IN LOVE! Repasted with MX2 and installed my 1103. Getting windows 7 ultimate up and running. I will probably do a short video review (love videos) to show the machine off.

Going to use stock ati drivers for now, no oc, then when stable drivers are out will oc.

build quality is much, much, better than I expected

I fifth this. I tried installing windows then installing chipset and Intel HD 4000 drivers, and rebooted between them and all that and it worked fine. Then when I installed 7970drivers from AMD and rebooted the system bsods .... I tried multiple times, doing things in diff. Orders, updating windows then doing updates, all kinds of crap for the past 12 hours and barely slept. I can't get the amd drivers to work but everything else runs fine . I got Diablo three to run fine but trying battlefield didn't work it bsod .... do I do.

I guess I could give a real quick rundown of what I did on both my P150ems...

1.) Repasted both CPU and GPU with MX-2.

    2.) Swapped stock HDD for 512gb M4

3.) Booted into BIOS to confirm that SATA was in AHCI mode, and set DVD to default boot device

4.) Installed windows 7 Pro...BTW, this was the fastest I've ever installed W7.

5.) Windows Boots first time--Inserted the Driver disc and let it autorun. I then began at the top and worked my way down with installs....Starting with Intel Chipset drivers, then restarting when prompted. After the first restart, I moved to intel / AMD video drivers...completed with nothing abnormal happening, and restarted windows again. QUICK NOTE: After installing the video drivers and restarting into windows again, a command prompt box came up and did a bunch of stuff for about 3-5 minutes. Looked AMD related. After it finished, It restarted again, this time normally and coming up to the desktop.

6.) I finished installing all the other drivers on the disc, one by one in order, and restarting when it asked too. After I installed all relevant drivers on the disc one by one, I installed the Killer Wireless driver for my network card.

7.) After all drivers are installed, I connected to the internet for the first time, and let windows download a TON of updates. My copy of windows 7 is too old to have SP1, or anything else so this took well over an hour to complete.

8.) After windows updates, I installed the powerDVD software that came with my Blu-Ray player. Also, after updates, I ran the Windows experience Index for kicks and giggles. Also confirmed a few settings particular to the SSD. (Made sure defrag was turned off, confirmed SATA 6Gb/s status in the intel toolbox)

9.) Downloaded steam + Origin and downloaded all my games

10.) Downloaded Logitech software for my G700 Mouse, set up settings and macros the way I like them, and played some Battlefield 3

It really was pretty straight forward. If you have questions ask away.

    @alaskajoel
Did you also happen to put a restoration state (is that what it's called?) before each restart in case something went wrong? Did you also get the AMD and Intel Chipset drivers from the internet or the CD? Did you end up updating those drivers later or is it automatic updating, or were the stock drivers fine?

Also, when you first got the laptop, did you just take the plastic off, and turn it on? did it take a while, to charge or anything?
    Thanks for the info!
    Really appreciate it. :)

    So just a quick observation:

On my driver disc, I don't have specific drivers for the HD4000. I only have one button that says: Intel / AMD Graphics Driver. After these are installed i've experimented with the 12.7 beta drivers, but only install the display driver and not the 'complete' install. FWIW, I moved back to the stock drivers (8.951) because the 12.7 would throw a BSOD every once in a while.

I never added restore states manually...when Installing some of the drivers though (like the chipset and video drivers) it looks like windows made a restore point for me. Just looked because you asked--I never used them.

All the drivers I've used came right from the disc. As I mentioned earlier, I experimented with some of the beta AMD drivers, but I wasn't impressed with the reliability over stock. Aside from the GPU, all other drivers are still stock versions from the disc.

And when I got it, the the battery was already charged, and I just plugged it in and turned it on. One of the P150ems still has the plastic on it because it's going to be a gift for a friend and I'm trying to keep the 'new car smell' so to say. :)

Also, when I used windows update, It listed a few device drivers, but I stayed away from them. I never install drivers over windows update. If it mentions device drivers on windows update I may go to the manufacturer's website to check out the update myself, but I never install from windows update.

I'm also curious as to what others are getting for battery life....best I've been able to manage is about 4 hours with low brightness surfing the web and I'm pretty sure I could get a little bit more if I adjusted a few more things (like wifi power settings, etc)

you can't install HD 4000 driver first AFAIK. you must install HD4000 and 7970M drivers together by using the drivers CD from clevo/sager

when i tried to install 12.7 driver on top of stock driver, i got BSOD and the system automatically restore and then i able to install 12.7 driver. what make me worried is the driver will be conflict with old driver and format window is the only solution :/

Once I get my machine I'm going to install a small (32-64gb-ish) msata to compliment the 7200rpm hard drive. Would I get better results out of it if I used it as a caching drive or as the os drive?

Ordered 6/16 (see sig). Today, I was notified of a credit card typo on my part. With the correction, I'm now in Phase 2 with "an expected 9-16 day time period for the production phase" according to Alison. Give or take 10 days seems to be common based on what others are reporting here. Hopefully Sager continues rapid production, assuming they brought more people in to fulfill back orders, although the stripped screws seem to be a side effect. Here's hoping for 0 dead or stuck pixels!

Has anybody bought a cooling pad for this beast yet? I am expecting mine on friday and wanna get a great cooler for it to keep it cooler just for safety and lower temps. Any suggestions? I have been looking at the notepal line of coolers from coolermaster, specifically x3 and u3 but any suggestions are awesome!

I have the Notepal U3 and it is big enough and has 2 fans built in that you can move around I put them on top of the CPU and GPU :p

It's solid steel and very adjustable and adds 3 USB ports, it's nice I got it for $30.

    @JaBr1884
    Thanks for the info!
Hopefully my order wont take the full 15 business days.
Unfortunately if it takes the minimal 9 business days and 3 day shipping, the earliest I may see my laptop is the 6 of July :(
Here's to hoping for faster orders!

On another note, on the 21 of June, XoticPC added something similar to this (SO#123456 DA) to my order. (i changed the number and letters) Does anyone know if that has any significance? Thanks in advance!

Did almost the exact same thing.
    Repasted with MX-2.
    Installed 1103 wireless card.
Changed SSD to boot IDE mode.
    Installed Ultimate.
Installed all the first set of drivers (non-optional ones).
Then installed webcam, fingerprint, THX drivers.
    Installed bigfoot driver.
    Ran windows update.
    Then personalized it :)

    tbh if i were u i will swap the 680m for the 7979m and used the saved $300 for 2x 512gb m4 :) u will lose 1tb in memory though :/

btw i would choose the 3720qm, 3612qm trades a few mins of battery life for lower specs and its more expensive :/

I hope that its not . I've spoken to Eurocom [my reseller] and they are ready to RMA it for me if I would like as I've shown them the multiple [about a dozen + ] BSODs I've had along with other errors, I've had to reinstall windows at least 10 times. Reinstall the drivers trying different ones etc. Doing things in different orders. Tons of things.

I don't want to have to wait 10 + days to get this sent from here [California] all the way to Canada, and then fixed for a few days probably, and then sent back...

Unless they are willing to pay for me to have 2 day shipping or express at least. But they said they will only pay for Ground, even though they apparently sent me a machine with something wrong with it.

I've been waiting since May 1 when I pre ordered this and even months before that with no gaming/design computer and it's awful to have the beast show up and now work no matter what I do to try and make it work -_-

Does anyone have a complete list of what comes in the box? Or like an unboxing video would be really nice. Thanks!
