Finally the 120Hz screen! Great news!
-
Does the screen support lightboost and are there 3d vision 2 glasses included if selected?
-
Not sure about lightboost, but here what is said at sagernotebook.com
"17.3" 120Hz 3D-Ready Full HD Display featuring 72% NTSC Color Gamut in Matte Finished screen (1920 x 1080) with 2 pair NVIDIA 3D Glasses" -

Yes, it supports nVIDIA 3D Vision 2 with 3D LightBoost, and you can get the 120MHz screen with or without the emitter and glasses...you choose. Just take a look at the Customizer on any Sager reseller's website.

Gen1 & Gen2 glasses support = YES
Lightboost panel support = NO
Lightboost Technology is a panel feature.
Only the same good old P170HM3 v1 LG panel works in 3D mode with the 01 shipping BIOS atm... -
Hi everyone.
I'm new on this forum and hoping to get some opinions about my purchase.
I was considering getting the xfire 7970 but googling a little bit about it, i found a lot of posts about complaints not on its performance but on bugs.
That's why I ask you guys opinions. Should I get a single GTX680m or the Xfire 7970?
Thanks in advance. -
haha..
u r indeed in the same situation with me..
i have checked the internet everyday regarding 7970M crosfire..
but i have heard that NP 9370 does not support enduro = therefore there is no driver and utilization issue..
however, i am only 95% sure about that..
what bugs r u talking about?
can u give me the link?
i am also planning to get crossfire 7970M..
i have been asking some pros out there, they said that 7970M crossfire is better than 680M.. -

For gaming the 7970M in CF is the best option for the NP9370. As mentioned Enduro isnt in this model so there wont be utilization issues. The performance of this set up will be about the same as 2x 680M but the price will be much lower. Both those card set ups will be similar in performance with a give and take depending on the game but wont be anything noticable in actual game play.
-
Anyway, the problems people are complaining about are flickering, shadows, some colors, random lines in the middle of the game... this guy said that the house roofs in Skyrim would occasionally disappear and come a while later.
I've also read about this not supporting enduro thing, which should "fix" the problem. The guys from Xoticpc also answered my e-mails telling me about this. I really appreciate the answers but I was still hoping to find someone who actually bought this pc with this gpus and give me a little overview on it.
Regards -
same here..
u r indeed in the same situation with me..
lets just hope someone who has this pc of NP9370 can give us some reviews on the crossfire 7970M..
by the way, its nice to find someone that has the same situation as me..
nice to know u.
=) -
The thing is Sager has this Autumn sales that ends today, $100 off. So I really wanted to decide that asap.
I think I'll probably stick with the 7970 even though the drivers apparently suck. -
-
can anyone share the 7970M CF 3D Mark (11 and Vantage) runs with the latest 12.11 beta 4 drivers from AMD? Both stock and overclocked (if possible).. i'll really appreciate it! tnx

kaitmond, u hav the crossfire 7970M in your NP 9370M rite?
how long have u own your laptop already?
do u hv any issues since u buy it?
i just wanna triple check with u that, the NP 9370 really does not support enduro rite?
do it have any gpu under utilization issue?
kaltmond, i am waiting for ur reply..
thanks.. -
Awesome benchmarks!
As I said, performance is not something I'm concerned about. I'm worried about gaming bugs, flickerings etc.
I'd really appreciate if you could us your feedback on your experience so far with the laptop. -
yea, if better, a full review of your crossfire with NP 9370..
any flickerings or bugs or any issues regarding ur laptop?
or is there any other information that u can give us?
thanks very much..
i really appreciate it.. -
kaltmond, didn't you try OC the beast? CPU using Intel XTU (pretty simple) and MSI Afterburner for the GPU's!

EDIT: This issue has been resolved and was a matter of miscommunication. Therefore, in order to prevent any unnecessary concerns from future viewers, I have edited this post.
However, if you're planning on buying the Dead Pixel Coverage, please be aware that if you do get a dead pixel under this coverage, you will have to send your laptop in to get the screen replaced (rather than have a new laptop sent to you). Some of you may not think this is worth $60, since it will be an inconvenience either way, but that decision is up to you. -

Hey Aaron360,
Justin replied to your other post directly but I can summarize here.
Sounds like there was just some confusion in verbiage. I've located the emails regarding your case and thought I'd try to explain a little more succinctly. As the DPP states, Sager will take care of the scree replacement as the screen is seen as DOA, not the machine itself. By "we'll take care of it" Cedric only meant that we would set all this up for you and provide the shipping label to get that sent to Sager via UPS 3 Day service. The screen is indeed Sagers and they would definitely be taking care of the replacement. I can see where the policy wording can be seen the way you saw it, but I can assure you that's not the case. Our dead pixel policy is the same as any Sager resellers and we are in no way trying to be misleading, I sincerely apologize you see it that way. I've brought your post to Cedric's attention and if you want to call me directly tomorrow when you have a chance, I'd be more than happy to help you out myself or get you on over to Cedric to have him explain in more detail. You can also reference Justin's post as well HERE. -
Hmmm... looks like xotic has added a 3-d 72% color gamut matte screen option. Anyone know if the 3d would have any issues with SLI? Or how much the FPS would be affected by having the 3d on?

