It still happens after the fix is done however after another period of cold data being left.

The fix as linked by Shadow-Tek should fix previous issues.
850 EVO's have been release for 2.5" SSD but not mSATA yet. -
Personally I had never owned a SSD before so you can imagine how surprised I was when I first booted up my Laptop after it arrived... -
-

That's why it's the GT80 and not GT75 or something. It's a very large machine and quite a bit less portable than your P377sm for instance.

That's something you need to take up with intel
-
So if you don't get SSD's put in when you order then you have to order the brackets separately to install some yourself?... wow I think if your spending over 2-3 g's they should be included no matter what
-
You only need to buy a "bracket" if you are replacing your Optical Disk Drive (ODD) with a HDD or SSD, and then you'll need a "HDD Caddy". -
-
So if you don't buy the OS with it does that mean they still put an OS on it put drivers on it then test it for 72 hrs or whatever then the format it before they ship it out? I don't get them not coming with an OS...thanks
-
format drives
Install OS
run testing and benchmarks
uninstall/format hard drives again
ship
At least, this is what Mythlogic did. -
mm I wonder if they would install it do all the checks benchmarks etc but not activate it or register the windows then I could do that myself, if anyone from xotic or anyone else knows if they can do this please let me know thanks again
-
You would have to ask Sager if they will. -
"For those wondering how to change/replace the LCD cable in the P375/377sm-a I have already tried this. The P375/377sm-a has 2 video connectors on the mainboard. These are LVDS and EDP placed side by side on the top section of the mainboard.
Bad news is that it requires almost a complete strip down to remove the top cover of the notebook to access these. I counted past 30 screws to get to the part where I could remove the top cover, there are also 4/5 ribbons that need to be removed to be able to get to these video ports. Start by removing the keyboard, after that 2 more screws under the keyboard. Flip the machine over and undo the access panel and hard drive/battery bays. Basically you are removing all the screws that you can see, start with the ones near the edges of the notebook. After that check the battery bay/harddrive bay and near the gpus.
It's a long tedious process with lots of care needed especially when removing/reconnecting the ribbons to remove the top section.
After all the screen swapping I actually prefer the N173HGE-E11 panel for contrast/colors/response compared to the LP173WF4-SPF1. I expected better colors/contrast from the IPS but was disappointed, it only offered better viewing angles and ability to overclock to 100hz and hacked gsync support. I will continue to hunt down a SPD1 panel in the hopes it has better colors/contrast.
I'm also looking for the 120hz screen and 50 pin EDP cable. I have seen 2 options on the 120hz screeen, glare and matt. Which screen has better colors/contrast/gamut/viewing angles?"joluke likes this. -

Hello all, I recently picked up this laptop for a really good deal...I was looking for a upgrade/replacement for my Asus G74. I am new to owning Sager/Clevo, but I like it so far.....I don't like windows 8, don't like that you can't turn off the tail lights while keeping the keyboard lighting on, and the speakers don't have as much bass as the G74. Other than that, it's a total beast. Im gonna install win 7 on it soon.
-I know there will be some people that recommend I upgrade to 980's...but I'm either not going to or holding off on that for now....I'm content with the graphics performance for now.
-I've read that 880's suck, I've read raid 0 for ssd's sucks, or that it's awesome, I've read there's no difference between ssd performance and the 7200rpm traditionals, etc.
-I would very much like some hard scientific factual data if anyone has it.....
-I'm thinking about running two samsung evo 840's (500 gb) in raid 0, and having two additional samsung evo 830's (256gb) as storage.
Am I better off running the 830s in raid 0 versus the 840's?(I've heard a lot of people say that 840's are nothing but trouble)
I know the difference between raid 0 and raid 1.....I'm not a hardcore gamer...just looking to play the new witcher when it comes out... some dragon age inquisition, etc
Is there an advantage to just not running raid at all? and just having a completely 100% SSD system? I am confused because some people seem to think I'd be stupid not to run raid 0 for the performance boost, some people say run raid 1...(but Im not concerned about losing anything because I back everything up), and I guess in my mind having an extra 500gb of ssd storage is nice by not running raid 0.

You can raid both sets in their own arrays if you like. Performance depends on your activity. Straight line speeds for large files increases while small file speeds don't.
SSDs that are a reasonable size and modern (like yours) blare 3-4 times faster than a regular hdd with large files and 100s of times faster with small file speeds. -
880M is a huge mistake. Nothing but problems with those cards... Get the 970M and save the headaches for real.
I run my drives in RAID0 (I have M500s) and there's definitely a difference in performance when I run them without RAID but it's not unacceptable. Samsung drives are not something you'll ever hear me recommend. Also they're stupid expensive for storage purposes, I'd get at least one traditional 7200 RPM drive for storage and installation of most, if not all games.
Seriously though, ditch that 880M...
Oh and on the sound front, make sure you have the X-Fi software installed and running or you will not get any bass and your overall audio volume will be lower. It's a noticeable improvement but don't expect miracles. The sound system is not Clevo's strong suit.

Thanks for the feedback meaker and ethrem....I literally just tweaked the XFI settings....sounds way better...but still underwhelming bass for such a high end rig...
Ethrem...are you recommending just one 970? Or dual 980s? And 880s dont perform? Sli issues? Seemed like most of the numbers looked good..framerates etc -
970M if you're gonna overclock them to infinity
980M if you don't want to OC all that much
As for your original question about the tail lights, you should check out Prema's mod. As far as I remember, you can disable rear light without turning off keyboard with his BIOS mod, but I am not 100% sure. -
Prema's mod still is attached to the tail lights. I don't think there is a way to do it without disconnecting them. I've thought about gorilla tape for mine...

Has anyone actually tried to unplug them and if so how hard is it to do.? -

How easy is it to disconnect the tail lights? I've thought about popping the machine open to see if I could figure out how to go about it, but haven't built up the nerve to do so.

Thank for reply and link ethrem. Is the one in the link an actuall oem one or aftermarket.?
And do you think I should buy one now while there available or just wait until something happens to my system then order one. -

In the picture above is my laptop on with tail lights and keyboard lights on. I used flat black craft paint Wich matches the laptop color almost perfectly and is water based so comes of fairly easy if I need to take it off and there is no light bleed what so ever.

I think it looks way better with the tail lights blacked out. -
There are things I definitely don't like about it. I need to mod my case and get a laptop cooler for it. I definitely miss the build quality of my M17xR1.

I hope I ordered the right one. On the link you provided it asks you for the model number. The closest one to mine was p377sm-a so thats the one i chose. But on the bottom of my laptop it says p377sm without the a . Tried to google a couple times to find the difference but only p377sm-a kept coming up.

9377 is SM-A
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk -
It's because the SM and SM-A models are generally the same. The only difference really was the new GPUs and the fact that the machines POST plug & play with 900M series, which was never a thing for Clevo before.
I don't even know if the SM series does that.
