Oh I am I'm installing everything now. I need to have Guild Wars 2 installed and I just bought Assasssins Creed 3. So I might be a bit. So far I like it ALOT!!!!
Now I need to talk with Xiotic to see if I can purchase an extra 7970M so I can crossfire this biotch!! -
I've never seen a PSU this big either. But its beautiful. The matte screen is my first and I'll never go to Glossy. The keyboard is Gorgeous! The keypad has a carbon fiber finish, but I'm using my Razor Orochi instead. I have my Samsung 830 waiting to be installed, but I'm getting everything ready first off.
*Edit*
MAN OH MAN, I'M LOVING THIS MACHINE!!!
**EDIT**
So the secondary fan is there, but no heatsink. I'll wait to hear back from Xiotic PC on here to see if I can order the secondary heatsink and 7970M. -
Well congrats Cuban!!! Hope you'll never change your mind =)
-
So far this thing us much better than the g73jh when I first got it. Have AC3 on it and waiting for ask the updates in guild wars 2.

cuban11182,
What kind of mousepad are you using with your Razer Orochi? The Razer Goliathus Omega S Control Edition is too rough - after a month the corners of the feet on my Orochi have lifted making the mouse unusable. Didn't have a problem with the Speed Edition or QcK Mini, but those are gone.
Glad you're liking your new beast. The aluminum surrounding the keyboard and power button is a really nice touch, wasn't expecting that from Clevo. -

I use the scarab mouse pad with my orochi. They actually make 2133mhz sodimms now but most laptoos cant run them at full speed.

Just a few benchmarks for fun.
I can post photos if requested.

hi guys..i would like to ask some questions. i'm planning to get the sager np9370 . my question is,if i get the sager np9370,am i able to change the laptop gpu at a later time?and what if the next generation processor is released?can i change its processor to the latest one? thanks in advance !
-
You will be able to change GPU later as long as the new GPU will fit in MXM 3.0b, but you may have some problems with heatsink, because most likely it will be different one.
As for the CPU, for what i have read so far, Haswell is going to have new sockets for desktop and mobile market, so this one is propably negative. -
Quick note for potential buyers:
The drive bay is under the left palm rest, and can hold two 2.5" HDD/SSDs, and both ports are capable of SATA 3 speeds.
I'd recommend using a 7mm drive in the secondary drive port. I tried a regular 9.5mm Seagate HDD and it physically stressed the port since it is around 1mm or 2mm too tall while sitting on top of the primary drive. Plus the drive bay cover cannot easily be installed since the 2nd HDD causes an obstruction. Not to mention that with the 9.5mm Seagate, the P370 vibrated too much.
So I'm using a Hitachi HTS545050A7E380 (7mm 500GB 5400RPM 8MB Cache). This Hitachi 7mm is quiet, with very little vibration. Crystal Disk Mark x64 5x1000MB Test: Seq Read:103.9; Seq Write:103.4; 512K Read:36.94; 512K Write:35.65; 4K Read:0.461; 4K Write:0.686; 4K Q32 Read:1.105; 4K Q32 Write:0.480.
Too bad no manufacturer currently makes a 7mm HDD above 500GB. -
considering to get this beast but i'm afraid with ambient temp here around 29-32 C will that be a problem if i get a SLI GTX680M configuration?

I'm looking to buy a P370EM and I'm reading this thread as well as the P170 owners thread. I found this post and want to know if this is the case with this model as well. Is there little to no base at all when you use headphones? I would be looking to keep the sound as the base configuration no upgrade there.
This is from the P170 owners thread:

There's unfortunately nothing you can do about that problem short of buying an external DAC.
I own a FiiO E10 USB DAC Headphone Amplifier and like it okay, but you can get the ASUS Sonar U3 for $40 or Creative's X-Fi Go! Pro for $20 if you're looking for something cheaper.
You obviously get what you pay for in terms of sound quality, but considering that a badly melted tin can with various pieces of electronics haphazardly soldered to it is very likely to produce better sound than what we got included in the laptop, I'd say that any external DAC is likely to give you a fairly decent result.
The choice of DAC largely depends on the impedance of your headphones and your willingness to spend extra cash fixing something that Clevo ought to have delivered on to begin with. -
and what do u suggest between CFX 7970M and SLI 680M from performance perspective view?
thanks -
Right now at Xotic you can get free WiFi card upgrades. Between the Intel 6235 ($30.00 Value) and the Bigfoot Killer 1202 ($50.00 Value) which is the better option?

