There definitely some games that even my 2014 blade can push 1800p at just fine and they look amazing.

That being said there's plenty of less demanding games that would look and play amazing on a 1070 at 4K.

Huh, you are making me think about the 4k screen again. Except it seems the p670 doesn't have the option of a 4k screen while the p650 does? Anyone know why?

Spent some time with my 650 rs-g tonight. I ran a couple of benchmarks, though I'm not really familiar with the tools. I'll post some of the results below.
And here's the temps and other details after the benchmarking. Note that I had The test running for a good ten minutes before I started the benchmark.
Note the max temps, especially on the CPU. This thing got hot! And when the CPU fan kicked up to max it was really loud.
Here's another test:
And the stats after I ran it.
I don't really know what to make of these results, if they're meaningful at all. But I can give you my subjective impressions from these tests and some limited gameplay on my own.
1. The chassis doesn't seem to heat up much. I haven't noticed it become more than warm to the touch.
2. The GPU fans, when spun up, are loud enough to distract. But I wouldn't call them particularly noisy. If you were sitting on your couch with your family and they were running at 100% it would be a bit much. Not enough to have to raise your voice or anything. With the very limited gaming I've done so far the system hasn't heated up enough to make the fans kick up at all, though. Absolutely quiter than my old Asus G73JH (17").
3. It seems like the CPU fan is even louder than the GPU fans. Only one of the tests spun it up, though.
4. I'm getting some input lag even as I type this. I don't know what's causing it but it straight-up sucks. The windows install from Sager is a clean one with no bloatware. I turned Cortana off as much as I could and am using Chrome rather than IE. Still getting this annoying lag.
5. The GPU was set to "discrete" in the bios by default. So, presumably, I'm running only off the dedicated GPU.
6. The aluminum chassis is stealthy, with no markings. But boy is it going to show every fingerprint and smudge.
7. The keyboard can glow with all of the colors of the rainbow, very nice. I also like the feedback from the keys.
*Edit - it seems like there might some trouble with the images loading. Let me know if they don't show up and I'll try to find a workaround. -
Eagerly awaiting my P650RS-G as well! Need it for school so hoping it comes in soon. I placed my order with LPC on the 18th but I foolishly left out a disk drive (I thought we were allowed to just omit disk drives if we had our own) so it didn't get sent in until the 22nd. Larry has been super helpful with keeping me updated though, and I can't imagine how stressful his situation is right now. I think he said it would ship out hopefully by the end of the week so keeping my fingers crossed with you guys!

It's been only 2 business days since I ordered and I keep logging in on HIDevolution to check my order xD

Hardcore88: Why don't you buy your laptop at Pcspecialist? They are in the Uk so cheaper ship price if you have an issue with the laptop ... and no risk of import duty

hi guys this is my first time buying a gaming laptop i saw the temps on the 1070 it reaches 88c is it acceptable already on a laptop since I am concerned that it might negatively affect the GPU's life if it is constantly running at temps like that when gaming... i am mostly a desktop guy and the highest temp i have seen on my GPU is 77c
I also saw on Clevo that the new models has TPM is it installed by default on the sager models?
Thanks -
So from what i saw, it's the stock BIOS/EC that is the culprit according to pcSpecialist :
this was posted on the PCSpecialist forum :
I Think the fan profile are messed up. -
Max temp of Gpu could reach 94°C (Nvidia Spec) ... And max cpu temp could go up to 100°C ...
Obviously those are the Maximum values that mustn't be reached to prevent overheating and damage.
(there is security that will reduce the frequencies on Cpu/Gpu to prevent reaching those temperatures).
So 88°C is high temp but is not a risk for the Gpu ... and i presume that this result is with stock thermal compound ... it could be better with a more efficient thermal compound like IC7.
Those temp could reduce the life of your laptop ... but in fact, you won't notice that (because you will buy another laptop before it will happen). Btw it's obvious that lower temperatures are safer and that doesn't mean that you will never have a failure with the laptop.
Btw like wickette said, maybe the fan profile are not already well tuned (laptop makers must balance the heat vs noise on their profile). -

