Say friend, I realize you are removing names and emails, but this is still against forum rules. Please go back and edit those posts and summarize the message in your own words. The information you are sharing is still appreciated just as much. Thank you for letting us know what you learned.

This is to respect people that may not know about and may not appreciate their emails (private correspondence) being put on public display.

Here is what the Forum Rules state:

    Thanks. Here was my reply:

As much as possible, avoid cross-posting as well. That is also one of the bullets in the forum rules (see bullet #4). I like how you posted a link to this tread in the other one initially. That's an excellent way to alert others to the discussion in a different thread, and it's not cross-posting. I actually would encourage that because it's impossible to keep track of every discussion that has content that might be of keen interest.

    Have a nice afternoon.

I got new bios from sager for my laptop but they seem to have problem with 3D model. they gave me normal model bios and Lost my 3D stereoscopic in nvidia panel. I think I should go back to my old bios with 3D vision supported.

Yes a bit more ccompetition could be interesting. It won't match the p570wm for raw cpu power though.

Yea, so its compatible. You need to mod the drivers, and that link that they post aren't modded or anything

So long as you have a 780m+ capable P570WM we'll be more than happy to sell you the card :) Once we get enough backstock to sell them alone

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to de-lid a i7-3970x ? That is I have read that deviations in core temps can be caused by poor paste under the Heat Spreader...or perhaps degraded. I have read two thoughts on the matter; one, the lids are soldered and you can't de-lid them safely, the other says it is necessary in order to overclock effectively. Thoughts an opinions?

I recently repasted with Liquid Ultra, seems to be doing ok so far, nothing significant other that temps seem to jump around more, but no noticeable change in temp so far

3970X IHS is soldered, so there's really no point in delidding.

@ n=1, I am not saying your wrong but it looks like glue all the way around it and not solder?, also if yo usearch de-lid 3970x, there is a post by someone who "recommends" it for this chip? Have you ever de-lidded any other chips, and for what purpose?

If it has what looks like a "breathing hole" then there's a 99% probability it's soldered. IIRC all the HEDT chips had a soldered IHS.

If by recommend you mean this thread, the next post basically just says what I did.

Oh yeah it can definitely be done, there's even a picture of a delidded Xeon X5670 which has a soldered IHS. Just saying there's a high risk you may kill your chip since you'll need to heat the solder past its melting temp, which is typically (far) in excess of 100C.

Considering 144hz 1440p takes more bandwidth than 4k 60hz it has to be displayport :)

Yeah even HDMI 1.4b only has enough bandwidth for 120Hz @ 1080p correct?

And I remember reading somewhere that the theoretical bandwidth of dual-link DVI allows somewhere in the ballpark of 80-90Hz @ 1440p, but definitely not 120Hz. So yeah only DP has enough bandwidth for 120Hz @ 1440p right now.

I gotta ask. Why do people even say that? These are not desktop cards. And the newer games haven't even gotten released yet. And there are a few games that seriously struggle with mobile cards.
That is just crazy. Current game I'm playing right now. "Shadow of Mordor" Still struggles at parts and it's maxed at 1080P. A single desktop 980 will struggle so what makes people think the mobile cards wont? That's crazy.
