NVMe is not supported. It would be SATA for that and the 850 pro is pretty fast for that, there are a few options.

I have a stupid question.. when you install a new Nvidia driver, do you uninstall the previous version? Or do you just install the new one?

Watch out for the current (375.57) version. The NV forums have been down for over a day.

There was a LOT of reports of Win 10 messing up. The Mail app crashes and tiles on the start menu are vanishing. NV stated a hot fix would be released but typical of NV, they know of a serious problem but they leave the flaky version available until they have a fix.

375.63 has just come out, and they've removed the 375.57. I only just installed 375.57 today! Not noticed any issues with 375.57, but will read about it now, and probably install 375.63 now.

I'm following the p870dm3 thread and started to wonder if the new 120Hz QHD screen would work with this model? I have the LG 120Hz screen, so would it be just a simple screen change cos the EDP cable already exists?

I had a 1440p monitor a while ago and 980sli seemed to run games well at that resolution.

    Anyone smart enough? :D

Yup Meaker is correct, the cable has different pin counts compared to that on the QHD screen so not possible..

I recently upgraded to sli 980's (couldn't justify the price of a new laptop with dual 1080's). So anyways that leaves me with two 880's....anyone have any advice on best place to sell those? Ebay? Craigslist?

Hmm.. My first thought was ebay if you want to sell worldwide. I don't think craigslist has many potential buyers outside US. But I might be wrong!

How do you like your 980s? :)

Anybody know where I can got a stock bios for Sager Np9377? I flashed the P377SM-A_310_39_Stock bios from Prema site but it doesn't have the Sager bootup screen.

Because it doesn't allow me to run my laptop in battery.. And nVidia drivers will crash right away because the vBios won't downclock. Simple as that
That's why i asked if I could use that vBios because it's unlocked only and not locked to maximum power to avoid throttle (and thus not allowing me to run my laptop in battery only in case I need to)

Hello, so the HDD's in this laptop are 2.5-Inch by 9.5MM is this correct? 9.5mm is max thickness? If so, is 2TB still the largest HDD available for these laptops?

EDIT: And to be clear a 15mm won't fit in these right?

Another edit, is 1 TB still the max size SSD for these laptops?

Yes the 2TB 9.5mm drive is your best bet.. 15mm drives won't work.. There are 2TB SSDs but they worth more than each of your GPUs, totally overpriced...

OK, Thanks allot for the info!! Shame about the 2TB SSD cost :(

Edit.. yup.. waaaayyy too much, $669.99 each..

And they now have 4TB SSDs that will also fit.... for a whooping $1,466.81 each!!

Holy crap! But damn would it be nice to swap out my two 1TB for two 4TB, but even if I did have 3 grand to spend, it would not be on two new SSD's!

Hopefully they will come waaaaaayyy down in price in the future.

The top end certainly will but the cost scales with NAND size as the size/number of dies is the main cost of the drives.

Well in 2010, 128GB Crucial C300 SSD was $250... Today its like $50-75... It will take time for it to go down tbh..

Well the process or layering tech will need to jump again. As it hopefully should but yes this takes time.

For now a hybrid approach still makes a lot of sense.

    Hey all!

I just upgraded the bios /ec to 1.03.10/1.03.09 prema V2 and the keyboard back light is unresponsive. Even FN-* to turn off the light doesn't work and hotkey 3.10.23 has no effect.

I know downgrading the bios might brick the machine but what about downgrading the EC bios from 1.03.09 to 1.03.08, which used to work? IS there a chance of bricking it or will I get my keyboard back light back working again?

What about not downgrading but side-grading to the stock EC 1.03.09 ? Will the back light operation be restored?

    Thanks all.

IIRC you need to keep the EC and BIOS in lockstep with each other.

Is anyone else having issues with the bundled Soundblaster software on Windows 10? It seems like it worked for a very long time, but lately, all I get is a "Server Busy" error. I reinstalled Windows 10 and the audio driver included on the media that came with it, and it seemed like it was working again for a few days. Suddenly, I'm back to "Server Busy." If there's no way to get the software to work consistently, are there any other alternative softwares (free or inexpensive) that can similarly improve audio?

Hi, well that is windows complaining not the SB software. I checked my SB software (I never use it) and it's fine, I'd say that you need to track down just what is conflicting - it sounds like a windows update triggered it after you re-installed? If you end up re-installing again you can turn off windows update. This will only skip one update before it turns on again but it may help in identifying it. You can then un-install the update to test if it returns in a few weeks.

Do you recall installing anything that may have triggered it after the rebuild?

Check 'services' and see if you have a creative or sound blaster service running. Try killing that/them. Then look in task manager at processes. Again look for creative/SB entries and try killing them and then running the SB software. Also look in start-up for any SB stuff, it might be that an 'old' process is conflicting?

Have you ever been into the bios? Try defaulting that as well just to be sure it's not there.

    Good luck.
