Will they even RMA a heatsink? o_o
I thought my temps were high since I got the machine but yeah, the air coming out should be hotter than the air coming out from a cooler GPU...
I'll just wait. I set the TDP to max at 67W for now and that gives me mostly 4GHz unless its being stressed too much which drops to 3.9GHz at that point. Its still really crazy fast and makes me feel better about getting an MX CPU.

Full 3DMark...
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M video card benchmark result - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4940MX CPU @ 3.10GHz,Notebook P377SM-A
Minimum multi was x39
Max temp was 89C on one core, 84C on the other three. Figures that second core is still bad.
That's the stock vbios. I don't mess with anything else so graphics is way lower than it should be. It was an average core of 757 through all the tests. -
lol my choice of words sometimes... too busy RMAing this and that to different vendors recently
I meant contact XoticPC about your observations, and ask if they'd be able to get you a replacement heatsink. -
I'll just wait for them to get back to me about getting rid of these cards. I've got the CPU set at 4.1GHz and for every day use its just fine. It's all about the TDP. I think nitpicking the CPU when it runs 3.5GHz stock and is now actually doing 4.1 at times with a minimum of 3.9 is pretty damn good to me. I don't do things like Prime on a daily basis after all and its unlikely a new heatsink would be much better.

It looks like my chip will do 4.2 @ stock volts with a -15mV offset.

Certain tests throttled in GeekBench and I was afraid to raise the TDP past 80W as one of them pushed the CPU to 91C on the hottest core.
I guess the chip really isn't that bad, I could probably do better if I mod my bottom cover for more airflow.
I'm going to set this to 67W for my daily driver. It won't get 4.2GHz under heavy duty apps but most games should benefit from it. Let's see how it goes.
Oh yeah, two A/C adapters is mandatory for this if that wasn't obvious -
The P377SM-A/Sager NP9377 is a unit that came out just this year, right? So basically this is a new unit.

I opted the copper cooling out as most of you advised me against it, and I decided to go with the Intel network card as some of you told me to stay away from the Killer cards.
What do you think about my ssd configuration? and is the 72% gamut screen upgrade really worth it? Thanks! -
Support.1@XOTIC PC Company Representative
I like the configuration, The only thing that I see as not overly necessary is the CPU, typically don't need anymore than the 4810 unless you have a specific program that's a CPU hog. As far as gaming the 4810 is plenty.
72% is definitely nice. Again not something crucial, especially for gaming, but you'll notice it when watching movies, looking at images, or just general usage browsing around the internet. -
Oh and what do you think about the network cards? -
Can't go wrong with the 4810 or 4910. I have my MX @ 4.2GHz just because, not because I have games that need it. Other than that, you did exactly what I would do if I were ordering now.
In fact my machine would be with a 4910 if I could do it over.

Hey guys, so I ended up ordering the np9377. However I really really want a 120hz screen to properly use my dual 980m. I will also make a thread but I just wanted to get your opinion. Well, I did some research:
Eurocom still offers 120hz screen for their version of np9377, called X7. The part number for it is listed as: LP173WF2 (eDP). I asked them if I can purchase it from them. If so, voila!
http://www.eurocom.com/ec/configure(1,240,0)ec
Also I checked laptop lcd sellers and found laptopscreen.com I am not sure but It seems pretty better than random sellers from China or Hong Kong, since it is US based and I will have a contact to sort out any problems. Also they offer 3 year warranty and guarantee that it is not an aftermarket item. Anyways they have the LP173WF2 on their website:
LP173WF2(TP)(A1) Replacement Laptop LCD Screen From $79.99 Brand-new screens.
It is A+ so it is not taken from a laptop or anything. And it is matte. Only thing is I am not exactly sure if it would fit my np9377. I have just sent them an email and waiting for a reply. Does anyone know?
Edit: Just found out they also have LP173WF2(TP)(B1) and (B2) too. This is getting more confusing now
Also I searched the website however could not find the n9377 under the sager list. There was np9370(?) however. Again it is new and matte. I still dont know if it fits a np9377 though.
Screen for Sager NP9370-3D. Replacement Laptop LCD Screens
Has anyone tried to replace their screen? I would really appreciate any help. Thanks! -

It needs a different cable and uses a different connector on the motherboard which may or may not be soldered onto your motherboard.

Let's hope that continues but as it's not an official feature I would always air on the side of caution.

It depends on when they said it, we just had a graphics revision which requires a new revision of machine. Sager could have changed their options from clevo. They may not have but it's best to check rather than assume.

It takes a fair amount of investigation if you don't have one open at hand. They are just agreeing with my point. To investigate it if you have the machine you will need to open it up and look for the connector on the motherboard which I believe is under the keyboard on this model (I don't have the manual to hand right now).

You can overclock the 60hz panel in this machine. If it can do 100hz like mine it might not be worth it anyway. A nice large external would still be good though.

A good shop can do it, I had one to a jack for me once which involved some over PCB solder work and they were good. It depends who it is.

Check HTWingnut's review of the SLI system. Battlefield 4 was the first game benchmark covered in the review.
I've got one of the systems on order finally (have been waiting years to say that!) and was curious how the headphone amp is for the system? I've read that a headset such as Sennheiser's need a decent amp/DAC to take advantage of them and I was wondering how the on-board amp would do if anyone knows? -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
It's ok but you may want to consider an external one for particularly high end devices.

Thanks for the responses. I'll look into an external amp/soundcard if I decide to get a headset like that. First I've got to justify having an additional nice headset for home use alongside the one I just bought that will be my LAN party one.
One of the people attending the LAN I'm going to next week just bought the headset I'd linked and a DAC so I'll see if I can do some tests on that and will make a decision after some testing. -

EDIT: In my opinion the less sound processing the better: disable any software Dolby Surround (or other) nonsense and just get it piped straight through in native stereo (unless you have physical multiple speakers in your head set). Sound processsing in my experience only ever introduces noise, keep it straight from the source without any nonsense inbetween! (There's no magic to be had). -

The best way to get pure audio is via the optical out.

Is this setup good? any suggestions w.r.t configs ? and since the laptop is around for a while.. any known issues with it? -
Just in case anyone is wondering, still waiting to hear about fixing my machine. Getting angry for real because these cards are too hot. Last word was that Sager hasn't released word about their availability and I'd get an email. That was like two weeks ago.

Build looks good, Only thing I'd really opt to switch personally is the SSD up to the 250gb range. Absolutely not crucial to do, I just fill up 120gb too fast. -
