I installed a used mainboard and got black screen dos looking stuff saying I screwed up. The BIOS of the mobo was a Prema mod, so I thought I should flash it to Sager. Sager support hooked me up quickly. Successful flash but still the dos fail screen.

Decide to switch back to my old mobo and got the same thing...which was extremely depressing.

After studying the boot menus, noticed this option to enable UEFI.

Enabled it and all returned to normal on old mobo.

Going to retry new “used” mobo again and apply the same bios option.

If that works and my 980m is still not functional, I will be looking for a cheap replacement in the marketplace.

Very interesting the UEFI vs BIOS and likewise GPT vs MBT!

Yes having your boot option correct is important as is looking up the error message. Reach out for help before ordering parts :)

    Well said.

To that end, may be looking for a replacement video card.

I do not need a gaming capable one like the 980m, just something low end.

    Advice?

I used GTX765M from Dell in my P375SM, it should works also in SM-A. It's probably the cheapest option.

Will the 180w/230w PSU P177xM adapters work with the 377SM-A if it is in a minimal config? (IE 4700/4800 + 1x 860m/870m)? Trying to lock down a smaller/lighter 180w/230w adapter for a P377SM-A which will only be at most with a 4700/4800/4900 + 1x 860m/870m. 330w is overkill and massive.

230W should be ok. 180w is at the border if you go with 870m (100w card).

180w with a 45w CPU that should run ok but will struggle if you push things.

that's a BGA cpu, soldered. The P377SM-A uses socketed cpu's with Socket 947 rPGA.
The 4980HQ is for BGA FCBGA1364 sockets. Forget testing it in this laptop

    Good Evening, Notebook Review Crew!

I have a Sager NP9377 (Digital Storm ~2014) and I just did a clean reinstall of W10, but cannot for the life of me get Bluetooth to connect to any device! I found a few hits online about the Qualcomm Atheros QCA61 x4 Bluetooth 4.1 driver(s) acting up after an upgrade from 8.1 > 10, and tbh, I can't remember when it did actually work, this beast of a rig has been my daughter's for years now, but she can't connect her Sony sbg-xb01 BT speaker to it whatsoever, and I figured a reimage would rectify the situation. Nope!

I did toggle all of the BT services to Automatic, and tried uninstalling, reinstalling, using the generic BT drivers instead of the Qualcomm variant, no joy. I didn't think the Realtek BT drivers would solve the issue, but tried them anyway. Wouldn't install - Intel HW is what I'm leaning towards. Wondering at this point if I need an 8.1 version? All of the drivers I tried today were fresh W10 copies from Sager's website here:

    https://www.sagernotebook.com/drivers.php?cat=596

Forgive me if this has already been addressed in a previous post. I did search the forums, but it's possible I could've missed it.

    Thanks!

Apologies, I should've clarified the Realtek driver part of my post more succinctly. I tried installing the Intel BT drivers, as that's what I remember installing previously. Just to be thorough, I did try to install the Realtek BT drivers, but they threw an error when I tried to install them. So now I know it does, and that's what's currently on there (Intel). Thank you for your prompt reply Sr!

You could replace the wifi card with a 7260AC mini-PCIe, should not be too expensive and will get past silly driver issues.

I was wondering what is the best wifi card I could install in my laptop? Never had any problems but it would be nice to have new BT capabilities and faster speeds would be a plus

The card I quoted is considered the best. Just be sure to get the 7260AC (there are none AC versions) on mini-pci-e (there are m.2 versions that wont fit).

Hello everyone, I've just recently acquired a P375SM, and I'm currently working on some upgrades, one being the screen. I've got the LVDS variant, and I've got two screens to upgrade it with - one being LP173WF2 (50 pin eDP) and LTN173HT02 (40 pin eDP). Given the fact that finding original cable is harder than finding a virgin at a maternity ward, I'm looking for solutions from other models; what CLEVOs had a similar connector and length? I've got my eyes on W550 cable for cheap, and there are some popping up in my country to acquire. Can anyone provide some info on which ones to look for? I'd be forever grateful, this is my beginning with CLEVO machines ;)

Is go for the 40 pin one since those cables are easy to find and NB50 series has them long enough to fit. Should work without any issues.

NB50 is a CLEVO model, I presume? What I'm finding with quick googling is the Toshiba cable, and it's a flat connector, like Alienware m17x R2, I need the bricky white plug... Could you possibly identify one for me so I know what to look for?
    EDIT:
Otherwise, what cable would be best fit to rewire it? I've got plenty LVDS and EDP cables in my stock from other machines, the missing ingredient would be the 30 pin white plug :/

Look on ebay. Your best bet is to buy from ebay. I was referring to this cable which should work:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ruidoswebc...-/284013327960?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
Yes the NB50 is a Clevo. That cable should be long enough and the seller offers to trade it if it doesnt work in the space of 30 days (if I'm not mistaken)

This is what I meant and what I need. I know W955 also uses the same plus, as does a few more laptops. The NB50 uses more common plug, granted, but the P375SM has it a bit different :/

Ok, it's been a while, and just to clarify, I was able to nudge my usual supplier and he got me the dedicated cable, so thanks for the help here :)

Another issue has emerged though, being the dual HDD caddy. What would be the part number for that, or which laptop can I scrap to get one that would fit P375SM? I was able to get the beast running, but I still need a few more components...

That could be really tricky as every machine came with one and it was not something that would normally break.

Hi, actually I posted before by accident. Sorry! :D

    Hey, Meaker!

I got a question also, maybe someone can help me:

I own an Eurocomm X7E, but having a hard time trying to make the touchpad drivers under windows 10 allow me to use multigestures (scroll using two fingers, tap two finger as shortcut to right click, etc).

The touchpad driver for win10 right from eurocomm's site is here:

    https://eurocom.com/ec/drivers(240)X7Extreme

    http://downloads.eurocom.com/support/drivers/systems/240/240_TouchPad_W1064.zip

But it just gives this for touchpad options (see attached image, please)

So, am I using so far the incorrect touchpad driver so far??

Please, someone can give me a light here?

    Thanks in advance! :)

Have you checked if windows precision loads? Also the older software may do better, you can check our page for the original set.

I can use the touchpad normally, except that I can't access multigestures.

Drags and left click tap works. Other gestures not.
