Is anyone able to post the Celco (or branded equivalent) P650 (brushed metal style) and P651 (sandblasted metal style), as I'd like to know how different these look. Are there any pros/cons to the different finishes apart from looks e.g. durability, how easy they pick up fingerprint marks etc.?

Can i force boost the 980m? cuz i get below 90 fps in LoL. no me gusta :S

I thought LoL was more CPU bound? In that case just make CPU more stable. 110 FPS on 3840QM without turboboost (2.8GHz) when running on iGPU.
-
Know still, can u force the boost somehow? -
jk i mean the gpu is not boosting enough, its around 850 ish mhz

Laptops have limitations and will never be able to perform as well as a properly cooled and build desktop.
When I game on a laptop and dont get smooth framerate I drop details and sometimes the resolution, easy fix. My laptop is used to game while on the go, not to sit on a desk at home.
If I want to play smooth on high or ultra, my desktop is there. -

Tested a bluetooth mouse (Razer Orochi 2013 on BT3.0) and some random headphones with BT4.0 and can confirm that AC1525 has no issues with pairing and usage. 4 hours straight and no hiccups or problems.
Anyways...
anyone did that OC test I requested? Wondering if anyone has pushed it past my settings. -
more seriously let's be logic : Ping in LoL is at best 19-20ms (EUW servers) >> 1/100 ms and I don't think more than 60fps is useful for the human eye
But yeah it's funny to see how 90 fps isn't enough for some when on the other part Xbox one players struggle to reach more than 900p/30fps (pc ftw)
I think however you'll have to blame the CPU on this one : simulators and RTS or turn-based strategy games are CPU intensive. would be great to try to OC your CPU via XTU. and see how it goes. Try to lower the CPU intensive settings too. -
OnT: The cpu is no problem. i just did as D2 said and it works like a charmnow i get like 250 fps, not that i need that much, but still ^^

Try contacting your vendor to see what they can do if you prefer the other machine. I can do exchanges here within 30 days of shipment.

Do you guys know if hyperx impact 1866mhz will overclock to 2133 (prema bios), or I should get the 2133 model?
-

Depends how lucky you feel and what timings you go for, every chip clocks differently. However 1866mhz ram offers pretty much all the performance haswell needs.
-
90fps isn't enough in CS:GO if you're on 128-tick servers, because you need to refresh faster than the server is refreshing to fully benefit. So on valve's servers? 65fps is fine. On ESEA etc? You don't wanna go below 130fps. Too bad the came runs like crap and sometimes you get 250fps and other times you're at 150 for no reason.
He can OC, but since these HQ CPUs can't pull any more power, he might just downclock right back if it's really being stressed. It's the downside of the HQ chips.bossbrew likes this. -
Woooo..... its out for delivery.
Well, as long as everything works out of the box, I plan to get things set up to replace my ageing mobile photo editing rig with this beast. So I will test where no one on this form seems to have focused much. Color reproduction on the Sharp screen, card reader read/write speed, photo and video editing speed/performance, ... ... .. Seems their is no point for me to push the envelope in the gaming/3d-graphics side of things, you all have handled that so well.
Oooh... and I plan to load AutoCAD, Solidworks, and MicroStation on this machine and see how they preform too...:thumbsup:Last edited: Jan 28, 2015bossbrew and LoneSyndal like this. -
p650 is reported to roughly max at around 2160 w/prema (luck allowing it of course). I wonder if that 1866 ram will automatically overclock to that max (by laxing timings automatically) or they cant reach it no matter the timings. -
Question about the dell 230w charger? Is there a performanse benifit to it?
Might be a stupid question but, is it smaller than the stock charger?
The stock charger is absolute huge, would really like to have a smaller one. -
I don't have one but I suppose isn't smaller - the more power is required, the more size it's needed -
You didn't understand what they mean by "automatically overclock".
They mean that you just plug in your 1866 Mhz Ram and your system will automatically use it @ 1866.... no need to change any settings or anything else.
If you want anything above that you'll just have to overclock it yourself the good old fashioned way.
If you want the system to "automatically overclock" to 2133 mhz then you need to buy the 2133Mhz version. -
I was planning to buy the laptop with this card... but now I read this.
Also somewhere in the middle of this thread , I think it was Cakefish that said that the module was smaller than the actual M.2 slot but he plugged it in and it was working fine.
Could some of you guys owning this laptop with the Killer 1525 please check if yours is the same?
Google translate of MYSN info:
"The WLAN module " Qualcomm Atheros Killer Wireless -AC 1525 " can not be offered in the XMG P505 and P705 XMG currently due to differing dimensions. The different dimensions mean that the module is readily released from his m.2 slot and thereby loses contact with the motherboard. This can happen for example when carrying the laptop - satisfactory reliability of the module is thus not given date.
We have reported the problem to Qualcomm . Currently can not be estimated if we can be offered for this problem in a timely manner a solution. We would therefore advise against it , to wait for availability of this wireless card and recommend instead the wireless module Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 7265 XMG P505 and the P705 XMG " -
Guys, this is my 2nd AUO IPS monitor and just like the first is total ... and yes, I'm rude and I know it. It bleeds like hell. Black screen is not black, is a collage of whites and oranges and random lights that pop off from the bezel. The worst thing is that after 2 or 3 days of use, the bleed is actually augmented.
Can someone provide me a hint on where to get a good FHD monitor, preferably IPS & Matte? There is someone in the thread that swapped the AUO for a LG, if I remember right. -
XenForo is fantastic, threads are loading much quicker now.

