Hi guys. For those of you who play Modern Warfare 2, what kind of framerates are you getting? Particularly for multiplayer. Which maps take the biggest framerate hit? I don't have the 9850 yet so I'd kinda like to get an idea of how well MW2 runs.

People have been saying Favela and Estate are the maps that make fps slowdown the most.

Okay I downloaded all drivers from sager website. Everything is running flawlessly also touch sensitive buttons works well :) I might be lucky because they just replaced HotKey driver two days ago with the newest one :) Thank you a looot!

I would like to ask owners hot their beast perform. I did not see benchmarks of GTX 280M SLI - blind? :)

Crysis 1920*1080 DX 10 HIGH and getting 41FPS
Crysis 1920*1080 DX 10 Very HIGH and getting 26FPS

I read the Arma 2 does not support SLI. Do you have any driver (even modded one) which support Arma 2 SLI?
I am on official 186.81 Nvidia drivers.

    Thank owners :)

Don't tease us! Does this mean Clevo are finally getting close to releasing a new, unlocked, updated BIOS for all M980nu owners?

Okay so I installed new drivers and everything worked flawlessly.

But another (maybe bigger problem thay non working touch buttons) showed up.

Yesterday, I looked into the bios and the second GTX280M form SLI setup was gone. It completely dissapeared and there was only one GPU instead of two. But a few hours later two cards in SLI again. Also Bios says : NO TPM or TMM.

Please help me guys - seems like advanced problem :-(

Hi guys, quick one here, just noticed theres a new 1.00.06 BIOS out there now for the M980nu which supposedly supports Win7, as per http://www.eurocom.com/support/drivers/bios/m980nu_bios.htm (where as I'd presume most of us are running 1.00.05), dated about 3 weeks ago, so pretty new.

Is anyone using this 1.00.06 BIOS from whatever vendor, and if so, apart from adding 7 to the list of OS in BIOS, did it actually improve anything with Win7, or change anything noticeably? Sound stuttering reduction maybe? :D

Sorry for bursting your bubble, but I doubt that Clevo will release a BIOS that allows CPU overclocking in the future. The KGB can assure you of this. I'm willing to bet $20 on that too.

Just update what you can, when you can.

Hi everyone, this link should allow you to download the new .06 BIOS, which adds BIOS Win7 support, if anyone notices any difference or improvements under Win7 after trying this, as unfortunately the release notes dont go into any more detail on whats changed, let us know :)

    ftp://sftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/M980NU/BIOS_06.zip

Just change the 06 to 05 to get the last revision.

guys, is it true the 9850 contains a Creative Sound Blaster soundchip? If so, how is the sound output quality? Is it superior to the earlier clevo models with the RealTek soundchip? I absolutely hate the RealTek chip. Some games, such as CoD5 World At War don't even support it, hence no sound. This is the problem I have with my current machine. Plus the volume level is pretty low.

OK thanks for the feedback, its a general m980nu issue with varied configs then it seems. Might be handy to know in future, Kobalt are looking into it for some of us with thier version if the M980NU...

JUst so you know, it appears to be an Nvidia/related driver issue, either with powermizer OR the related subsystems. Remove the Nvidia Display drivers from your system and you'll likely become issue free (well for audio at least), if the Windows just starts using the standard VGA card driver, rather than a card/NV specific one.

The M980NU doesnt use a creative chip at all, it uses the Realtek ALC888 chip.

There is no THE Realtek chip, realtek make about 50 different models of audio chip, with varied capabilities. I've not played any game recently that hasn't had sound on a modern realtek-using system (most of which will be using newer models supporting 'HDAudio' not AC97)!

Would depend on the model used, drivers and also possibly whether OpenAL was installed on the machine or not. There are a lot of variables, I would severely doubt if the game produces no sound on every machine that uses realtek audio...as thats about 50% of the gaming population (most onboard sound is realtek these days)

strange that a video driver would effect audio. Also i'm using the same 280m driver as i did on vista - the only difference is windows 7, and a newer rtek driver. perhaps i'll go back to the vista rtek driver to see if it improves.

or have people tried this themselves?

has anyone noticed internet explorer crashing more often - yes it restores the web pages when you reopen ie but it crashed far far too often for my liking.

Well, with HDMI, audio now often has to pass through the video card to get to the HDMI port. The crackling problems a lot of people seem to be having seem largely to be with power issues of some sort, as disabling Powermizer seems to help most people, so there may be some sort of interference as the sound is passing through the video card as it changes settings or something.

Hi, I know this is probably posted somewhere but just can't seem to find it and I'm getting desperate. My screen freezes then fades to white for a second then it returns normal, this has happened both in and out of windows(w7). Also when I boot, I notice flashing lines randomly appearing across my screen. I don't know what to do. Can anyone please help me.

I contacted my vendor and they're asking for a screenie of my problem. Problem is, whenever I do a print screen it always captures a "proper" display, so I had to use a camera to do it. Is anyone here experiencing anything like this? I'm very careful with my laptop, and I don't know how it could have gotten this problem. It had been doing fine for a month and suddenly this happens.

If when you print screen, the screen is ok, then it's not the GPU. It's the screen/LCD.

Another way to test whether it is the screen or GPU is to connect an external monitor. If the display is fine on the external monitor then it is the LCD, but if there is nothing on the external monitor either it is the GPU.

@ Fatpanda (and anyone else suffering M980NU audio stuttering) please try this and see if it helps :)

The above has allowed me to enjoy a few tracks from the Delain album I bought at the gig last night with NO stutter at all. DPC Latency checker also points at a massive improvement with a single spike of 16k which I believe is when I brought the machine out of 'display off' after going AFK to eat, even if that occurs every 30 minutes, its a far cry from 56k spikes a few times every minute.
