Forgive me if you guys have answered this question a bunch of times...
Sager factory version has an "IC Diamond" paste option. What's their track record for pasting? I can also do this and perhaps use another compound (*not* liquid metal or anything that conducts electricity =P). I will probably get this optional paste job because it's relatively cheap and I can repaste if temps look off, but I'm interested to hear what people's experience are with this. -

Have any of you had any issue with the Kill Network cards? Been reading up to get ready for when my machine gets here and found this:

Just curious if I should ask the reseller I went with to put the stock intel drivers in. -

I ordered the laptop with Windows 10 preloaded. Will I need to load any drivers or is it good to go? -

well I just ordered the Eluktronics P670rp6 from newegg. I talked to Eluktronics over email and said they include a non gsync ips pannel which surprised me. I got it for a price I could only get close with building completely bare bones from others.

So some news.... EC flash from XMG worked perfectly on my RP6 even though its labeled for RS which is no issue since it uses same bios between the systems decided to tempt fate.
So for those wanting to use it...its as simple as running rufus, booting into freedos with bios in legacy mode and typing ecflash.bat

My P650RS-G arrived two days ago and I was so excited to test out the new system, but alas...one of the onboard RAM slots is defective
Originally I was just running some stress tests to try and see if all the components were working so that I could potentially overclock (I have a 6820hk), but it kept failing every stress test with "hardware failure" messages (Aida64, MemTest, Prime95). I am using 4x8gb DDR4 2133 modules so I thought one or more of them might be defective, so I started to run MemTest 86 with one RAM stick at a time. Surprisingly, the modules ran fine so I wondered if one of the onboard RAM slots was malfunctioning. I tested a stick of RAM in each slot and found that the right slot behind the keyboard was defective; any time I put a stick of RAM in there, weird things started happening. I got a BSOD at the WIndows login screen and I just finished repairing my Windows installation (thank God I saved the Windows installation on my USB stick).
Hopefully, LPC-Digital can give me a working unit in due time, as this is my primary laptop for school. It would be wonderful if they would let me keep using the laptop (with the 3 working RAM slots) while they ship me a new one, but I don't know if that's going to happen.
EDIT: Well looks like the left one under the keyboard isn't working. Guess that kind of makes sense since they're dual channel and everything...Last edited: Sep 11, 2016 -

Hi guys, I got my p650rs running on 1070 and did some monitoring of the temperatures using hwinfo. My gpu temperatures went up to max 88 degrees while gaming on return of the tomb raider on max settings. Is it normal? If not, I most probably go back to my reseller and ask them to repaste the gpu. I have underclock the cpu to -175.
-
I used the same file. I learned the German circa 25 years ago but as I understood EC_XMG_P507_P707_1.05.02TR1 was prepared for 15,6" with 1070 and 17" with 1060/1070 while EC_XMG_P507_mit_1060_1.05.02TR1 only for 15"6 with 1060. -
Anyone knows how to open the p650rp6-g. Im trying to open it currently removed all screws and pulling at the ethernet port but i got a lot of resistance. i also see that my gpu heatsink is coming up as well. Im really afraid to pull further cuz i feel like i might bent my heatpipes or something. i already cut my finger when i tried to slide that under to create more room. I just spotted two small plasic pieces at the roster and get under the heatsink and pull it up... nvm finnaly got it lose by putting some cards under it and opening it via the lower end

Mine comes with stock paste. Guess I will go back and ask the reseller to repaste. Thanks for the advice.

I just updated the EC from XMG and wow what a difference. My only gripe with this machine was the fan noise. With this new EC and gsync activated it was so much quieter playing CSGO. I am sure when I play something more demanding the fans will kick up higher but at least when I need it quiet (like when sat by my better half) I can just lower the settings and cap the frames
-
Can anyone post a vid of the difference between fan noise before and after updated EC firmware from XMG?
Trying to convince myself which laptop to buy between this a MSI GT62 and maybe a NP9152/P750DM2 ( don't think I need a desktop CPU but sort of want one)
Looking for the quietest GTX 1070 GPU equipped laptop when gaming and so far the GT62 has a slight lead but I ask you owners what you think of the fan noise?

0. Unplug the notebook. Make sure you keep track of where ALL of the screws come from so you know where to return them.
1. Remove all screws from the bottom of the notebook including the keyboard screws
2. Remove the bottom cover by lifting from the Ethernet port. Cover should gently pop off. If it seems resistant check to make sure you haven't missed a screw
3. There is a rectangular metal frame held down by 3 screws near the front of the laptop. Remove those 3 screws.
4. Lift the metal rectangular frame
5. Screw in your SSD into the rectangular frame using the 4 extra silver screws in the HDD plastic bag that came with the manual. Probably the top slot I think. Make sure it lines up to the SATA interface on the laptop.
6. Return the rectangular frame with SSD into the slot in the laptop. Push the SSD firmly into the connector.
7. Return the 3 screws into their appropriate slots.
8. Replace cover and all screws.

I actually remember you were asking about quiet machines a year or so ago. I had a P157SM w/ 780m and wanted to make sure I never bought such a loud machine again.
Ended up with a MSI GT72 (980m) for a while... but as quiet as it was (steady "whoosh" only), it was way too big. Sold it, and have been very happy with my Dell 7559 (960m) since.
But now the 960m is getting to the stage where it's just not cutting it. I think the P670RS-G would be my ideal machine (GTX 1070, display which overclocks to 100hz, subtle styling) - but reports of loud fan noise has really put me off. Was hoping a mix of an updated BIOS and undervolted CPU might be the magic pill which means I can dive back into Clevo's.IKAS V likes this.