Ok so looks like there was a small rollback due to the forum change to XenForo platform ...some of the last posts are gone.
I'll post my question again:
I was planning to buy the clevo p650SE with a Killer 1525AC when I read the announcement from MYSN that they are no longer offering it in the P650/651 due to the fact that the size is not as it should be and thus the card is kind of loose in the M.2 slot.
Also before this I read Cakefish's (atleast i think it was Cakefish) post somewhere in the middle of this thread saying that the card was indeed a litlle bit smaller than the M.2 slot.
Can other guys that have this card please check and confirm if this is the case in general or was it just a first batch of cards that where not OK?
Later edit: Damn this new platform is really buggy.... my post is showing up behind posts that where posted yesterday....Last edited: Jan 29, 2015 -

btw, the posting order is completely messed up... pretty confusing -

I'm using Windows 8.1 and everything scales well, what doesn't support high DPI is just 2x raster-upscaled by Windows using nearest neighbour so it looks absolutely fine. Of course many third-party programs have issues, but so far nothing game-breaking. Chrome upscaling all pictures is slightly annoying though, it's necessary on pages but it's very annoying when you just open an image in new tab, it's still forcibly upscaled. The only way to fix it is to run Chrome at 1x scale which makes everything, obviously, really, really tiny.
That said, I can't say I'd recommend the 4k screens for design since Samsung one is RG-BW pentile, hence probably no pixel perfect colors (which is not really a problem at such resolutions for anything but design, but still) and the Sharp one I have has a slightly annoying rainbow sparkle that makes flat colors look very... not flat. I don't notice that in gaming, but that effect is slightly glaring while browsing and watching cartoons. Although other people in the thread did say that it doesn't bother them in the slightest, so it's probably just my personal irk. So I'd say 1080p is the safer and generally more practical bet indeed. And it's matte, too - though there's a matte 4k coming this year to Clevos apparently. -
added the linus review to the OP, as well as links to the respective PremaMods in the Mod section, enjoy!

...what's going on with the post order, by the way? I'm totally confused.

It greatly depends on what glossy screen you used, I'm using a glossy screen with very high luminosity and contrast, and the colors are vibrant and the luminosity is high enough so that most outdoor and all indoor reflections are negligible. A matte screen under the sun is as crappy as a glossy one.
You can't judge ALL glossy screens there's a lot of glossy screens out there, the 2014 macbook pro has quite a terrific glossy screen that kick all 4K matte screens out there for instance.
Some people can't stand the grainy look of matte screens. -
As my yesterday's post is gone... this is my new AUO display, and like the previous, is absolute sh!t. My vendor told me that they can send me a third panel, but I'm thinking that maybe is the AUO B156HAN01.2 that is a crappy display.
So... I'm open to suggestion. I'm eager to spend good € for a good panel, but I need to be absolutely sure that's a good one. I'm not completely sure I want to go above FHD, since I fear that things may become too small to be readable (I'm using it in dual boot, as in sig, and not everything scales well under Ubuntu).
I know that someone has the LG. How good is it? Does it present any noticeable bleed? -
