Thanks! Now I am guessing mine with P8400/200 7200/2GB/XP pro would score around 9000. Rep point for your, eventhough you don't need it
-
would be interesting to compare with my m15x which scored 9698 out of the box using 2.5ghz/4gb ram/8800gtx/32bit -
ahh!! this is a huge tease right now!

mine didnt last long though, did it milcs within 2 weeks it went down to 3559
i dont mind taking a drop in performance in exchange for stability and on the plus side its £175 cheaper -
Temps and noise is what most of us are interested in. Fan noise and load temps...we want those
-

my guess is the temps should be ok, but I am a little concerned with the fan noise, since the design itself has a lot places that would result in air resistance... which is also a reason the temps would be low.
-
Lol it is a cell phone my camera is currently in possession of another individual

How did I miss the fan noise part from Chunghwa?
-
You will sacrifice your first 24hrs of enjoyment to give us a complete rundown on the system's performance. Yes, my good chum, you will. The shower is not calling your name.
j/k
What processor did you go with?
But camera phone pics >.< -
He edited the OP. P9500.
O noes stuk pixel?? =( You know how to fix em right? Search Stuck Pixel Killer any one of them should work. -
stuck pixel fixers never worked for me...i had 5 on my 52" LCD TV and none of them reacted to the fixer.
Although pushing gently on it (careful not to scratch) could potentially fix stuck pixels. Just don't push to hard as to damage other pixels. The theory behind this is that stuck pixels are due to bad electrical connections to the pixel and pushing on it could cause to pixel to re-align with the electrical connections.
AND PLEEEEEASE could we get some fan noise/temps under load? Thanks chunghwa -
lol its nice being the only actual owner in this lounge
-
So, wanna be owners or "wishing to be" are not invited!?!?
-
Hat goes off to you man. NICE! you are the first true owner on NBR that we know of. Your name goes down in history right now! - Quick - though - BENCHIES!!! 3dmark06? -
quick q can sum1 direct me to a place where i can find 3D06, the one i found resulted in ... nothing really
-
DRTH, I wonder if we'd get higher scores based on the higher performance memory we got in our laptops.
I'm extremely happy if the fans don't make serious noise under load and especially if the laptop itself remains cool.
Lets see if you can prove the tests wrong and get some more battery life out of this thing Chung -
He said the notebook was quiet.
I'm more interested in the temperatures and whether or not it gets hot. Knowing that Sager/Clevo strictly test and check their notebook, the temperature should be fine. Although the notebook has a single fan, it is larger than a normal one. -
laptops getting pretty warm while installed drivers and things so not sure if itll remain cool ><

i think the free version is fine, right?
BTW, download 3Dmark06, not vantage -

Chung seems to be unfamiliar with all the testing software, can somone post all the links on where to download find all the testinging software?
-
do we really need to know about 3dmarks? we already know what we should expect haha.
the big questions i think is the temperatures...
its good to know the noise isn't to big a factor. =) -
temps in question ><;
uh ohh -
Have you owned a high performance laptop before chung?
-
Kind of off topic, but does the new Turbo Memory actually do something now?
-
Yeah we already know what to expect as far as 3dmark. Let's see some temps. Download and instal RivaTuner for GPU temps.
-
also what screen do you have?
-
youdontneedtoknow Notebook Evangelist
ya temperature, Chung take a raw egg and place it under your laptop, after a half hour of using, take it out and then break it open, see how solid it becomes.
-
-
I think the owners lounge and FAQ should be merged

I have had a chance to play around with the 8660 some. The right side of the touch pad gets a little warm (not much, but noticeable). As for the GPU, Rivatuner reported the GPU running IDLE @ 52c and after the first test in 3D Mark 06, the GPU went up to 71c. Toward the end of the very first test in 3D Mark the fan kicks in at a higher RPM, but overall the fan noise is minimal.
-
it would be cool if we could make a list of the programs and tests, what they do, and a link to download them all in one place. 3dmark is an obvious one, but i dont know of any others for temps, harddrive speeds, screen color/brightness/contrast, battery testers, etc
something like:
Program name
What it does
Link to download -
lyk moving from a model T to a ferrari -

I posted some information in the Owners Lounge on temps. We should maybe have one of the moderators merge this thread into the owners lounge thread?
-

Really, it should be the first test that you do... In addition, you can use that egg as your breakfast, yammy... -

I knew it, you can cook eggs with it!

as long as its bearable.
(no 100C+) -
How are the speakers?
How is the screen?
We need high resolution pictures!!! -
As Justin has said, the main area where the laptop is getting warm appears to be the lower right hand corner, to the right of the touchpad. The right hand side in general is a bit warmer than the left hand side, but mainly the lower part of the right side. since I purchased a NC 1000, with all the vents on the bottom, that seems to be pretty nice
-
Justin, if you are too busy to post pics, you can give me the laptop for, about a couple of months or so, and I promise high res pics, benchies!!!
free of charge!
