You can contact Larry@LPC-Digital from this forum and ask. I think it will depend on what you want to buy.

Looking at the big picture... I think it will. It works on 650rs already though and considering it fixes things it would probably be something coming when the launch dust settles

Thanks for this, I knew something was not right!

Gone are the black flashes, and gone is the unlocked frame rate! HELLO GSYNC!!! IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL!! (sorry for the caps)

I think I am falling in love with this laptop now with that new fan profile and gsync working now.

Stock Sager bios with that XMG EC.

I also did not get a warning when I tried flashing the XMG EC like you did.

I just moved into this stage too. I contacted Larry mid last week and he said they should get it back by mid to late this week. From there it's just shipping time to you. So probably early next week if I had to guess.

Can someone confirm that all P670 have 75hz screens?
I´m almost 100% sure that the first units i tried used to have 60hz, but the ones we´re building now all show 75hz, weird.

JW if there are resellers that cover both in the US and in Europe. Trying to decide between this and the Asus GL502VS and I'll be ordering it from the US and someone will be bringing it into the EU for me since prices here are around 2k USD :eek:and if anything goes wrong I don't want to be left on my own if anything comes up.

What you think about some OC? Mine LCD goes up to 100Hz with no problems at all (no distorsion or flickering etc.) and after OC picture is great in fast games... but I'm still worried that it is dangerous for LCD?

Yes and no? Youll get frame skipping before you hit anything potentially damaging

It seems 670 have superior panels to 650s overall though

HIDEvolution has a global warranty, but it is pricey. I don't know of any others that offer that.

yes it is true but you have up to 90 days to decide to extend your warranty or not .. That's what I'm doing.

I bought the P670RS-G from HID and decided not to buy the international warranty .. the price was cheaper then buying it local (equal if I added the interantional warranty), but I have prema bios, lifetime thechnical assistence from HID and CLLU on CPU + ICD on GPU as thermal paste .. all this is a plus to me.

So my reasoning is that 90 days are enough for me to decide if I have to extend the warranty from US only to International. I think that problems would show themselves long before 90 days if there are any

Hi, I've been stuck between the Clevo P650RSG and the Asus rog gl502vs for some time now. I've been leaning towards the clevo because of its build quality.
I would like to know if possible which of the two systems would have the better thermals(no throttling) and which display would be better (FHD)?

    Links: Clevo- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LBWZM4Y/ref=twister_B01LW7UH4R?_encoding=UTF8
    ASUS- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K80ZBAA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2TC87EJKQMY9O

Also if I get the Clevo, would it be better to go through a reseller or just get it through amazon?

Order status just changed to Customized Building and Testing. I'm a little uneasy with what I'm reading about the temps/noise. Was thinking about sticking with the ASUS GL502vs but the 1070 in there gets up to 84c so I'm not going cancel the order (assuming I'd even be able to at this point). From what I've seen, the clevo doesn't even get anywhere near that.

I have a P670RP6 from hidevolution. It has windows 7 and the prema bios. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced the following problem when selecting power saving mode under control center. When you select power saving, airplane mode repeatedly toggles on and off. I try to disable airplane mode by clicking the small airplane in control center that highlights green when active. A few seconds later though my preference is over ridden and it toggles back on. Even if I never touch the airplane toggle, it just keeps cycling on and off and won't stop even if you switch to entertainment mode or one of the other modes that doesn't have airplane mode on by default.

The only way to stop it is to restart the computer. Is there a way to fix this? I suspect it's a bug with windows 7 and the airplane driver. The same thing happens if I try to use the airplane FN key. It just keeps toggling ever few seconds and needs a restart.

Is there a way to fix this?

I've been using the GL502vs for the past few days and am seriously liking it. Only problem I'm seeing is the thermals for me, on a flat surface under full load, the gpu gets up to 84C. I ran a stress test and it doesn't seem like it throttles a lot, if at all. (I may be wrong) the fans seemed loud at first but I got used to them pretty quickly, especially with headphones.
Performed just as well as any other gtx 1070 laptops I've seen on the internet. Build quality is solid, though the lid doesn't 'lock' shut like most laptops. It just folds down.

