I'm using Prema Mod v4. When I select 2133mhz and manually put in the timings, I save and exit. Upon restarting the ram is running at 1866mhz. If I select automatic the ram runs at 1333mhz. It won't stay at 2133mhz.

Xeon (v1 DDR3-1600) and Xeon v2 (DDR3-1866) dont use more then the official spezifikation :(

    I tested it with E5-2680, E5-2689, E5-2640v2 and E5-2667v2.

Ah missed the xeon, yes they are totally locked down to official specs only in all aspects.

I think "unlocked Xeon" might be a contradiction. :p

Although I wonder if there might exist ES chips that are unlocked.

It has a power limit on it yes, as soon as that limit is able to be edited there will be no problem.

ALL Xeons made in recent time are utterly locked.

    Quick question(s):
When upgrading from a P370SM3 Sager to a P570WM Eurocom, most of the drivers seem the same. However, since it will be a different processor, do I have to change out the chipset drivers? If so, can I just load the same system hard drive onto the new machine without issue (without having to reinstall windows and all programs) so that I can change those chipset drivers?

Separate your questions into different paragraphs rather than colours as it's easier to read.

Yes re-install the chipset drivers. Usually you can use the same hard drive but ensure all important data is backed up just in case.

I did it that way because sometimes when posting mutliple questions in one post, only 1 gets answered which leaves various open interpretations to the answers of the other questions.

But what I meant with the green question is that I know the harddrive will work but I'm just being cautious as to if I should delete the chipset on the current machine before I put it on the new machine or do I just reinstall the chipset afterswards when it's already in the other machine?

I would honestly just do a fresh install to avoid the needless headaches later on.

Them chipset drivers are a pain in the arent they~ lol. But I got way too many programs to reinstall (again) if I go that route.

Just install over the current set, it can cause issues if you remove them I have found.

Very nice) Is it the max for the memory or you might hit 1750Mhz with a proper vbios?

SO.... I recently had a bright idea regarding the hydro cooler and the original CPU heat-sink for my p570wm, I was attempting to re furbish it in order to mount the cooler to the top of the CPU heat-sink. I was succesfull in removing the CPU fan1 copper heat finset, as well as relocating the single heatpipe and drilling the mounting holes out of the aluminum plate. However as I was piecing it back together, I over heated the heatpipes and they expanded ruining the CPU2 finset and the heatpipes. I am now looking for a new CPU heatsink. I have requested a quote from my retailer, however was wondering if anyone here knows or can source one for me.
    Thanks.

@takazeo thats the only downpart to clevo is parts.

if they are more open like alienware then it'd probably sell a lot more, i mean they got tons of reseller in the states already.

guess dell alienware just so much bigger and has much more funding

I am not sure but shouldn't be a Clevo/Sager Spare Parts Retailer in your Country?

In Germany we have this one:

    Clevo Germany

There you can get almost every part you need, at least a new CPU Heat sink.

As for the idea for an "Aquabook": a friend of mine realised the idea in converting a whole water cooling System INSIDE a MSI GT70.

    Just take a look: http://we-mod-it.com/board1-modding/board13-tagebücher-casemods-casecons/2140-aquabook-rev-3-extreme-edition/index9.html

Of course he did much more as just to implement a water cooling System, but I think with proper modifications this should be able in a P570WM too. :D
The outcome was about 20-25 degrees less heat generation which should leave some space to push your machines a little bit further....

if p570wm goes with that i'd have my machine 5.0ghz all day everyday.

btw anyone here know if too much voltage and temp causes degrade on CPU? i read somewhere its both voltage and temp but voltage increase causes temp to increase, so is it just temperature?

If the P570WM went with that, good luck lifting it ^-^ Voltage a temp degrade a chip roughly equally.

Found parts very cheap from my reseller. The aqua-book is a pretty interesting idea. Mine was a bit more complex having the fan and the watercooling in one system, but overall very similar. I like the way the Lexan blocks are discrete and unified in that design.

Who cares with a desktop chip. Buy the intel 25.00 over clocking warranty and have at it. Take that chip and toss it like a frisbe and still get it replaced. You cant do that with mobile cpu. :)

Mostly with mobile CPUs it's a case of the temperatures getting out of hand way before you reach dangerous voltage levels.

Not saying it in a negative way. :)

All though I was surprised to get another set of them. As far as I can tell. I have not taken the machine apart yet. That is what cpuz tells me thus far.

I was just wondering, based on your conversation, are the 4 GB 1600 Samsung sticks better because they have greater adjustability in timings? I ask this question because I have the 4 x 8GB 1600 Samsung kit, I am able to over clock them to 2133, but not able to adjust timings. I have tried to adjust them at several different levels including 1600, 1866 and 2133, but I am not able to boot any of them at other than the stock 11,11,11 timings. Maybe the 4 x4GB is the sweet spot?

I run at 2133mhz 10-10-10-100 1t. My sticks are ok just adjusting the main timings down as you like (and even run the 1600mhz sub timings at 2133mhz) but every stick is different. It also needs to be the right batch to get the best performance.

Ok it was not the standard format for timings, here is a screenshot:

(it's an old picture so it has been adjusted slightly since)

You would need a modified bios to show the card as a 980M tetsuro but it should install modified drivers and work without one.
