Ide still get an adapter for work... I haven't tried and I dont think it does give the system any juice (im plugged in anyways) for us we just plug all our stufd into dock leave it as is then when it comes time to plug in just plug the usb c plug into side and bam

Ide also highly recommended buying a usb c extension...a short high quality one because dell went insane and made it kinda short

Thanks guys. I don't have that much on my desk. Just monitor, kb/m. Pain to unplug and replug over time though. Guess I'll just get another adapter instead. Getting the dock will just be overkill as it'll act as really expensive USB hub.

I had no problems with custom profile before flash and also have no problem after. Maybe your CC is corrupted?

It improves fan management. Fans speeds up now with temps more linear, not 0 - 1 like before.

Do you own a P670RS? Which CCC Version are you running? I have the x.58 because the x.72 does not recognize my settings after a reboot.

As you may see in my sig I have P670RS-G ;)
My CCC shows x.74 and it's a little mistery to me because I downloaded from sager site version x.81 :)

Can anyone rec a wireless display adapter for this notebook or alternative to have my smart tv act as a second display for work purposes? Or is a long cable the way to go?

Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Edit: looks like the terrible Microsoft wireless display adapter is the best bet. Have to check if hybrid mode works with trashy miracast

Interesting. Can you provide me a link to this x.74 Version? That would be awesome! i tried the x.81 as well and it also said while installing that it is indeed x.81 but it didnt fix my custom fan problem.

EDIT: NVM, found it myself. should i reinstall windows or is the uninstall routine from CCc good enough?

Just noticed that the latest NVIDIA driver sometimes go crazy on the P650RP6-G, not sure if this happens in other units but with the P650RP6-G it is now the third time i see this bug.
If you set to DISCRETE you will see the GSYNC option in NVIDIA Control Panel, you can activate it but in games the FPS are not locked at max 60fps hence the GSYNC is not actually working.
For the time being i downgraded the version on my site to NVIDIA-368.83

Not pleased with fans or temps so far. I have had my system for about an hour (installing and such now). While installing WoW and using Edge to type this reply, fans kicked on and temps got up around 55. Stopped the WoW install and switched over to Chrome, began typing the reply again and there is massive lag in typing as well as temps at 47. I'm not looking forward to gaming temps....

I actually wrote about similar experiences to yours about a week ago. One note on lag - this site in particular has caused me massive input lag on occasion. It must have been some ad they run or something because it's been fine since. I haven't noticed any typing lag on any other site.

For temps I usually see 40s and 50s on the GPU with light gaming and 50s and 60s with spikes into the 70s on the CPU (6820). I haven't run anything that will stress the system yet, though, aside from benchmarking which threatens to melt my system. Mine came with the IC paste-job. I don't relish the idea of having to repaste myself but I might if updated fan profiles don't cool things down. I'm waiting for Xotic to release an update before I mess with that.

That's pretty amazing. I might have to repaste before next summer. Even with AC my stock paste P70 doesn't get below 40 c idle

I was having similar issues with Firefox with many tabs open. One thing was that I was on battery and didn't change the settings to performance and I was also not yet running ublock or privacy badger. pretty sure those addons fixed the issue but it doesn't help sustain nbr

Switching to custom fans in the control center helped with the noise. I set them to turn on above 60 and turn off below 50, so the fan noise issue is resolved for now. I am still a little concerned with the high idle temps though. Average for both CPU and GPU (discrete mode) seems to be around 55 while browsing and downloading WoW. Switching to MSHybrid dropped CPU to around 50 with no reports for GPU (not used).

I will say that this machine is definitely a little warm to be using on my lap without a lapdesk so far. However, the build quality is great, keyboard feels fantastic, and I can't believe my screen has ZERO light bleed. I ordered the special version, so there SHOULD be IC Diamond paste on CPU and GPU, but I'm wondering whether that actually happened.

My CPU idles at 32°, GPU 41° in summer conditions, living under the roof even. Repasted myself (Kryonaut).
So im fine on this side but my custom fan profile is corrupt and flexi charger ist not working at all.

Are those temps from your lap? Think the worst place for a "laptop" is on your lap since the intakes for air are underneath the notebook. My idle is around 40c with stock paste. I'm jealous that some people have sub 40c with good TC

To be fair I must add, that my i7 is little undervolted (right now is -130, when I wrote my temps it was -110)

Very nice at CPU. Few minutes ago I made some stress test in XTU and at the moment my CUP idles at 36 and GPU at 39 (discrete mode). 25C ambient.

It looks like the NP8153 and NP8153-S are no longer backordered at Sager. Anyone know the typical waiting type between placing an order on Sager and actually receiving the laptop?

So does undervolting reduce temperature without affecting performance? How do I do it? Downloading FFXIV now and seeing CPU temps of 60-65. GPU around 50. This just doesn't seem right for patching an MMO and browsing the web.

EDIT: By the way, I didn't finish the WoW download, but logged in during the partial download and maxed settings at 1600x900....30-40 FPS and temps in the 80s. That really sucks.

maaaan, i tried the x81 version but it does nothing. custom fan profile goes like this: run fans at the lowest speed possible until the notebook overheats, then kick in max speed. whyyyyyyyy. /sadface

Definitely not normal behaviour. I think repasting with good paste will help.

And what you see in tray, x.81 or x.73? With new EC I use automatic profile. It works good.

Or an evil background task? Check fans? My p670 stock compound idles around 43c. If you are capping at 30fps are you on battery or plugged in? I was getting 30fps on battery since I didn't change nvidia settings. But since fps can be a function of temp def might be bad tc application

I don't know, but I am not impressed thus far. I'll give it a day or two of use before making a decision, but I'm currently leaning towards returning this. Now t
Vsync was on (not sure about Gsync), and settings were chosen by GeForce Experience to maximize quality. Was getting between 30-40 with no caps (that I was aware of). While downloading FF14, WiFi has disconnected twice, and I had to restart only to get hung on the restarting windows screen and having to power off using the physical button.

Out of curiosity regarding the fan cycles, I turned on a stopwatch and just stared at the FF14 client download screen (no other tasks other than background stuff). Fans alternated between totally off and full blast on the following intervals (odd numbers silent, even full fans):

    1. 52.58
    2. 23.65
    3. 1.00.98
    4. 24.37
    5. 45.81
    6. 49.30
    7. 31.10
    8. 29.33
    9. 50.51
    10. 24.65

So that's 52.58 seconds of silence, 23.65 seconds of full fans, about a minute of silence...and so on. This is nuts. None of my Alienware, MSI or Asus machines have ever behaved like this. Should I expect these types of random annoyances from Sager, or did I get a lemon?

Is there anything in software that might be preventing flexicharger from working? I turned it on in bios just now and it didn't stop charging at 100%. Gonna keep testing.

Does anybody know what kind of wait I am looking at with "Customized Building and Testing" with LPC-Digital. I am writing java code for my class and its causing my current laptop to freeze often once over ~50 lines. So kind of need my new one. I can borrow a laptop from someone but if this will come soon then I wont! I live in Ohio, USA if that matters.

EC update is for XMGs variants just fair warning but works perfect. If you go to XMGs downloads section find the P505 & P707 update and download the .38mb (Around there) TR2 update if you have P650RP6 download P505 mit 1060 and both RS/ P670RP6 use the one that says its for P505 and P707 too. Just grab usb stick rufus it with freedos disable uefi mode in bios then boot into dos type the name of the .bat file in xmgs folder and your good to go.

Its same as bios update just extra step. Its far from driver update though since its updating the controller firmware not something top level like the OS.
