Wow I must have all the luck? Did you guys even get stage 7 or tracking info. I got all of that the next day after we had all gotten a status change to stage 2. I didn't pay for rush or anything. I even applied the free ship promo. Ups picked mine up on the 18th

So Scan have told me on their forums that Clevo themselves are the ones who forbid resellers to give out BIOS files. Which I don't really believe as mySN have the BIOS readily available on their XMG website!
-
No changes to my order status since it went to stage 2. I was wondering if you might have rushed yours but see that you didn't. Someone is looking out for you my friend! I'm never lucky just the way it goes for me! -

Hi everybody!
First of all thank you for the amzing amount of infomation that you guys shared on this laptop !
Yesterday I received my NP8651 and I would like your opinion on the screen yellowish tendency. Take a look at the comparaison with my previous Dell Studio XPS.
Do you think:
1. The color is fine, my old screen was too blue
2. I should recalibrate it?
3. I should ask for a replacement?
Thanks guys ! -
Reflashing the BIOS fixed the Hotkey CPU throttle issue. It doesn't have to be set to Performance mode in the Hotkey software anymore for the CPU to boost up to max clocks
-
Scan have if it's not broken do not try to fix it policy.

Oh, by the way, does anyone know why reflashing the BIOS made Bluetooth come back to life - twice? But then Bluetooth vanishes the day after. I'll see whether it dies again tomorrow, but it's really odd that reflashing the BIOS brings it back to life. Makes me wonder whether the issue is BIOS related. -
Sure try recalibrating the colors first , it can't hurt. -
By the way, the HOTKEY 3.05.xx is available on the CLEVO website. -
I got the IPS 1080p screen from Xotic PC so it's probably the B156HAN01.2.
What tool do you advice to calibrate a screen? I tried with the windows tool but it's not great ! -

I returned my P35x V3-CF5 today.
Is there an in depth review of this laptop with the 980M and very detailed temperatures?
I would like to know if:
There is any throttling of any kind?
What is the temperature of the CPU during hard performance for like an hour.
What are the annoying problems with it if any?
...
I checked the notebook check one it's basic. Doesn't really go into detail.
Anyone have another one? -
HTWingNut has produced a great review:

1. Driver issues
I started to get blank screen after login. I would have to unistall video drivers every time. Plus I don't like how I can't download latest drivers.
2. Power problems.
I started to get this popping when booting. And then I checked Event Viewer and found DCOM Power Problems.
3. Fingerprints
At first was not that bad but then it's like a cave man used it and there was oil all over the place.
4. Throttling - Main Reason
Just seems to me that GPU technology is ahead of CPU technology in laptops. Just the idea that the laptop is having to dial down the CPU because it is running to hot is FALSE advertising now with the PC department. I mean if you get a desktop and run it perfectly cool you will get full performance. Here you are not getting full performance.
5. Notice Lag
I notice a lot of lag after playing for a very long time. This might not be the problem with the average user but for I just started to feel it.
...
I don't think u really like the the Temps enough to buy the 8652. If it was super cool I might pull the trigger.
However I have decided to go pack to the GS60 Ghost Pro - 064. To me this is the perfect balance of temps with the best case I have see and keyboard. Call me crazy but I just like the chassis a lot. I think the 970M is the best bet is a slim factor and limit throttling. The 4710 CPU and it to me get along a lot better.
O well my journey continues but installing BF4 over and over again is getting old.
Regards (lol) -

In normal gaming usage (COD Advanced Warfare / BF4 both ultra) it's <81°C average : 70-1°C
The GPU is <63°C in heavy gaming even after several hours. (max 2 hours straight i tested), in some benchmark the usage increase so brutally that the fan isn't even turned on to cope with the heat, so it can go to MAX 76°C for like two seconds, but average : 60°C ! which is way lower than the max temp (hence my explanation). However it's ultra cool for the 980M.
If you updated our bios/EC to remove the Hotkey bug, you won't notice any lag/throttle at all. Nothing like your previous laptop.
The cooling system was really well designed tbh. -
Anyone have any experience with eurocom? The M5 pro seems to be the only p650sg option shipping here. Any feedback?