I am trying to decide what GPU to go with either the AMD 7970 CFX or the Nvidia 680m SLI. I will mostly be playing mmorpg games. Thanks for any input!
-
but I have found the answer, if u have cash to burn then 680M SLI is the best u can get, but for the price performance side get the 7970M CFX . Maybe on the CFX side u will find some glitch or whatever it call, but if u patient maybe it will be solved by AMD engineer, whenever it takes -
I have the money to buy either one. Was just curious how much of a difference the AMD card is now with the most recent updated drivers. Just didn't know if spending the extra 500 is worth it performance wise.
-
Personally, if i had the money and dont really care about spending some more, i would go for 680M SLI. For me its good performance from beginning, not after five months of adjusting drivers, just better overall driver support. CUDA support. I think even longer lasting battery. But 680M is for gaming, while 7970M can do quite well in GPGPU. But that doesnt concern you too much, as you said you are going for MMO´s mostly.

BIOS (Setup: F2; Boot Options: F7):
I chose to disable Intel Rapid Start Technology. If you enable this after installing Windows, then Windows won't be found by the bootloader. This is for rapidly resuming from Hibernation and is unecessary if your System Drive is a SSD.
I left Intel Anti-Theft Technology enabled. This is like LoJack for notebooks, and it works. Subscription required. Ask your IT Security department.
I left TPM enabled. This is useful if you use Windows Bitlocker. It stores your encryption keys on the hardware TPM chip on the P370EM's motherboard.
Disabled Quiet Boot so instead of seeing the Reseller logo, I see POST results.
Changed Boot Order to System Drive 1st and disabled Optical Drive, Default was reversed.
Disabled Realtek Network Boot & Other Non-System Drives from Boot Order.

Windows 7 Optimization for SSDs (Not for HDDs):
Disabled hibernation by right-clicking on command prompt (cmd.exe), select 'run as administrator' (This is called an Elevated Command Prompt), then type the following: powercfg.exe /hibernate off
This will disable hibernation, delete the hiberfil.sys file in C:\Windows, and remove the Allow Hybrid Sleep and Hibernate After Power Options under Sleep.
*Then in Power Options, make sure hibernate is not an option, instead choose Sleep. Do this for ALL Power Profiles.
*You can double-check this when the laptop is on battery by using TreeSize Free to check if the hiberfil.sys is still in C:\Windows.
TreeSize Free - Quickly Scan Directory Sizes and Find Space Hogs
_______
Windows 7 should automatically set Disk Defragmenter and Superfetch Services Startup Type to Manual when it detects an SSD after some time.
If it hasn't disabled both Disk Defragmenter and Superfetch Services yet, set the Service Startup Type to Manual:
Administrative Tools>Services: Set Superfetch Service to Manual Startup Type for SSDs. (On HDDs, this will degrade performance significantly.)
Administrative Tools>Services: Set Disk Defragmenter Service to Manual Startup Type for SSDs. (On HDDs, this is not recommended.)
Or you can disable disk defrag in C: Properties, which will set the Service Startup Type to Manual.

How do I know if TRIM is working in Windows 7?
Go to the Command Prompt and type:
fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify
Answer:
DisableDeleteNotify = 1 (Windows TRIM commands are disabled)
DisableDeleteNotify = 0 (Windows TRIM commands are enabled)
You can also use Crystal Disk Info to check if TRIM is On.
Download Center - Crystal Dew World
_______
Computer>Local Disk C: Properties:
On General tab, Uncheck 'Allow files on this drive to have contents indexed in addition to file properties'.
On Hardware tab, select main disk (System Drive, usually C: ) and under Policies tab, select 'Enable write caching on the device', and DO NOT select 'Turn off Windows write-cache buffer flushing on the device' for Marvell-based SSDs (ie-Crucial M4, Intel 510, etc.). (NOTE: When upgrading the firmware for the Crucial M4 SSD, it will uncheck 'Turn off Windows write-cache buffer flushing on the device', if you have this checked.)
Control Panel>Indexing Options:
0 Items Indexed, make sure no items are selected, and rebuild the index.
It may be best to disable Windows Search (indexing) startup type, since setting it to manual startup type will enable it on reboot. You will still be able to search within Windows Explorer.
_______
In Control Panel>System>Advanced system settings>Advanced Tab>Performance Settings>System Protection Tab, Uncheck all disks, turn off System Protection and delete all restore points.

Anybody with a 3920XM in this NP9370/370EM I would love to see you CPU temperatures to compare with mine. I recently upgraded from a 3630QM and just want to see other's temps, idle temps and max temps kind of thing.
I'd really appreciate the info and it will do me a big service.
Thanks,
-A -
TimeLord84, had 3740QM overclocked to 4.1Ghz with TDP of 65W!!! using throttlestop bench never exceeded 90C. Room temp 25-27C, no extra cooling, no FN+1 - all stock even TIM) what are you getting?
Also, can anyone confirm the 7970M on this machine runs at 1.00v instead of 1.05v on other laptops? Tnx -

