase Turbo Power Limits and System IA/Core Current Limits
    • The ability to enable Intel Speed Shift Technology (it is disabled in the stock BIOS)
    • The ability to run RAM with speeds higher than the standard 2133 MHz. I am not talking about overclocking here, I am talking about actual RAM sticks that are rated to run at 2800 MHz for example like the G.Skill 64GB 2800 MHz kit I have. With the stock BIOS, they will not run above 2400 MHz. In the case of the P870DM3, the stock BIOS now supports up to 2666 MHz. I believe but not more, so the Prema BIOS is a must again
    • The ability to enable CSM for those who want to install other OSes like Windows 7
    • The ability to undervolt the CPU as the stock voltage is way too high which causes the CPU to overheat much quicker and thus throttle under load.
    • The ability to enable or disable CPU AES instructions or Virtualization
    • The ability to disable hibernation from the BIOS

    Benefits of Prema VBIOS:

    • Power throttle disabled
    • Over-voltage slider enabled and adjusted (up to a maximum of 1.2v)
    • Activated and adjusted thermal slider (to keep it cooler if desired)
    • Core overclock slider limit raised
    • Power consumption meter activated
    • Fixed 3D voltage base-line in order to stabilize OCs and voltage-match both cards in SLI systems (based on average ASIC)
    • Thermal protection @ 92c (once*91c are breached the system throttles volts and clocks in order to protect it)
    • Protection against Furmark and Kombustor GPU burnout (AVOID those software even with stock vBIOS)!

I recommend you get your laptop from a Prema Partner such as HIDevolution in order to receive the Prema BIOS/VBIOS as soon as they're completed for FREE.

Also, if you email donald@hidevolution.com and give him your forum's username, you can get a discount.

Do note that HIDevolution offer the fastest RAM options and latest SSDs like the SM961 and 960 PRO (currently on back order toe the larger capacities)

The P870DM3 supports 3000mhz in the standard BIOS, there are power limit options in the BIOS as standard in all our 1060 and above models too. Some of those functions can be accessed through the clevo control center.

Basically you get everything anything but the more hardcore crowd would need.

    Hey there!
That was a very very helpful post! And I read the thread you linked here too. That gave me a lot of confidence. I wil definately try and order from them now. Since i have never tinkered with the bios as much, i don't know much about it. Is it okay if i hit you up after i get the laptop?
Thank you very much for taking the time to post this! :)

I help all EVOC members. Once you get your laptop, tag me in a post and I will PM you so I can connect to you via TeamViewer, teach you everything, and help you undervolt your system safely to get lower temps at the max possible clock speed.

Also, when you do order, make a new thread in the resellers feedback forum so we can all see what are all the specs you ordered and be with you once you get your laptop

You only have control over Power Limit 1 and 2 but not Power Limit 3 and 4. There is no control over the Turbo Power Max and Turbo Short Power max which is essential to ensure we give enough juice to the CPU so it doesn't throttle due to lack of power.

Additionally, in the stock BIOS, when you access the voltage offset for the CPU, it says you can type in a negative or positive value, but if you type -minus it ignored it, so you are only able to give a positive offset which doesn't work when one wants to undervolt to achieve lower temps. Not only that , but you don't have access to the Cache Ratio voltage.

Finer voltage control can be gained with the control center software along with enough power control to TDP not being an issue.

Again an unlocked BIOS is for the hardcore only, if you need to be told what is unlocked you don't need it and the standard BIOS won't limit what you want to do.

That sucks. I just mentioned it because i know when I overclock to 84Hz and back to (apparently stock) 75Hz, it makes an audio buzz and flashes black. Sorry no idea otherwise. Maybe there is truth in the warnings about over-clocking displays :(

Once I've finished all the games I currently have downloaded, I'm just going to format the drive and re-install Windows. That should take care of it.

I think the screen going off is a Windows 10 issue. My desktop started doing it a few weeks ago after a Windows update and no matter what I set the power save to, screen goes black after 10 min.

Could be. In that case, I might hold off on reinstalling Windows
I really doubt it's due to the OC, that seems like such a strange consequence of it. Going back to stock did nothing, so I'm pretty sure it's something else. I had no issues with it for a couple days with 100Hz.

I was meaning height, but I found out that it was (unfortunately) 9.5mm.

Really? That's interesting. Sager's website says otherwise
    "Two changeable 2.5" 7mm(H) HDD/SSD (RAID 0/1 support), or one 2.5" 9.5mm(H) HDD/SSD, SATA interface
(Factory Option) Two M.2 2280 SSD (RAID 0/1 support), SATA interface or One M.2 2280 SSD, PCIe Gen3 x4 interface"
If they are both SATA drives, then that is good news, but I suspect one of them is connected via PCIe or the other SATA interface.

Just got it. My, it's gorgeous! Backlight bleed is almost non-existent, but I think there's a stuck pixel in the screen. Any tips how to remove it? Also, any tips on OC'ing the 6820HK? Thanks!

I think you have it run a few cycles until it repairs the stuck pixel

Sadly, it's still there. Definitely a stuck pixel since it only appears on black and the color of the pixel is red. Should I leave my laptop on overnight with the pixel repairing program? Also, it wasn't there earlier and only appeared after using for an hour.

You sure? Everything I've heard for all models is 2 x 7mm or 1 x 9.5mm all 2.5" only? Did you fit the 7mm at the bottom and 9.5mm at the top? Which model do you have.

Are the new 120Hz panels and RGB keyboard compatible with the older models of laptops?