Just to bring some closure to my earlier post on this thread, I'm pasting my response (which I made on another thread) below:
"Units ordered under this option will also require an extra 3 to 5 days lead time from order to ship. Any units purchased with the pixel guarantee option that are received with ANY dead pixels will be treated by Sager as a DOA unit, and Sager will cover 3 day shipping both ways and replace the unit."
If "unit" means "screen," then it appears that we're just ordering screens when we buy laptops, and we're shipping screens back and forth. If "unit" means laptop and they'll just treat it as DOA for the purposes of shipping but will ship it back, then why do they say they'll "replace the unit"? If "unit" means screen or laptop (depending on their interpretation of the context), then the way their policy is worded is completely ambiguous and could easily be considered somewhat deceptive. And if the standard policy is just to replace the screen (as you say), why would it even be allowed for me to order a brand new machine as a replacement? Why don't they just say replacing with a brand new machine is not allowed? I would understand replacing a laptop for a screen alone should never be considered an entitlement (unless it's what the policy said)... though computer manufacturers don't just destroy the other parts, they get repackaged in refurbished machines and sold for a profit (the money gained from the coverage of the 99 machines that didn't have a dead pixel more than makes up the refurbished discount).
Sorry, I just have to conclude that this wording is just very ambiguous, but I'll admit that it's a possibility that it's more Sager at fault than Xoticpc. Either way, I don't know how anyone can not think this is confusing.
In the end, if what you're saying is true, then I apologize about the misunderstanding (but I hope you see from my explanation in this post why I don't believe I was jumping to conclusions out of thin air). And I would like to just proceed with a RMA refund at this point... it's also a bit worrying how this unit was supposedly checked by Sager for dead pixels, and how they could've missed where mine is located at (right below the user name on the start menu... again, that would not be Xoticpc's fault). -
Awesome! I have been debating with myself over which to get, the np9370, or the m18x r2. Both are exelent machines and although the m18x has a beast aluminum chassis, the ability to have 3d and matte may just tip the balance in the sagers favor (along with the several hundred dollars in savings).
People with the m17x r4 with the 680m have reported that they still get decent frame rates in games at high setting with the 3d on, so I imagine sli 680's would be able to make short work out of most games in 3d, even at max settings.
Will you be able to turn the 3d off for better framrates if you want? -

Yes you can turn on/off the 3D effect. -

What are the pros and cons of the 120hz 72% Matte vs the regular 72% Matte, if you take the 3D option out of the picture. If you're just comparing the regular 72% Mattes.
From Mythlogic's configurator, the 120hz panel is:
Manufacturer: LG
Model Number: LP173WF2
Not sure on the regular 72% Matte panel.
Curious about performance, look, power usage, etc. -

Unfortunately there isnt a good page i know of that shows 670M in SLI, If the game supports it you get anywhere from 50-90% increase in performance and you can see what a single 670M does here NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M - Notebookcheck.com Technik/FAQ -
I'd take a single AMD 7970m over a SLI setup with 670m's. But thats just me.
Enjoy your new laptop!
And prepare yourself to clean it in a few months. By "prepare" I mean literally - prepare for it. It will be long and hard work to clean all those heat pipes and fans. -
Benchmarks with 670MX and 675MX

I was going to buy MSI GX60, but decided to go big. Will have to save up bit more and get this baby sometime end of the month
-
If you guys had to pick between a 675mx sli vs a single 680m for this laptop which would you go with? Not seeing many SLi benchmarks for this particular setup.

I have a question for anyone with a P370EM from Mythlogic, which bios are they using, Sager's or Clevo's? I'm looking to pick one up with dual 680M's, 3D lcd and Nvidia 3D glasses. Still debating if it's worthwhile to spring for the 3940XM or higher. I already have a P150EM with the 3920XM and it's wet my pallet for a larger, beefier gaming rig.
-
We actually maintain our own BIOS / EC set, so the answer is no, we use our own. Personally if you are just going to GAME on this thing then a 3840QM will do you just as well.. If you're going to overclock, well then you know what you need hehe.
-
Is the P370EM non-3D model "3D Capable?" Basically does the Hdmi port or Display port send 3D in full 1080p HD to external 3D-Ready LCDs? Thanks.
-
I just ordered mine from Xotic. I have a G73JH with a 920XM and I tried to do the 7970M, but I believe I fried the board. Anyway, I'm happy to be coming over to Sager. I've read lots of great things and I'm still currently reading this thread. I ordered the base 3630QM, the single 7970M (but I'll add the second one eventually), matte screen and 8gigs of 1600 RAM.
I also have my heatsinks that came with the 7970M that I purchased. I guess if I wanted I could always use them on the unit.
I'm looking forward to learning alot!
*Edit* I just read the entire thread and I'm pretty excited!!
**EDIT** Is there any difference between these two cards? Should they both work as a secondary card for the 7970M? If they won't what are the differences?

Sounds good. Guess I may have to see if I can find the heatsinks for it.
Just spoke with Derek this morning. He said he believes that both the fan and the heatsinks should come with the laptop. I also called in and added an msata and a killer wifi card.