Oh, tnx) that's a little sad, cause it limits the OC potential of the GPU but provides a little cooler operation on the other hand. Hope somebody can make a right custom vbios for this thing to make it a real beast!
-
Well guys I see mid 90's when gaming. Sometimes only 92-94*C. On Intel XTU stress test I get 104 as the highest temperature. All stock, only OC is on graphics memory.
Sometimes I get 80's temps but I'm used to seeing around 92*C after gaming for an hour or two.
What thermal paste are you guys using? I got some Shin-Etsu G751, heard it was the best, on my CPU and then the ICD factory upgrade for the GPU's. -
wow, that's plenty for the CPU! if you don't want to get it degraded over time make sure you have 90C limit for the CPU or get a laptop stand like CM notepal U3. 90+ is possible for the short bench sessions
-
Guys with the i7-XM CPU:
Are you seeing an increase in FPS while gaming with XM vs regular QM?
Impressions of XM?
Thanks! -

To those who had the opportunity to compare the 3d screen with the non 3d screen on CLEVO P370 is there a big difference in quality in terms of viewing 2d movies, games & pictures?
-
I'm having really high temps between my gpu1 and gpu2 during game play. I have the 7970m in crossfire and the temp difference is usually 7 to 20 degrees celcious higher on gpu2. When I play skyrim or ac3 the temp on 1 is about 75 and 2 gets up to the 90's and I've seen it at 102 and it kept climbing. I also see really bad frame rate and games are glitchy on high quality. I have all the latest drivers and updates for the games. And I'm on the beta graphics driver for amd. I have it on a laptop cooler with two fans on. And I've even turned on the laptops fans full on and it don't cool down till I exit the game. I first noticed it on skyrim when the sky would start flickering bright colors. That's when I started watching my temps. Skyrim has no problem making my gpu2 get to 100 degrees on ultra settings. And when I start my computer and don't let it load everything up right away and open up Firefox it bsod every time. So do I have a bad gpu? Or should I put different thermal paste on it and see what happens. This is on windows 7 ultimate 64.
-
Hi guys!
I need some opinions from you!
I've been thinking on a P150em, however i think that 17'' screen won't be that bad at all, as I won't be travelling much.
If you could get p150em, p170em or p370em, for SAME price (let's say 1450€, with only one graphics card, with the folowing specs:
i7-3630
7970m
ssd samsung 830 128gb
momentus xt 500gb
8gb ram
Which model would you chose and why that over the others?
Personally i'm thinking to go with the 370em -
I had quite similar decision to make. Since p170em and p370em cost nearly same, i took p170em out, because p370em is just better.
So, then there were only two choices p150em or p370em. Taking p150em would save me around $500. But i already have 15 inch laptop, so i wanted to try something else, plus i can run two harddrives in raid, while keeping optical drive in, i have opportunity to add 2nd graphics card later and bigger screen.
So i took p370em and i would do it again. -
Nice!
could you just tell me briefly what is your feedback about the 370 so far?
are the temps to high when gaming for 2 or more hours? is it too noisy?
any complaint you think is worth mentioning?
Driver issues?
BSOD?
cheers mate! -
I have it only like for a day, so not much experience yet. But i had no BSOD or driver issue so far. From games i just tried Skyrim, and its running just fine, everthing maxed, average 45-55fps, i see no large drops in fps. Im using latest beta driver. I have sort of full schedule right now, so i dont have much time to play with lappy, i still need to install some more stuff. Screen is quite spectacular, keeping in mind that its laptop screen. I cant complain about noise, im used to it from my old laptop, so i dont see much difference yet, atleast not for worse.
Well temperatures, i didnt check it to much yet, but i have seen around 85 on CPU and GPU after 3/4 hour of Skyrim, at least i thinkIm assuming, that temperatures should be getting to 85 top, since i have only one GPU. And im definitely applying new thermal paste later in week. Other than that, laptop case didnt get quite as hot as i expected.
Only complain i have right now is that arrows on keyboard are sort of hidden in whole keyboard and they are partly in num block and partly in the rest of keybord. Keeping in mind, that its 17´3" and also quite gaming laptop. Clevo just used keyboard from p150em, they should create new one. Than i would be most happy -
right! so it's pretty new!!
congrats on your machine!
i thought u had it for some time now
about the 7970 drivers, i may think be wrong, but i thought the new (beta) drivers were to fix the enduro issues, but as the 370 doesn't support enduro i thought "we" should go with the clevo drivers.
out of curiosity what OS are you using? -
W7 64bit Ultimate.
I think there is 12.11 Enduro driver AMD CATALYST
but i downloaded 12.11 beta8 AMD Catalyst -
yheaa...
just finished reading the post 7970m Logging Thread, Games with Utilization Issues (Only post logs, NO questions please).... there are still some issues arround the graphics card... that makes me sad... -
I'm sure some don't have issues with the 7970 but from all I've read the clear choice is the 680m.
-
to go for the 680m would cost 300€ more! way out of budget.
all these issues make me step back, however i'm trusting that final fix shall come soon...
i'm not even sure but i think that these issues don't occur in all games right?
i would be playing Football manager, League of legends, and some FPS (BF3 or the recent CoD). Mainly it would be this, of course i would also like to try others
