Johnksss here are 2 benches I ran with stock cpu and overclocked gpu. If you look at a previous post you'll see my stock XTU settings. I really don't know what adjustments to make to overclock the cpu. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4960X,Notebook P570WM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4960X,Notebook P570WM

Somehow my account at Futuremark got screwed up and I lost all my results and license keys. The guy in charge over there said he would fix it Monday. As far as I can remember my 3DMark 11 score was about 17,400 and my Vantage was about 48000

Thanks Meaker. I only can overclock that chip to 4.0GHz.? What a waste of money. What about "additional turbo voltage" which is in mV?

I said it was a starting point, to help test if things are working properly, not a suggestion of final settings, every chip is different and requires individual tweaking.

    Hey guys,

    I'm planning on buying a p570wm
Probably at mysn.de/mysn.eu because I'm from belgium and that's The closest store selling it :)

But i have a question I read somewhere that the gtx 8xx series are coming out in the not do distant future.. Should i wait for them and then buy one with 780's cheaper or doesn't it get cheaper quick?

And is i7 4820k good enough for gaming and how does it overclock?

    Ok!
Then I'm not Going to wait for The 8xx series.

Is the i7 4820k good enough to play cpu demanding games?
    I mainly play cs:go.

Or should I go to a 4930k immediatly?
I personally think that the six cores won't do much for that game. Could be wrong though.

You should be more than fine with the 4820, I don't see a need going any higher.

4930k or go with the P370SM/P375SM instead.

For those who might be interested here is a pic of my setup:

how is 4820 130w TDP CPU when its only quadcore, shouldn't it be similar to 3770k? both ivy bridge, both quad core, one maybe has more pcie lane that's about it. 3770k only rated at 70ish TDP.

Yes, it will never use that much, a TDP that high for it will ensure it will always be at max turbo.

Definitly Going for the p570wm. I want he 120hz screen and the desktop cpu!
    Bragging rights :p
    Don't want a p370sm.

    Nice setup!
Used to play cs1.6 semi-pro so i know that it's also good hardware that Lets you play better.
Would buy a desktop but i don't have the space for permanent placement. With this i can put it in a closet somewhere :)
And go to my friends to lan easier than a desktop.

so basically, 4820 can go 5.0ghz with this heatsink eh? or should be doable.. desktop cpu runs cooler than laptop iirc it uses less voltage than 3940xm on higher multiplier even its listed as higher TDP value.

I waited until the 120Hz screen was back on the Sager site before I ordered on Thursday. By Saturday it was no longer listed as the base screen. The base model is now the 90% screen. I shouldn't have waited.

It's still available on the 9380 with the 3D emitter built in, but as for the 9570 it's gone for now. It's not the first time its been removed and brought back, typically happens when they're expecting a long delay to get displays back in or models are getting ready to switch over. No ETA has been provided to us though so for now, it's just gone.

Rumors have been floating around about new models being released but no word officially as of when or if the 9570 will be included in that. That's why I made sure to note that it also occurs when that screen availability turns into a delay bringing them in. This would affect Sager resellers only, the ones that rely on Sagers inventory and availability. since Sager is the one that removed the option and subsequently updated their resellers to also remove. I'll reiterate that it isn't the first time it's been removed, just have to wait for Sager to start offering it again and no ETA at this time.

So i can probably still get it with a dealer that deals directly with clevo :)
Can´t get sager at a decent price here in europe

According to Clevo only the WM3 comes with 120Hz but then again it is the 3D 570.

The Clevo builders availability is pending what they have on hand, not with what Sager has available. They build their own machines and so rely on their own inventory. Resellers have the actual production performed at Sager and are subject to their inventory.

The cooler I use (which is used as a stand really) is the note pal u2, nice and sturdy.

Chip clocks are more limited by silicon quality and voltage stability, the system has a lot of vdroop so frequencies are likely not going to be much if any higher than the hex cores. I am not temperature or TDP bound at 4.3ghz, 4.4ghz requires a silly boost in voltage due to the v droop which the vrms do not like.

As for the screen all sager machines come with the 120hz connector soldered so you could add it later. None 3d models from clevo do not have the connector soldered on.

I wondered about that. Someone had said that your laptop cooler was a NZXT. I found the NZXT and noticed it wasn't it. Now the Cooler Master CM Mobile Note Pal U2 is it. I should say WAS it. Looks like they stopped making them. Cooler Master has changed the engineering of it. There is one reseller in Glasgow but the shipping would be prohibitive.

yea, I find that 4.2 ghz is by far the best in temp/perf. after that any increase in multiplier, voltage required will skyrocket unless you have a rare handpicked chip. a friend of mine is able to do 5.5ghz on an IVYE with water cooling, his hand picked chip can stay under 65C with XTU for an hour..

does p570wm unlock bios allow BCLK change? I find that increase 100mhz from bclk doesnt require that much voltage but when it hits 200mhz+ and onward it uses a lot, even more than increasing multiplier at times. I have my m18xR2 set at 41x multiplier and to 4.2ghz with BCLK and has flex value of 0 with my crossfire GPU and runs totally fine no BSOD no crash.

I just got a Targus Demolition backpack today. It is for 17" laptops but there is no way that it will fit the NP9570 in the pocket designated for the laptop. Does anyone have a sturdy backpack suggestion? Having looked around my best guess would be an Alienware 18" backpack.

I use deuter giga flat 17, I like it more than my Asus shuttle backpack. P570 fits in both of them.
Giga Flat has not enough space for additional accessories. when I wanna travel, I use my Asus backpack, its huge :)

do you guys think haswell E will have on die VRM or not? haswell refresh and broadwell won't have VRM on cpu anymore but not sure if haswell E will be based off 1st gen haswell rather than the refresh.

I have left the tags on the Targus and will save final judgment until I get the laptop. The wait is really getting to me. I have also found the Notepal and should have it next week. It is funny to see how CoolerMaster has tried to "improve" the original design.