The day after I paid for my laptop I decided to change the configuration and replace the i7 6700hq with the i7 6820hk.
So I went on their website and configured the same pc with the new i7 6820hk.
The difference was 105€, but they asked me 150€ for the change, despite it was clear that I was right.
I even sent them the screenshot where I showed the correct price. After that I sent them 4 emails and received
4 copy and paste reply all with the same text telling me that they wer sorry but for the change I asked the correct price was 150€.
And the funny thing is that in my emails I was asking different things, so they didn't even read them.
So I decided to cancel my order and the confirmation that the order was cancelled arrived on august 23. In the afternoon of 23 august they told me that they already order the bank transfer for the refund.
This morning my money has not arrived yet so contacted them asking for explanations.
It turns out that they ask me for my bank account info because they need it to do the bank transfer. So they never did it on the 23 august as I was told.
My personal experience was bad .. even though I know that have great reviews
In the end I opted for HID evolution .. I paid 100€ less but I have the prema bios and better thermal Paste (CLLU on CPU and IC Diamond on GPU).
The only drawback is the warranty .. HID has bad warranty options for NO US citizens. I didn't take the international warranty, but I have the option to extend until 90 days since the date of purchase
About the taxes and custom duties they offer th UK dispatch services that is great fro EU citizens since it allows you to not pay taxesLast edited: Aug 31, 2016 -
Sorry to hear that ... my only experience of pcspecialist is an rma for dead pixel on my P375sm-a screen
and they were really efficient ... only one week for sending the unit from France to Uk, replacing the screen and send me back my computer. -

i bought this p670: p670rp6
it comes without the G SYNC. I dont know if i screw up, but its cheap -
Well with 1080p most games it wont matter, but if you want you can order http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8172s-clevo-p670rp6.html?startcustomization=1 which comes with 16gb ram and the IC diamond upgrade free. As well use code nbr for 50 off so it would only be 20 more... but G-Sync isnt a must just figured i would point this out. -

On another note...My w10 install may be bad. Anniversary keeps seeing my pro key as pro education, ms insists its oem and to reinstall but darned key keeps switching ver. to pro education and failing activation...dont know if i should resolve that tidbit before benches

Well I've bitten the bullet and joined the P651RS-G owner's club :-D
I bought it from Scan.co.uk with an i7 6700HQ, a GTX1070, 16gb ram, no hard disks (I have my own) and no windows (get it from work). It turns out they do Arctic Silver paste on all custom laptops. This totalled £1517. Which is the best price I've seen in the UK for that spec.
I got the last one in stock, yay! so they reckon I'll have it by Friday or Monday. Weekend wait is going to be agony if it does turn out to be monday...
Oh, it also has that switchable bios to enable/disable optimus and gsyncLast edited: Aug 31, 2016 -
do cooling pads do much for lowing the temps?

Struggling to fing a reseller that fits an i76820hk with the 1060 and a german keyboard into 15' over here. Pretty sure i checked all european reseller by now. Is this combination just that odd or do i simply have to wait till someone gets this into stock?

I'm anxious to see your thermal performance since we'll have practically the same equipment. -
Well, you right, kind of. Would still need to scratch the german keyboard. Unfortunately they couldn't give me an ETA on the german keyboard layout. Im pretty confident i can swap it myself, but then i'd need to get a german keyboard (preferably the simple white led one) somewhere else.HardCore88 likes this. -

Plays very nice on high settings, pretty much always over 65fps.
Everything on ultra and it will struggle a bit, dippibg bellow 30 when the action is more intense. I prefer more FPS and it still looks awesome on high. -

On another note, are we able to adjust the RGB lit keyboard? Lets say i prefer a simple red one. Or is this a feature thats not meant to be changed / only available for the black finish? -