Oh thanks,,, The only thing that had me worried was reports of 90+ C on the CPU that I had read on some user reviews. Well now I'm even more confused between the two.
Couple of quick questions.. Is the power button on the keyboard an annoyance, does it require a key combo to work when turned on?
Do you get frame drops/stutters on prolonged gaming sessions due to throttling? If the throttling is limited to stress tests and unrealistic scenarios then it shouldn't be a problem for me.

Has anyone figured out a solution to the second monitor problems reported by cclou and MarGTX (post #1080)? I'm surprised more people haven't complained about this. I guess most people like to use the native laptop screen.

I use a second monitor 99% of the time and these issues are the only thing holding me back from purchasing a P650RP6.

The power button is not a problem at all. Just acts like a normal power button. Playing games for hours on end is fine as long as it's on a flat surface like a table or desk. Honestly, I bought it not expecting much, but it's definitely a great competitor to what's out there now in terms of money/performance. I'm still very torn as to whether I want to return it and wait for the sager, or cancel the sager and just go with the ASUS. I haven't been this indecisive in a long time.
My recommendation, buy from a brick and mortar store. That way you can return it if it's a lemon.

Thanks for the advice, I'll at least check out the ASUS which should be available at few outlets. As for the Sager, it's minimalist design and the triple fans have me hooked... though I might go for the ASUS cause I'll get it quicker and it's screen is kinda better than the P650rs FHD.

Hey D2. No for whatever reason they are just USB 3.1 Type C ports, thunderbolt III is still only on Clevos with desktop cpus.

They are pretty similar machines. I went with the Clevo because I hate the look of the Asus, I wanted an RGB keyboard, I really like the DAC in the Clevo, and the Prema bios available on Clevos. The Clevo is also thinner. Both should have temps in the same ballpark of each other to be honest. Someone else would have to directly compare the displays but the one in the Clevo is a good IPS panel. I'm not sure about the Asus one, I'd think they are fairly similar but I don't remember anymore, one may have an edge. The 4K panel on the RS is great though.

Thanks...The look of the Asus is what's bothering me too. I might just follow Applehusky's advice and check out the Asus in person and then decide whether or not to go with the Clevo....though the Clevo does look more tempting, except for the cpu throttling issues on the default bios.

Definitely get it from a Prema bios seller in that case, or donate to Prema or something after it comes out. These are all Prema partners: https://biosmods.wordpress.com/partner/

HIDEvolution is the main U.S. one. If you go with them definitely get the liquid ultra upgrade for 30 bucks, it should significantly drop temps. Conductive thermal paste is the best, its just dangerous to apply yourself. So getting someone else to do it is the solution :p

Eurocom is also a partner but idk where their refreshes are, still just see Maxwell P650s on their page.

Edit: the P650 also thrashes it for storage and ram, with four ram slots and two 2.5" bays and 2 m.2 slots. The Asus has 2 ram slots and one m.2 and one 2.5" bay.

I've been told LPC is also a partner apparently. Someone in the Pascal thread said they talked with Larry and confirmed. They will remotely install it for you when the bios is released I guess. It doesn't say anywhere on their site as far as I can tell though.

???? That's awesome! Uh oh HID better step it up, now the only thing you have over them is liquid ultra. I still stand by LPC and HID being the top two U.S. resellers. Both have such great customer support.

Haha. I'm trying to find a time I can repaste mine. Might just go gelid gc extreme. Though the allure of the new grizzly conductonaut is strong. I've just never used liquidmetal. Don't really want to tear it apart and repaste in a cramped dorm room :/

Well no, its more if you screw up with normal paste just try again. If you screw up with conductonaut that's the end of your laptop. So yeah... That's a thing.

Thanks, now definitely leaning towards the P650rs. I've noticed that the HIDEvolution sells their systems about a $100 above Xotic and the others... Did not know the prema bios was that expensive.... The Conductive thermal paste sounds good though.. Will consider them.
