Should be a small pin hole on the face of the drive for a manual eject . take a paperclip and push it in there . if you mean removing the whole drive from the machine theres usually just one screw holding the drive down to the chasis and it will slide right out.

That's exactly what you should do. You should also check the remaining screws to see if any are coming loose - after a while the screws can work themselves loose and fall out.

    Congrats wijnoost.
    One question though,
How come you went with T9600+ 9600M GT?
Might've wanted to go for P9500+9800M GTS.

    Thanks semigamer,
I wanted to get as much speed and power as possible, grafics are not that important to me. I'll be using it as a daw, with a fireface 800 and a pair of focusrite octopre LE's connected to it.

why don't you go with 2GB of RAM and a 'slower' HDD and try to get the 9800M GTS instead of the 9600M GT?

    Hey Arom,
The notebook is will be my mobile Digital Audio Workstation(sorry, I don't game :D ), along with the RME fireface(external audio card) and the focusrite's(mike preamps). RAM and a fast HDD are more important to me then the grafics; the 9600m GT will do the job for me.

BTW, is anybody using an 860TU this way, for recording audio(24 tracks at once) ??

Oh I see, congrats on your new audio station than I should say :D
I've never done audio work but if you look at the specs of studio type laptops they're the same, if not less specs than yours so I don't see why it wouldn't perform greatly.
But don't hold me against that since I've never used any laptop for recording, fireface, etc.

All of the major components (cpu, hdd, gfx card, motherboard (acpi zone/tz0)) have temperature sensors built in, rmclock/whatever program simply reads these sensors.

Those CPU & GPU temps are excellent, but the HDD seems a bit hot at mid 60s

Now how is it possible that I'm running Crysis Warhead on 1920x1200 on 24inch monitor everything on enthusiast (except post processing and shaders) and I get a really decent fps, (a little laggy but still) if I overclocked CPU(p8600 :( ] and GPU just a little it would be awesome! :) **** ! Keep in mind I'm runing XP and find it way better to game on :) I wouldn't be dreaming on such results on Vista. /also Fallout 3 on High I get awesome FPS . I wanna overclock :)))

Thanks semigamer! I thought it would be yesterday. My local reseller ordered a barebone 2 weeks ago so I could see it, mainly because the firewire connection is near the touchpad and I'll be using that connection a lot. When I decided to buy it he said he would order the parts and put it together himself. BUT, HOWEVER, because I had 8 days extra pixel guaranty, the importer (X2S I think) would not allow that :(
So they had to send the barebone back to the importer where the system will be build. So now I'm hoping to pick it up early next week??!!

I honestly thought this was going to be a major issue when I saw the designs for the laptop being released but since then I have been using the firewire port regularly as well as the audio ports and I actually find them more convienent because its easier to place your stuff on the system and from any side (left or right). Also, it doesn't get in the way at all in my opinion. Of course, I always use a notebook cooler when I am doing intensive work so maybe the change in height would help the situation a bit. :)

Hey deathwinger, thanks for the reply. I had to take a look at it first because the firewire port will be used all the time the machine is on (and I'll use the touchpad). But anyway I have wait a while longer to really start it up :(

Is there anything to see if my laptop is healthy? Because, each time I play games and then I stop playing I see that my laptop is slower and takes time to open stuff, ( internet, programs, word excel... )

Try using System Mechanic (google it) and scan your computer. It'll show you any problems it has.

Eh well not as small of a way as me. Since I wont be ordering mine till dec lol.
P.S. Instead of posting numbers or posts, you can just quote what your replying to in one post, like I did here with you and Robvya.

so, I'm playing around with my brand spanking new m860tu, and it's fantastic! I'll be doing up a small 'mini-review- eventually, but for now, to answer some questions:

    1) I ordered my laptop without webcam installed (from Eurocom), but go figure, they sent me a laptop with one installed anyways at no extra cost! sweet bonus!

    2) I also ordered my laptop without the fingerprint reader. There is no 'hole' where the reader was supposed to be. I will eventually take pictures, but it looks like my laptop has a different top panel because there isn't even a spot where the fingerprint reader would be.

    -------

    I have 2 quick questions:

    1) Did that HD fix for Vista (hot HD's)ever prove to be successful/helpful?
    2) I'm getting this extremely annoying high pitched buzzing sound. I do not have a bluetooth module installed, but the noise is coming from the right palm rest area (HD). Anyone have any idea what is causing this and what I can do?

    I love my new laptop!
