Thanks you for the input about the ram and the speakers. to be hones acceptable/decent was all i wanted to hear. 1333mhz ram will do for me. The cheaper I can get the 9130, the better it will be for me.

If you decide you want 1600mhz ram in the future you can always upgrade it later

From what I have read the new BIOS update (1.00.05) allows the computer to use the 7970 and 680. However, you are gong to need to upgrade your PSU to a 180W model if you want to run a more powerful graphics card. Earlier in the thread Mythologic confirmed they upgraded the GPU in the machine and it was working. However, I don't think any members in this thread have upgraded theirs, but I could be mistaken.

Btw to anyone interested I purchased Skyrim last night and had a chance to play. With everything maxed out except AA which I set at 4x and Shadow Detail which I set at high I am averaging 30FPS without any overclocking.

Sure. I just need to send my notebook and they'll change the SPU and the GPU i want..in this case a 7970M =)

Edit: The cost of the upgrade will be U$460,00. I think it's a good price after all.

That is indeed excellent news. You will be the first person on these boards that actually has an upgraded GPU if I am not mistaken (besides Mythologic but I'm not counting them).

My reseller said the p150's PSU fits on p151 models..the plugin is the same..so its possible to change the power supply and then a more powerful GPU.

That's amazing news! I wonder if XoticPC will allow that kind of upgrade down the road since I figure they don't technically support that modification.

Hey all, I finally received my NP9130 yesterday! Only problem is there's a dead pixel :( Already contacted my reseller, and due to the fact that I didn't order the dead pixel warranty, there isn't much I can do. I also found another weird issue with the screen showing vertical lines, but the reseller has to get back to me on whether or not it is covered under warranty. I'm considering just buying a screen and replacing it myself. I called Sager and they said they will NOT ship me a screen without a laptop, and they also wont even tell me what the screen model is.

So, after some digging, I found this: Clevo P150HM replacement Laptop LCD Screen $74.99 Brand-new screens (never used).

It's made for the P150HM...but considering the P150EM and P151EM use the same screens and the P150EM and P150HM use the same chassis, I think it should work? I want to give it a shot because I cant find any screens specifically made for the P151EM. What do you all think?

I fell in love with it, and now I don't want to send it back.

I found the model number of the actual AUO screen used in the 9130 and 9150, and ordered the matte 95% gamut version. $125 with a no dead pixel warranty from an online retailer. Actually ended up being cheaper than the $60 warranty and $95 screen would have been initially if I had ordered the notebook that way.

How does anyone feel about the extended warranty? I just placed an order and was wondering if I should go for two or three years, it does put the cost a bit higher but I will need to keep the computer for 3 years or maybe four.

What was the upgrade cost for just the 180w power supply on this?

Are the power bricks for these really just 120 watts? Seems quite inadequate given the 670M is a pretty power hungry GPU.

I plan on upgrading my psu to the p150s psu since i plan on getting the 680 later on. Does someone have a picture of both psus side by side? Any idea how much the upgrade to the p150s psu from the p151s psu?or is it free, and i just have to request for it?

hey guys talked to a person from xoticpc and learned this"it is incorrect that you can change the GPU to a 7970M or 680M. The motherboard will not handle any video cards that are a 100w tdp, the components on the motherboard have different tolerances and they NP9130 is desgined for a 75w TDP. If you'd like to get the larger AC Adapter anyway we can do that for +$30. "

Basically even with the BIOS & EC 05 enable GTX680M & 7970M to support this notebook it wont work. Dont know how true though. Hoping for your guys comment on this matter. if its not possible i will not be getting the 100w psu upgrade for 30$ since it will be useless.

That's been the official line from Sager for quite a while - I remember hearing it at least a month back. It basically boils down to saying that, despite it being possible, doing so would have the potential to damage the motherboard, so it's not recommended (or, rather, it's not possible because doing so will damage the motherboard so don't do it). Of course, they would say that even if it's not true, both because this stops them from having to support any issues that result, and because otherwise people who were going to buy a P150EM for the powerful GPU might instead get a P151EM and then upgrade the GPU themselves to save money.

