I just talked to the people over at XPC and they have said that they do not have any new information regarding when the laptop will ship. I did find out that Crysis was one of the games that was producing the stuttering issues and possibly Supreme Commander, which I have never heard of. I could careless about Crysis too. I beat it like 2 years ago it seems. Anyway, that is where XPC is ATM. Anyone have any more information? Has anyone talked to Sager today? I think I will give them a shout too.

daz did you try the sound setting?
is it better ? -
Do you the latest driver? -
-
dated: 14/04/09
is that it ?
have you set your speaker system to 5.1 or stereo? -
perhaps its a bigger problem than we realised.
i hope theres not some underlying problem, that may require a recall -
http://www.clevo.fr/index1.html
I have 5.1 but will switch to stereo. -
Still not available.

all dvd's that use 5.1 sound terrible if you use powerdvd (very tinny and quiet - even when you change to stereo in the program), but vlc plays them great. i'm sure its a driver problem.
try vlc, if its still quiet i think you have a physical problem with the speakers. -

which codec does it say you have ?
you get it by clicking the small i icon at the bottom right of the manager.Attached Files:
-
-
Where did you get it? -
its on the driver disk from clevo too. -
when u use vlc, right click and go through the audio settings. mess around a little with 5.1, stereo etc to see how loud they sound.
on my laptop the rear speakers are the loudest, its the 2 front speakers that are quieter.
it was like that on my acer 8920g too. -
-
Seems to work now and it is louder! -
personally i'd uninstall/reinstall the entire real tek suite.
good luck. -
-
Wonder why I don't have the fill option. -
-
Hiya,
I can run fsb 300 24/7 on mine
I have had zero problems with crysis or CrW so i dont know what sager have fudged up
I love my system to bits, the block is exactly the same as the Alienware one, i have them side by side, dont get the M17 expecting the block to be smaller
The fans are MUCH quieter then then m17 so personally its much better in my opinion -
i thought you had 1066 ram ?
what is your fsb:dram ratio? -
-
I womder is I should order different RAM Got 1333 now, but all the issues have me wondering if 1066 is the better choice.

Just a word about why Sager has yet to release the NP9850.
There is an issue with the SLi video performance (micro stuttering...pausing) that Sager discovered and reported to Clevo. Clevo has now verified that it exists with all of their production models that have been shipped worldwide...not just those received by Sager.
At this time Clevo, Sager and nVIDIA engineers are working on finding a resolution, but to protect their customers from inferior performance Sager will not release the NP9850 until the issue is resolved.
If you would like to see exactly what the issue is you can download and run the short video provided by Sager at http://74.212.252.103/ftp/misc/MVI_2340.zip -
Well... that makes me wonder what the heck those of us with Clevos are going to do
-
help help help !!
since trying the fsb overclock with nst my notebook has went crazy.
as soon as i turn it on the physical memory keeps filling untill it freezes and locks up.
the resource monitor says its my kaspersky scans, but it was running fine earlier today.
can someone help ? -
"Thanks for info
We do not have any issues with running SLI in our EUROCOM branded models . We are shipping both single VGA and Dual VGA / SLI. As you know EUROCOM has it's own R&D Team so we do not experience issues like other companies. This is what makes us better.
The SLI issue was related to one of resitors located on the mainboard causing performance issue under heavy load when running SLI - and was resolved long time ago by our R&D Team." -
-
Someone had the same problem here:
http://www.vistax64.com/vista-hardw...l-memory-fills-up-100-no-apparent-reason.html -
This is kind of interesting when I mentioned about upgrading in he future to the QX9300.
Intel doesn't plan to dropprices of QX9300 so don't count on this. You may be better off long term to upgrade VGA to next generation Nvidia N11E-GTX with DDR5 coming early next year - N11E-GTX is namecode for next gen VGA silicoon, GTX 280M is N10E
Our next upgrade of M98NU XCaliber is to Intel "Clarksfield platform" based on PM55 chipset and Intel i7 Mobile CPUs 720QM, 820QM and 920QM. Next model will be called X8100 - and will use same mechanical design as the current model.
We will offer upgrade package so you can upgrade your current model to X8100 XCaliber2 by replacing motherboard and CPU (new CPUs are socket 939 different from the current ones).
We will lauch updated model in about 6 months. Same spec and mechanical design- just different motherboard. -
Thats pretty interesting and seems like you made a good choice then because you have a nice upgrade path for the future .

However let's try a little experiment by any of you that actually HAVE a M980NU. Run GRID patched to v1.2 with max res, max setting on everything, including the advance graphic option.
It isn't as noticeable if you don't run it that way. A lot of people miss the advance graphics setting option page as you have to press Shift or Y button if you use a MS Xbox controller for your PC.
Report back to us whether it is smooth, or it shows the stuttering...pausing that is shown in the video I linked to in my previous post.
Let's see if the issue is there, or whether no one other than Sager has discovered it. -
Was it just that game having issues or has it been seen across many games ?.
-
i imagine alot
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
It shows up on any game that requires fast frame rates, like racing games. You can see it on Crysis too, but it is less noticeable. However if you look carefully you will see it there too.
Careful Moo...since it may be an nVIDIA issue you may see it on yours too if you look closely! -
no SLI on mine
Xfire all the way ( when they get here) -
I have Crysis on my laptop so I'll have to give it ago.
-
All I can say is hopefully it's a driver solution and not hardware. If it's hardware that could be expensive to fix (if choosen by the MFR).
I'm just glad it's been found and Sager is taking the right action which is not releasing their model. Of course I wait anxiously but now that I know it make me feel better. Communication is key. Thanks Donald for the explanation.
Daz look forward to your results. -
Hopefully its something that can be addressed in a bios update of sorts rather then a driver. if its drivers and the machine will need it addressed in every new set that means you cant get modded drivers that would work properly and you dont want to be left out of the new sets, especially with all the SLI profiles they add for new games.

i play on max settings on mine and get upper twenties for the most part in crysis at 1920x1080 4x aa
I dont have any problems with microstuttering at all, but i will keep an eye out for anything -
Yeah, my worry is that it's a hardware issue that will require a return to fix. The downside to using RJtech is the RMA fee
-
rma fee
Thats what i like with mine i have a problem i can just jump on a half hour train and go drop it off to them
I will keep an eye on it and see what happens, but i just did a session on Warhead and it was running fine didnt have any problems.
To be honest i am having believing that there is a problem with all units as this is the first i have heard about it from either my OEM whom i speak to alot and they havent heard about it either
seems strange to me -
-
kaspersky has 'issues' with vista 64bit apparently, shame as i loved kaspersky. its gone now and nod32 is in its place and running fine
although its weird it only started after 2 days, perhaps it was nothing to do with the ocing after all.
i'm getting worried by all this talk of total recalls etc, i really hope i've not bought a lemon