This is what i was thinking about getting. Any suggestions? Different drive config? Intel vs Killer wireless? Thanks.
Trying to stay under $2400 if possible.

Mythlogic sell CLEVO (not sager) barebones so it should be exactly the same.
If you follow the instruction perfectly it is easy for a anyone. For me a noob is someone who doesn't take the time to learn or follow the instructions..
1) create a bootable USB using rufus
2) move all the files needed
3) learn what are the Bios commands (cd myfolder : access myfolder :, dir : shows what is in the folder you are currently located in) and READ the readme given with the bios/EC zip file
4) deactivate UEFI/secure boot (and follow the instructions given on this website in the CLEVO BIOS THREAD.
5) boot on the USB
6) if you read the readme you shouldn't have ANY problems : flash the EC BEFORE, once you're taking care of the bios update, launch MESET first wait for the reboot, than launch the flashme.Bat (or xxxxxx.bat it depends)
All you need to know is here AND in the README given with the bios zip
here is the readme just so everyone can read it thoroughly :

Bluetooth mucked up again. So a BIOS reflash will reliably wake it up but it always falls back into hibernation again shortly after, so to speak.
Let's see if the replacement card I get tomorrow is any better...

I think I'm just babying my new toy and I was also in a hurry to unbox it and install my hardware over my lunch break. I installed the SSD and was trying to install the ram but couldn't figure it out.
Trying to gain access to the two ram slots under the keyboard, I searched this thread and also remember reading how.. but I cant actually figure it out at least not as quickly or self explanatory as I thought.
I have removed the screws that were marked with the keyboard symbols however I do not see a push up hole or any way to unsnap the keyboard. do you do this from the outside? I remember reading you push up through a hole?
Other than that i felt like a 7 year old boy on Christmas day -
I might have missed it but what are you using bluetooth for? Seems highly suspect to have bluetooth issues on two separate machines.
Could it be something that you are doing that is causing the issue? -
-
Is there any way to replace the battery with a better one that will last longer and if so which battery would you recommend?
-
-
So there is no way to improve the battery life with hardware?

plus most of the conversation now seems to be about the SG, which I can't really contribute to.

Hey everyone,
Got my NP8651 with the LG IPS screen yesterday and I LOVE the fit and finish of this laptop. I have win 8.1 and all of the drivers installed and everything so far is working flawlessly. I don't have the killer wireless card like many of you have, but my Intel 7625 card is working great and the bluetooth is also functioning properly. The LG IPS panel is an LP156WF4 just incase anyone may be wondering. -
Looks like I'm in a loop at Sager.. just got an update from Xotic and I am yet again in phase 2! Entered phase 2 on the 18th and now I get another notice on the 23rd that I am in phase 2 again. I bet they messed up on the 18th and I am just now hitting production. They kinda overshot the 19th ETA a bit!
Oh well.. maybe by the flippin new year..
Living vicariously through you all until I get this machine so keep posting the good stuff! -
Another issue. I've tried playing some games tonight and was faced with massive periodic frame drops in all games - though CPU temps never went past 63°C! It wasn't like this before. I stress tested the CPU using XTU and it easily held its boost clock at a stable rate and temps reached the low 80's. Not so in games, it regularly throttled. Power usage and thermals were perfectly normal. But all the games I tested had frequent frame drops, almost like clockwork. GPU-Z revealed GPU usage dipping right down for a split second whenever these frame drops occurred.
I've tried reinstalling the GPU driver and of course had the laptop say to high performance mode in both hotkey software and windows power plans. Any ideas?

Have you tried playing the games without running any monitoring software? How about closing other programs one by one whilst running the games to see if you can isolate the culprit?

Is there any other people with throttling issues with the P650SE/SG? I've got this on order but hopefully this is a one off!
-
It wasn't an issue yesterday. Now it is. No idea what changed. Hmmm...

I think this is software issue. Like I said, it had no issues keeping full boost clocks in XTU stress test.