Hey again everyone. I got my new screen installed in my NP9130. For those wondering, it's an AUOptronics B156HW01 v.4. It's a 1920x1080 WLED Matte 95% Gamut screen. The screen I had in the 9130 originally was the stock matte 60% gamut screen made by LG.

Installing the screen was very easy. The glossy bezel has 4 screws to remove, and then the bezel can be popped off. Under that, the screen is attached to the lid by 6 screws, and the screen rails are attached to the screen itself by another 6 screws. The whole process of removing the first screen and installing the second took only about 15 minutes.

As I said before, I purchased the screen for $100 + $25 for a Dead Pixel Guarantee. That's $125 total as opposed to the $155 most resellers ask for the 95% gamut screen + dead pixel warranty.

I thought the stock matte screen on the 9130 was the B156HW01 v.1...

Hey guys I need your opinion on the matter, I was asking xotic pc if they can check for dead pixels before sending in the laptop just so i have an idea that it was mailed to me intact/without defects. a picture of it turned on will suffice but they said"I'm sorry but Sager will not inspect the screen for dead pixels unless the 0 dead pixel policy is selected. I know being international its very important to you, but if they did inspect screens there wouldn’t be a point for the 0 dead pixel guarntee. If there are more then 5 dead pixels which is the standard dead pixel policy they will get a new screen" My point it how do we know that it is sent to us intact or without deadpixels?i am not implying that they send laptops even though they spot defects like dead pixels. I am just a customer trying get value for my money and since the 60$ dead pixel warranty wont be handy to me since i will be sending it to my uncle over the us who does not know much about a computer so basically i will be the one who will check the thing out when it arrives here in the philippines so if i spot a dead pixel mailing it back to the us will cost me more than 100$ and if that is the case i think it is better if i have it repaired here in a local shop. anyway what do you think i should do? should i find a reseller who can actually do my request for me, or do you think what they are doing is fair? IMHO i think they should make a kind consideration for me since i dont live in the US and they should somehow be thankful that i chose to do business with them, the reseller(xoticpc) over any other company.

Since my order was delayed because they did not want to accept my local card, Iwill be giving them my dads us card later so i still have the option to opt out of my order. sorry for the long post i am just really pissed on this matter since i had no problems whatsoever(did not have to get a dead pixel warranty) when i purchased this overpriced laptop of mine(macbookunibody without the pro)

I have dota2 and it runs very smoothly on my laptop; so there may be another conflict. although i do run dota in windowed (border-less) mode because i have a 95% gamut, tell him to try running in windowed (border-less)

The v.4 looks better. Its color reproduction is incredible. The wider gamut is very noticeable if you take the time to look for the subtle changes in images. Less distinct shades are now more pronounced. It's easier to see a difference between dark black and light black, for example. Simply, the display can produce "more" colors.

You are correct, the stock display is the v.0 or v.1.

I did not receive an Nvidia sticker. I received an HDMI, Intel, and THX sticker.

No chance..still around 23~29 FPS..never higher than this. All video settings maxed out...

You're playing in 1920x1080 and all graphic options enabled?

Can you tell me your driver version? I recently upgraded my driver to 304.79 BETA...maybe that's the problem..

Im working now..when i get home i'll downgrade it.

I tried to play 1080 with everythin on low settings, got around 40 fps...i'm sure there is a problem..

Not even Crysis 2/BF3 on extreme/high settings get fps lower then 30.

jamesman32 would you still go with purchasing your own screen or if you were to make a new order would you get the 95% Gamut from your reseller? for the price of the screen, shipping and dead pixel guarentee it seems like a good option. I also like what you were saying with the blacks. Playing a more detail oriented game would definitely see the benefit there. anyway I just placed an order so maybe an upgrade or maybe I will get one for a second/backup because in your review of it you seem pretty impressed with the difference.
